Successfully Conducted: Session on Service Marketing in the International Market

BASIS successfully organized the “Session on Service Marketing in the International Market” on Thursday, 30 April 2026, at the BASIS Auditorium, with active participation from its honorable member companies.

The session was inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Majid, CEO of Bangla Puzzle Limited. It featured insightful presentations by distinguished speakers—Mr. Raisul Kabir, CEO of Brain Station 23 PLC, and Mr. Sheikh Shaer Hasan, CEO of Nascenia Limited.

The session highlighted that success in the global IT market depends on strong strategic direction and focused marketing efforts. A key takeaway was that marketing is not merely promotional; it is fundamentally about strategic decision-making, including:

• Identifying where to compete (market, customer segment, geography)
• Determining how to compete (cost leadership or differentiation)
Participants gained valuable insights on:
• Focusing on specific domains and niche markets
• Building a strong digital presence through LinkedIn, SEO, and social media
• Leveraging open-source platforms and tools for growth
The discussion also emphasized the growing impact of AI, which is reshaping the industry by reducing repetitive tasks while increasing the importance of value-driven solutions and innovation.

Furthermore, the importance of SWOT analysis was highlighted as a critical tool for strategic planning and aligning organizational capabilities with market opportunities.

The session was honored by the presence of Mr. Md. Rowshan Kamal James, Chairman, BASIS Japan Desk. Mr. Motassir Khandaker and Mr. Abu Sufiun Abir from the BASIS Secretariat also attended and contributed to the successful ex*****on of the session.

বেসিস-এর নতুন সদস্যদের জন্য অরিয়েন্টেশন প্রোগ্রাম অনুষ্ঠিত

শনিবার, ২৫ এপ্রিল ২০২৬, বেলা ৩:০০ টায় বাংলাদেশ অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব সফটওয়্যার অ্যান্ড ইনফরমেশন সার্ভিসেস (বেসিস)-এর উদ্যোগে বেসিস অডিটোরিয়ামে সদ্য অন্তর্ভুক্ত সদস্য কোম্পানিগুলোর জন্য একটি অরিয়েন্টেশন প্রোগ্রামের আয়োজন করা হয়।

এই অরিয়েন্টেশন প্রোগ্রামের মাধ্যমে নতুন সদস্যদের বেসিস-এর লক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য, সাংগঠনিক কাঠামো, কার্যক্রম এবং সদস্যসেবাসমূহ সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিতভাবে অবহিত করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে বেসিস কীভাবে সদস্য প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর ব্যবসা উন্নয়ন, নীতি সহায়তা, দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন প্রশিক্ষণ, শিল্পখাতভিত্তিক নেটওয়ার্কিং এবং আন্তর্জাতিক বাজার সম্প্রসারণে সহায়তা করে থাকে—সে বিষয়ে বিস্তৃত আলোচনা করা হয়।

অনুষ্ঠানে বেসিস সহায়ক কমিটির পক্ষ থেকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জনাব মোঃ রওশান কামাল (টেকসল টেকনোলজিস বাংলাদেশ লিমিটেড), জনাব বেলাল আহমেদ (বিটসকল), জনাব এ এইচ এম রোকমুনুর জামান রনি (এইচ আর সফট বিডি), জনাব মুহাম্মদ আব্দুল মজিদ (বাংলা পাজেল লিমিটেড) এবং জনাব ফেরদৌস আলম (এটোভা টেকনোলজি)।

অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত অতিথিবৃন্দ নতুন সদস্যদের বেসিস পরিবারের সঙ্গে যুক্ত হওয়ার জন্য আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা ও অভিনন্দন জানান। তারা নতুন সদস্যদের বেসিস-এর বিভিন্ন কার্যক্রমে সক্রিয়ভাবে অংশগ্রহণের আহ্বান জানান এবং দেশের তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি খাতের টেকসই উন্নয়নে সম্মিলিতভাবে কাজ করার গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরেন।

এছাড়াও, অরিয়েন্টেশন সেশনে নতুন সদস্যদের জন্য বেসিস-এর বিশেষ সুবিধাসমূহ তুলে ধরা হয়, যার মধ্যে রয়েছে বিভিন্ন সেমিনার, কর্মশালা ও নেটওয়ার্কিং ইভেন্টে অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ, স্ট্যান্ডিং কমিটিতে কাজ করার সম্ভাবনা, নীতিনির্ধারণ প্রক্রিয়ায় মতামত প্রদানের সুযোগ এবং দেশি-বিদেশি বাণিজ্যিক প্রতিনিধিদলে অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ।

এই অরিয়েন্টেশন প্রোগ্রাম নতুন সদস্যদের জন্য পারস্পরিক পরিচিতি, অভিজ্ঞতা বিনিময় এবং ভবিষ্যৎ সহযোগিতার একটি কার্যকর প্ল্যাটফর্ম হিসেবে কাজ করেছে। বেসিস বিশ্বাস করে, নতুন সদস্যদের সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণ সংগঠনকে আরও শক্তিশালী করবে এবং দেশের আইসিটি খাতের সামগ্রিক অগ্রগতিতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে।

উল্লেখ্য, বেসিস একটি উদ্ভাবনবান্ধব ও ব্যবসাবান্ধব পরিবেশ তৈরির লক্ষ্যে নিয়মিতভাবে এ ধরনের অরিয়েন্টেশন ও নেটওয়ার্কিং প্রোগ্রাম আয়োজন করে যাচ্ছে। নতুন সদস্যদের এই যাত্রাকে আরও সুগম ও সফল করতে বেসিস সবসময় পাশে থাকবে—এমন অঙ্গীকার পুনর্ব্যক্ত করা হয়।

Second Meeting of the BASIS Standing Committee on Startups

The second meeting of the BASIS Standing Committee on Startups was convened on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 2:30 pm at the BASIS Boardroom. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Syed Saiful Islam, CEO of Global Technology Advancement and Chairman of the Committee. Mr. Mohammad Abdul Majid, Member In-Charge of the Committee and a member of the BASIS Associate Committee, was also present at the meeting.

The meeting began with a strong focus on initiatives aimed at promoting startup platforms, preparing ventures to become investment-ready, and providing structured guidelines to support their growth journey. We actively organize consultancy sessions, growth seminars, and stakeholder training programs to enhance knowledge and build capacity within the startup ecosystem.

Through workshops with banking authorities and roundtable discussions between banks and startups, we aim to improve access to finance and strengthen collaboration. Our efforts also include facilitating matchmaking among startups, investors, and stakeholders, enabling startup listings, and ensuring fund security. We are working to develop structured startup pools covering key areas such as operations, planning, marketing and branding, and digital presence. In addition, we host “Startup Talk” sessions with bankers, BASIS, and other key stakeholders to encourage meaningful dialogue and the exchange of ideas.

Furthermore, we collaborate with BASIS and universities to create internship opportunities, nurturing future talent and bridging the gap between academia and industry. Through these comprehensive initiatives, we strive to build an inclusive, connected, and investment-friendly environment that empowers startups to grow and succeed.

At the meeting, a total of 10 members attended, of whom 08 were present in person and 02 joined virtually. The Co-Chair of the committee Mr. Mohammad Shahriar Khan, Managing Director, nexkraft limited, Mr. Sharif Ahmed, Managing Director, Periscope Labs Limited were present while member of the committee Mr. Akram Hossain, Managing partner, Nevronus Systems, Mr. Sk Khalidujjaman, Chief Marketing Officer, Waadaa Ltd, Mr. Showmik Zaman Chowdhury, Chairman, NSM Limited and Mr. Abu Huraira Bin Aman, CTO, ThemeXpert were also present.
The Co-Chair of the committee Dr. Saad F. Ahmed, Managing Director and CEO, Infonex Software International LTD, and the Member of the committee Ms. Zobaida Chowdhury, Managing Director, EkkBaz Bangladesh Pvt. Ltd were also attend the meeting virtually.

4th Meeting of the Standing Committee on Member Service & Welfare

The Standing Committee on Member Service & Welfare successfully convened its 4th meeting on 20 April 2026 at the BASIS Boardroom. The session focused on advancing key initiatives and strengthening strategic directions to further enhance member services and welfare.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Managing Director & CEO, OS IT Solutions Ltd – Chairman of the Committee, with active participation from Mr. Ferdosh Alam, Founder & CEO, Atova Technology – Member-in-Charge, along with Co-Chairmen and Mr. Nawab Asif (Lenosoft), Mr. Arif Billah (Solutya Private Limited).

The session was attended by the following esteemed members: Mr. AFM Ismail Chowdhury, Managing Director, iCircles USA Bangladesh Limited – Member; Mr. Shafqat Chowdhury, Director, Kreatech – Member; Mr. Md. Babul Hossain, Chief Executive Officer, NBY IT Solution – Member; Mr. Md. Moazzem Hossain, Proprietor, Unishop – Member; Mr. Md. Aladdin, Founder, Unite Business Automation Ltd – Member.

Key discussions of the meeting included reviewing progress on previous action items with a focus on outcomes and impact, finalization of the structure and operational framework of the Sponsorship & Welfare Fund, and exploring strategies to enhance member engagement through innovative service delivery and digital platforms.

The committee also deliberated on the proposed Innovation Hub, outlining its implementation roadmap and resource requirements, and emphasized the development of a Member Support & Mentorship (Buddy) Program to strengthen collaboration within the community. Planning for upcoming flagship events such as hackathons, startup pitching sessions, and industry collaboration programs was also discussed.

In addition, the meeting highlighted the importance of organizing EGP training programs, mentorship initiatives, and project pricing awareness sessions to further build capacity and practical business skills among members.

Special focus was given to broader capacity-building initiatives, particularly designing practical AI-focused workshops for members and executives. The meeting further provided space to discuss member feedback, challenges, and recommendations for continuous service improvement.

From the BASIS Secretariat, Mr. Mehedi Hasan, Senior Executive, Member Services, was present in the meeting.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to implement impactful initiatives that will enhance engagement, innovation, and the overall welfare of BASIS members.

Successfully Conducted: Workshop on Cash Incentive – Challenges & Way Outs

BASIS successfully organized the “Workshop on Cash Incentive – Challenges & Way Outs” on Saturday, 18th April 2026, with active participation from member companies.

The session was inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Majid from the BASIS Associate Committee, followed by an insightful presentation from our Guest Speaker, Mohammad Ruhul Amin, Senior Manager, Assurance Services, KPMG (Rahman Rahman Huq, Chartered Accountants).

The workshop covered key areas to help members ensure error-free applications and compliance, including:
🔹 Preconditions for availing cash incentives
🔹 Documentation and key focus areas
🔹 Handling audit-related issues
🔹 Preparation for inspections and office visits
🔹 Bangladesh Bank & Civil Audit observations and precautions
🔹 BASIS support and guidance

The session also highlighted the end-to-end process of cash incentive claims, common audit observations, and practical “way outs” to overcome documentation gaps and compliance challenges.

We were honored by the presence of BASIS Associate Committee members including Mr. Md. Rowshan Kamal James and Mr. Ferdosh Alam. The session concluded with valuable remarks from the BASIS Administrator, who assured continued support to members in addressing cash incentive-related challenges.
Mr. Motassir Khandaker and Mr. Abu Sufiun Abir also attended from the BASIS Secretariat and took part in making this workshop successful.

বেসিস-এর নির্বাহী পর্ষদ নির্বাচন ২০২৬–২০২৮ উপলক্ষে ৪র্থ প্রস্তুতি সভা অনুষ্ঠিত

বাংলাদেশ অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব সফটওয়্যার অ্যান্ড ইনফরমেশন সার্ভিসেস (বেসিস)-এর কার্যনির্বাহী পর্ষদ নির্বাচন ২০২৬–২০২৮ সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন করার লক্ষ্যে নির্বাচন বোর্ড ও নির্বাচন আপিল বোর্ডের সঙ্গে বেসিস প্রশাসকের ৪র্থ সভা আজ ১৩ এপ্রিল ২০২৬ তারিখে বেসিস সভাকক্ষে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

সভাটি সভাপতিত্ব করেন জনাব আবুল খায়ের মোহাম্মদ হাফিজুল্লাহ্ খান, যুগ্মসচিব, স্থানীয় সরকার বিভাগ, ও প্রশাসক, বেসিস।

সভায় ঘোষিত তফসিল অনুযায়ী নির্বাচন কার্যক্রমের সার্বিক অগ্রগতি পর্যালোচনা করা হয়। বিশেষভাবে সদস্য ক্যাটাগরি সংক্রান্ত জটিলতা নিরসন এবং নির্বাচন সংক্রান্ত প্রশাসনিক কার্যক্রম সুষ্ঠুভাবে সম্পন্ন করার বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

এছাড়াও নির্বাচন বোর্ড ও নির্বাচন আপিল বোর্ডের কার্যপদ্ধতির সমন্বয়, অভিযোগ ও আপিল নিষ্পত্তির প্রক্রিয়া, ভোটগ্রহণের প্রস্তুতি এবং সম্ভাব্য চ্যালেঞ্জ মোকাবিলায় করণীয় বিষয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মতবিনিময় হয়।

Opening Ceremony of B-TopSE Program Basic Series Held at BITM

On April 10, 2026, the opening ceremony of the B-TopSE Program Basic Series batch-1 was held at the BASIS Institute of Technology & Management Limited (BITM), located in Kawran Bazar, Dhaka. This transformative initiative, designed to enhance software engineering capabilities in Bangladesh, is jointly implemented by JICA, BCC, and BASIS under the JICA-BCC-BASIS Technical Cooperation Project (TCP).

At the event, the chief guest Mr. Abul Khair Mohammad Hafizullah Khan, Joint Secretary, Local Government Division & Administrator, BASIS, he underscored the program’s strong potential to significantly contribute to the transformation of BASIS members company and Bangladesh’s ICT sector.

The Guest of Honor, Mr. Golam Sarwar, Director of BD ITEC, BCC, highlighted the importance of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation. He highlighted that in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, adaptability and cooperation are essential for sustainable progress.

Md. Rowshan Kamal James, BASIS Associate Committee Member and Sub-Committee In-Charge of BITM, expressed optimism about the program’s role in strengthening Bangladesh’s ICT sector and further deepening the long-standing Japan-Bangladesh relations, which have flourished since the post-liberation period.

The event was also graced by distinguished representatives from JICA, including KATSUKI Naho, JICA Expert (Project Coordinator), and Farzana Sharlin, Admin Officer of the JICA-BCC-BASIS TCP.

Mr. Md. Mofazzal Hossain, Coordinator, represented BITM. Also, a good number of BASIS, participants also attended the program.

The training session was conducted by Shahidul Islam, Senior Machine Learning Engineer at HeadBlocks, who brought valuable industry expertise to the session.
A notable number of enthusiastic trainees actively participated in the session, reflecting the increasing demand and interest in advanced software architecture skills among Bangladesh’s IT professionals. This milestone marks another step forward in developing a skilled workforce aligned with global software engineering standards.

BASIS & Community Bank Bangladesh PLC Sign MoU to Empower ICT Entrepreneurs & Startups

The Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Community Bank Bangladesh PLC officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the BASIS Boardroom, marking a significant step toward strengthening financial and banking support for the country’s ICT sector.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished representatives from Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, including Ms. Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge); Mr. SK Perves Maraker, SVP & Head of Division, Agent Banking, Foreign Remittance, Transaction Banking & Strategic Business Unit; Mr. Hossain-Al-Safeer Chowdhury, Vice President & Head of SME & Agriculture Division; Mr. Zahir Ahmed, VP & Head of Cards, Card Division; Mr. Md. Mamun ur Rahman, Head of Alternative Delivery Channel & Head of MD’s Coordination Team; and Mr. Md. Al Amin Sumon, PO & Manager, Agent Banking Division.

The ceremony was honored by Mr. Abul Khair Mohammad Hafizullah Khan, Joint Secretary, Local Government Division & Administrator, BASIS. From BASIS, the event was attended by Mr. Mustafa Rafiqul Islam (Duke), Mr. Mushfiqur Rahman, Mr. Md. Rowshan Kamal James, Mr. A H M Rokmunur Zaman Rony, Mr. Mohammad Abdul Majid, Mr. Md. Jewel, Mr. Ferdosh Alam, and Mr. Syeed Zahid Hossain, all Associate Committee Members of BASIS.

Under this MoU, BASIS and Community Bank will jointly introduce a range of tailored financial solutions for ICT entrepreneurs, including a co-branded “BASIS × Community Bank” SME & Freelancer Banking and Credit Card with fast-track account opening, preferential fees and foreign exchange rates, and credit facilities linked to verified business performance. The partnership will also enable ICT startup funding and working capital support through collateral-light loans, invoice financing, bridge finance, and scalable credit lines.

Additionally, both organizations will collaborate to enhance foreign remittance and export collection services through a dedicated ICT Export & Remittance Desk, ensuring faster transactions, better conversion rates, and compliance support. The MoU also focuses on joint ventures for digital banking innovations such as API banking, e-KYC onboarding, payroll systems, and embedded finance solutions to be developed by BASIS member companies.

To further empower the ICT ecosystem, the partnership will deliver skills development, compliance training, market access programs, and an ICT Export Accelerator connecting local companies with global buyers, supported by secure payment mechanisms.
