Join us in building a just world where every young voice matters! Shurjodoy Youth Society is a registered youth led organization. The Vision of Shurjodoy is Build a society where every child and youth will have a safe environment, their rights, way to develop themselves, make a platform for spreading their hidden talents, free from violence and a livable climate. We are now actively working in Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Barisal. We works towards positive change in society by ensuring children's rights and protection, ending child violence, child marriage and child labor, ensuring women's rights, sexual and reproductive health and education and ensuring children and youth participation in climate action. Also helps the poor, helpless and needy people at various times. Shurjodoy is a platform for volunteering where children and youth develop their latent talents through various activities. A proud moment for Shurjodoy Youth Society! 🏆✨

We are delighted to celebrate Hasibul Islam Bappy, Executive Member of Shurjodoy Youth Society, for representing our organization at the Democracy Reels Competition 2026 and receiving a Special Recognition.

The Democracy Reels Competition 2026 was organized by Civic Youth Bangladesh in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Dhaka, as part of the International Day of Democracy Celebration 2026.

Bringing together content creators from across Bangladesh, the competition provided a meaningful platform for young people to express their ideas creatively and engage with democratic values.

The certificate was formally presented to Bappy at the International Day of Democracy 2026 celebration held at R.C. Majumdar Auditorium, University of Dhaka.

This recognition is not only a personal achievement, but also a proud moment for Shurjodoy Youth Society. We celebrate Bappy’s creativity, commitment, and efforts to use content as a tool for meaningful social impact.

Shurjodoy Youth Society is pleased to have joined the official launch of the Youth-Centric Policy Tracker, a joint initiative of ActionAid Bangladesh and Youth Policy Forum – YPF, held on 13 September 2026 at Global Platform Bangladesh.

Two representatives from Shurjodoy Youth Society participated in the launch and interactive learning session, exploring how young people can use policy, budget, indicator, and progress data to better understand and track government commitments.

The initiative offers an important opportunity to strengthen youth participation in policy processes, promote informed advocacy, and build greater public accountability.

We look forward to engaging with this platform and contributing to a stronger culture of youth-led policy monitoring and meaningful civic participation.

Shurjodoy Youth Society was proud to participate in the consultation on the Children and Young People-related section of Bangladesh’s NDC 3.0 Implementation Plan, held on 3 September 2026 at UNICEF Bangladesh.

Two representatives from Shurjodoy Youth Society joined the consultation, contributing perspectives and recommendations on how children and young people can be meaningfully engaged in the implementation of Bangladesh’s climate commitments.

The consultation, supported by UNICEF Bangladesh in collaboration with the Department of Environment (DoE) and the Department of Youth Development (DoYD), created an important space for youth organizations to share their views on making the NDC 3.0 Implementation Plan more inclusive, participatory, and child- and youth-sensitive.

Young people are not only the beneficiaries of climate action—they are already organizers, innovators, advocates, and partners in building climate resilience. Meaningful youth participation must therefore be reflected not only in policy commitments but also in implementation, decision-making, monitoring, and accountability.

We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this important national process and remain committed to ensuring that youth voices are meaningfully represented in Bangladesh's climate action and just transition.

What if the roles were reversed?

What if men were expected to take on the roles traditionally assigned to women, while women held the power, made the decisions, and ruled the spaces traditionally dominated by men?

Would we see these roles differently? Would we still consider them “normal”?

The truth is, cooking, caring, leading, working, and making decisions should never be defined by gender. It’s time to question the stereotypes and expectations that limit both women and men.

Equality begins when we stop asking, “Is this a man’s role or a woman’s role?” and start recognizing that every individual has the freedom to choose their own path.

Taking Coastal Climate Justice to the Streets.

From 10–14 July 2026, Shurjodoy Youth Society brought the stories of Bangladesh’s climate-vulnerable coastal communities to the streets through a powerful series of climate justice street dramas at Manik Mia Avenue, Agargaon, Mohammadpur, TSC and Shaheed Minar.

Our performances focused on one central reality: the people living in Bangladesh’s coastal areas are facing some of the harshest impacts of a climate crisis they did the least to cause.

Through street theatre, we highlighted the everyday realities of coastal communities, including climate-induced displacement, loss of livelihoods, salinity intrusion, water insecurity, extreme weather and the growing struggle to protect homes and futures.

The message was clear: climate change is not just an environmental issue. It is a question of justice.

By bringing these stories into public spaces, we aimed to connect people in Dhaka with the realities of communities living on the frontlines of the climate crisis—and remind everyone that coastal voices must be heard in climate decisions, policies and negotiations.

This initiative was made possible with the support of LEDARS and the collective efforts of our performers, volunteers and organisers.

From the coast to the capital, the call is the same: Listen to coastal communities. Protect their rights. Deliver climate justice.

Shurjodoy Youth Society is a youth-led organization founded in 2018 and registered with the Department of Youth Development in Bangladesh. The organization works to empower young people and create a more inclusive, just, and sustainable society, with a focus on climate action, child rights, gender equality, safe digital spaces, youth development, women’s empowerment, and humanitarian response.

Through advocacy, capacity-building, campaigns, research, and youth-led initiatives, Shurjodoy engages young people as changemakers and works with civil society organizations, development partners, and youth networks to amplify youth voices and drive meaningful social and environmental change.

As our Dhaka Divisional Partner, Shurjodoy Youth Society will play an important role in mobilizing young people and amplifying youth perspectives from the Dhaka division as part of this nationwide initiative.

We are proud to collaborate with Shurjodoy Youth Society in creating a stronger platform for young people to share their voices, shape conversations, and contribute to a more youth-responsive Bangladesh.
