“Death Penalty for Child Rapists Act” — A new bill introduced by Nancy Mace proposes capital punishment for individuals convicted of ra**ng a child.

Mace stated it plainly:
“If you sexually assault a child, there should be no second chance.”

A bird did what engineers could not. 🐦 Japan's iconic Shinkansen bullet train was causing loud sonic booms every time it burst out of a tunnel, disturbing entire neighborhoods and forcing speed restrictions. Engineers spent years struggling to find a solution. The breakthrough finally came from an unexpected place. Eiji Nakatsu, a senior engineer at West Japan Railway and an avid birdwatcher, noticed how the kingfisher dives from air into water at extraordinary speed without creating a splash. The bird's beak is shaped to transition smoothly between two very different mediums.
Nakatsu redesigned the Shinkansen nose to mimic the kingfisher's beak shape. The results published by JR West were remarkable. ⚡ The train became 10 percent faster, used 15 percent less electricity, and eliminated the disruptive sonic boom entirely. This story is taught in engineering schools as a landmark example of biomimicry. Nature solved in millions of years what humans could not solve in a decade.

In a remarkable display of composure, 10-year-old Juliana Ossa survived an alligator attack in Orlando, Florida, by using a specialized survival tactic she learned at a local wildlife park.

While swimming in shallow water at Moss Park, an 8.8-foot alligator bit her left leg and refused to let go.

To escape, Juliana utilized the "nose trick," a technique taught at Gatorland to help people break an alligator's grip.

Because an alligator's jaw muscles are designed for crushing force rather than precision, they are incredibly difficult to pry open.

However, their nostrils are sensitive and vital for their breathing and pressure sensing.

Juliana reached down and plugged the alligator's nostrils with two of her fingers. By blocking the animal's airway, she forced it to open its mouth to breathe, which momentarily broke its "death grip."

Taking advantage of that split second, she pried her leg out of the alligator's mouth and escaped to safety.

This quick thinking is credited with saving her life. Professionals note that while prying at an alligator's jaws is nearly impossible for a human, targeting sensitive areas like the nose or the eyes is the most effective way to force the animal to release its hold.

Following the incident, Juliana received stitches for her puncture wounds but made a full recovery, while the alligator was captured and euthanized by wildlife officials.

Scientists Use Light to K*ll Cancer Cells With 99 Percent Success
In a breakthrough that could change cancer treatment forever, researchers from three U.S. universities have discovered a way to destroy cancer cells using light — with no drugs, no chemotherapy, and no toxic side effects.
This technique uses a special type of light that activates molecules inside the cancer cells themselves, causing them to rupture and die. The surrounding healthy cells remain unharmed, making it a far more targeted approach than traditional treatments like chemo or radiation, which often damage healthy tissue along with tumours.
Even more impressive is the success rate, early experiments show this light-based treatment is 99% effective at wiping out cancer cells. Researchers are now working to adapt the method for real-world use in patients, exploring ways to deliver the light deep inside the body where tumours grow.
If successful, this could mean a future where cancer treatment is painless, side-effect free, and faster than anything available today. No more hair loss, nausea, or long recovery times, just precision targeting of the disease itself.
This discovery is a shining example of how science and technology can work together to solve humanity’s most urgent health challenges. Cancer has been one of medicine’s greatest enemies for centuries, but with innovations like this, the fight may finally be turning in our favour.
Imagine walking into a clinic, receiving a light treatment in minutes, and walking out cancer-free. That future may be closer than we think.

A company called Greenvize has developed a hydrogen-powered stove that literally creates its own fuel on demand. Using a process called electrolysis, the system splits water into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity. That hydrogen is then instantly used as a clean-burning fuel for cooking.

The wild part? Just 100 ml of water and about 1 kWh of electricity can power up to 6 hours of cooking. No gas tanks. No refills. No waiting.

Inside, a PEM electrolyzer produces hydrogen in real time, meaning there’s no need to store or transport fuel at all. It’s generated and used instantly.

If scaled, this could completely change how we cook, especially in places where gas access is limited. A stove powered by water and electricity isn’t just clever… it might be the beginning of a fully decentralized kitchen.
