ASACC is pleased to announce the launch of its Executive recruitment process for the awaiting 2026-27 session. This is a remarkable opportunity for students to enhance their skills, strive for excellence, and contribute meaningfully to our esteemed institution and club.

Eligibility Rules:
1. Applicants must be regular and disciplined students of Adamjee Cantonment Public School.
2. Only students from Classes 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 are eligible to apply.
3. Candidates must demonstrate respectful and cooperative behavior toward students, representatives, club members, and seniors.
4. Adherence to all rules and decisions of ASACC is mandatory.

Today, we proudly celebrate 66 glorious years of our beloved second home, Adamjee Cantonment Public School.

Established on this very day in 1960 by the visionary Sir Gul Muhammad Adamjee, this esteemed institution has flourished into a beacon of excellence within Dhaka Cantonment. For six and a half decades and more, Adamjee has upheld its cherished motto — “Education, Discipline, Character” — shaping not only brilliant minds but also creative souls.

For 66 remarkable years, Adamjee has been a canvas where dreams are painted, talents are discovered, and imagination finds its colors. It is more than just a school; it is an emotion, a masterpiece of memories, and a home where aspirations come to life.

We, the Adamjee Cantonment Public School Art & Craft Club, wish that ACPS continues to shine brighter in academics, creativity, culture, and every sphere of excellence in the years ahead.

Today marks Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram – a sacred and historic day in the Islamic calendar, observed with deep reflection and reverence by Muslims around the world.

For Sunni Muslims, Ashura commemorates the miraculous deliverance of Prophet Musa (Moses, peace be upon him) and the Children of Israel from Pharaoh’s oppression. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) honored this day by fasting and encouraged his followers to do the same as an act of gratitude to Allah.

For Shia Muslims, Ashura is a day of profound mourning, marking the martyrdom of Imam Hussain ibn Ali (RA), the noble grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who was killed in the Battle of Karbala in 680 CE. His unwavering stand for justice, dignity, and truth against tyranny continues to inspire generations.

On this day, Muslims engage in prayer, fasting, charitable acts, and reflection on the values of sacrifice, justice, and compassion.

As we observe Ashura, may we remember the trials of those who came before us and carry forward their legacy of righteousness. May our hearts be filled with peace, our intentions purified, and our actions guided by truth. Ashura Mubarak to all.

শিল্পশিখিঃ পর্ব-১ঃ কার্টুন আর্ট

কার্টুন আর্ট একটি বিশেষ ভিজ্যুয়াল আর্ট ফর্ম, যার মূল ভিত্তি হলো ব্যঙ্গ, সংক্ষিপ্ততা এবং প্রকাশভঙ্গির সহজতা। ইতিহাস ঘেঁটে দেখা যায়, কার্টুন শিল্পের উৎপত্তি হয় ইউরোপে ১৮শ ও ১৯শ শতকে, যেখানে সামাজিক ও রাজনৈতিক বক্তব্যকে সরল চিত্রের মাধ্যমে উপস্থাপন করা হতো। সময়ের সাথে সাথে এটি শুধু মুদ্রিত পত্রিকায় নয়, টেলিভিশন, সিনেমা ও ডিজিটাল প্ল্যাটফর্মেও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ স্থান দখল করে নিয়েছে।

কার্টুন শব্দটির উৎপত্তি হয়েছে ইতালীয় শব্দ "cartone" থেকে, যার অর্থ বড় আকৃতির কাগজ। ১৮শ শতাব্দীতে ইউরোপে ব্যঙ্গচিত্র বা স্যাটায়ারিক্যাল ড্রইং হিসেবে কার্টুনের সূচনা ঘটে। বিশেষত ইংল্যান্ডের শিল্পী James Gillray, George Cruikshank এবং পরবর্তীতে Thomas Nast এর মতো চিত্রশিল্পীরা কার্টুনকে রাজনৈতিক ব্যঙ্গচিত্রের শক্তিশালী অস্ত্র হিসেবে গড়ে তোলেন।

ভারতীয় উপমহাদেশে কার্টুন আর্টের পথিকৃৎ হিসেবে পরিচিত K. Shankar Pillai, যিনি ১৯৪০-এর দশকে 'Shankar’s Weekly' প্রকাশের মাধ্যমে কার্টুনকে শিক্ষামূলক ও সমাজ-সচেতন শিল্পমাধ্যমে রূপ দেন। বাংলাদেশেও মতিউর রহমান, রফিকুন নবী (রনবী), হাবিবুর রহমানের মতো শিল্পীরা কার্টুনের মাধ্যমে সমাজচিত্র ও রাজনৈতিক বিশ্লেষণ উপস্থাপন করেছেন।
