Up next, we have Nafia Afrin as the 2nd Runner Up. Mature when needed yet swift in delivery, Nafia knows which card to bring forth to win an argument. Her wild card performance keeps the opponents on their toes.

At the 1st Runner Up position, it is none other than Saima Binte Kader. Quiet, level headed and unperturbed under pressure, she knows which logic of opponent to counter and which to leave for judges' discretion. Her confident personality and warm smile easily capture everyone's attention.

Last but not the least, as the Champion, we present to you Shihab Adnan Antor. Hearing Antor's name in the debate arena, two things come to mind: smooth delivery and too many POI(s). His on the spot logical reasoning and improvisation skills easily make him admirable to all.

"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops." — Henry Brooks Adams.

A teacher is the parent who Inspires people to be the best version of themselves without making them feel inferior. To uphold the omnipresence of the teachers, every year on 5th October, International Teachers' Day is celebrated allover the world.

In the Department of Criminology, 5th October is the date for two auspicious occasions. Today denotes the Birthday of Criminology department's most beloved, respected and missed person: Dr. Zia Rahman, Professor and Founding Chairman, Department of Criminology, University of Dhaka.

Besides being the founding Chair of the department, Zia sir placed the founding stone for Criminology Debating and Extempore Forum (CDEF) and its first committee. Today, CDEF stands widely known as one of the most successful department debate clubs of the University of Dhaka. A brand in himself, sir was widely known for hosting national and international conferences, symposiums and the journey of those did not even pause during the COVID period, when the whole world was quarantined.

Dr. Zia Rahman Sir used to always teach the students the importance of creativity and empirical work along with theory and academics. He was a futurist whose works still make the scholars and students marvel alike.

Today, on the occasion of International Teachers' Day, CDEF gratefully, and with utmost respect, remembers the late Professor Dr. Zia Rahman, reminisces his memories and acknowledges the responsibility of making his dreams and visions come true. It wishes him a very warm birthday and prays for his eternal peace and salvation.
