WHO SPECS 2030 Initiative Launched in Bangladesh 🇧🇩👁️

A significant milestone for eye health in Bangladesh as the WHO SPECS 2030 Initiative was officially launched today at Hotel InterContinental Dhaka.

The initiative was launched by Dr. M A Muhit, MP, Honourable Minister of State, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, as the Chief Guest.

The launching ceremony brought together key stakeholders from the government, WHO, UN agencies, international organizations and the eye health sector to strengthen efforts towards addressing uncorrected refractive errors and ensuring access to quality eye care for all.

We are also pleased to share that Md. Johurul Islam Jewel, Senior Program Manager, CSF Global, joined the panel discussion on “Strengthening Eye Care Services with Specific Focus on Refractive Error and WHO SPECS 2030 Implementation in Bangladesh.”

CSF Global is proud to contribute to this important national initiative and looks forward to supporting collaborative efforts towards Universal Eye Health and Vision for All.

আজ সিএসএফ সেন্টারে গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের সমাজকল্যাণ মন্ত্রণালয়ের মাননীয় প্রতিমন্ত্রী ফারজানা শারমিন পুতুল, এমপি মহোদয়া সৌজন্য পরিদর্শনে আগমন করেন। ব্যস্ত সময়সূচির মাঝেও তিনি সেন্টারের শিশু-কিশোর ও কেয়ারগিভারদের সঙ্গে আন্তরিক মতবিনিময় করেন এবং সেন্টারের বিভিন্ন কার্যক্রম গভীর আগ্রহসহ পর্যবেক্ষণ করেন।
পরিদর্শন শেষে তিনি পরিদর্শন বইয়ে স্বাক্ষর প্রদান করেন এবং সিএসএফ প্রাঙ্গণে একটি বৃক্ষরোপণ করেন। এ সময় তিনি সিএসএফ সেন্টারের সার্বিক মঙ্গল কামনা করেন এবং ভবিষ্যতে পুনরায় পরিদর্শনের আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করেন।
মাননীয় প্রতিমন্ত্রীর সাথে উপস্থিত ছিলেন শাহজাদপুর উপজেলার উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার সাবরিনা শারমিন, সহকারী কমিশনার (ভূমি) মোঃ মুসফিকুর রহমান, এডিসি (রেভিনিউ) মোছাঃ নুর নাহার বেগমসহ অন্যান্য সম্মানিত সরকারি কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ।

Today, the Honorable State Minister of the Ministry of Social Welfare of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Ms. Farzana Sharmin Putul, MP, paid a courtesy visit to the CSF Centre. Despite her busy schedule, she warmly interacted with the children, adolescents, and caregivers at the centre and observed its various activities with keen interest.
At the end of the visit, she signed the visitors’ book and planted a tree in the CSF premises. She expressed her best wishes for the overall well-being of the CSF Centre and conveyed her interest in visiting again in the future.
Accompanying the Honorable State Minister were Ms. Sabrina Sharmin, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Shahjadpur; Mr. Md. Mushfikur Rahman, Assistant Commissioner (Land); Ms. Mosammat Nur Nahar Begum, ADC (Revenue); along with other distinguished government officials.
