Together, we turned compassion into action.

This Ramadan, because of you, 9,974 lives were impacted and BDT 65,67,425 was raised to support those who needed it most.
From access to clean water, to education, to tools for self-reliance your Zakat didn’t just give help, it gave hope, dignity, and a future.

In Mongla Bagherhat, access to safe and reliable water was once a daily uncertainty. Families lived with the constant worry of meeting their most basic need clean drinking water. Every drop counted, and every shortage carried risk to health, education, and dignity.

Today, that reality has changed. 💧

Footsteps has established a Rainwater Harvesting System in the community, capturing the blessings of every rainfall and transforming it into a safe, dependable source of water. What was once scarce and uncertain is now a source of life, hope, and resilience. Children can focus on their studies, mothers can care for their families without fear, and households can live with renewed confidence and dignity.

This system is more than infrastructure ; it is a lifeline, a promise of safety, and a pathway to a healthier, empowered future for the people of Bagherhat.

For families in Khesra and Balidaha, Satkhira district, clean drinking water was never guaranteed. Every day meant uncertainty — collecting water from unsafe sources, worrying about illness, and spending valuable time just to meet a basic need.

Today, those same ponds tell a different story. 💧

Footsteps, in partnership with Greenman as our field implementation partner, has reconstructed Pond Sand Filters (PSF) in Khesra and Balidaha, turning community ponds into safe and reliable sources of drinking water. What once carried risk now brings relief to households who depend on these ponds every single day.

This change goes beyond water. It means mothers no longer worrying about the safety of what their children drink. It means less time spent walking long distances, and more time for school, work, and family. It means healthier communities, restored dignity, and hope that something as basic as clean water is finally within reach.

Two ponds. Two communities. Countless lives touched.
Because when safe water flows, opportunity follows.

We are proud to announce that Footsteps Bangladesh has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RedOrange to collaborate on the restoration of major urban and rural canals across Bangladesh.

This partnership brings together strategy, collaboration, and shared commitment to mobilize government, private sector, and local communities for the revival of vital waterways. We look forward to working closely with RedOrange to create meaningful and lasting environmental impact.

This Ramadan, we at Footsteps had the privilege of partnering with Tamim Iqbal to highlight the true spirit of Sadaqah through the power of giving.

We identified six promising young cricketers from academies in Narayanganj who are pursuing their dreams despite financial challenges. In a special surprise, Tamim Bhai supported them with professional CA cricket gear and later joined them for iftar, where the young athletes had the chance to spend quality time, hear his journey, and receive advice from the former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team.

At Footsteps, we believe that no dream should be limited by the lack of opportunity or resources. Many young athletes dream of representing Bangladesh one day, and together with Tamim Iqbal, we are committed to standing beside these incredible talents so their dreams of playing at the highest level of world cricket continue to live on.

Dreams don’t wait. They’re built.

Tamim Iqbal and Footsteps step in to change the game, surprising 6 young cricketers with the CA Professional Cricket gear to chase greatness.

This is where journeys begin. 🏏✨

Footsteps Bangladesh had the honor of hosting the Honorable State Minister for Primary and Mass Education and MP for Dhaka-13, Bobby Hajjaj , during his visit to the Ramchandrapur and Kollyanpur canals to observe our ongoing work and discuss proposed restoration initiatives.

Over the past six months, Footsteps Bangladesh has been actively working in these canal areas, engaging with local communities and stakeholders to better understand the challenges and opportunities for restoration.

The initiative aims to restore these vital urban waterways through a collaborative partnership between the Government of Bangladesh, the Dutch Government, DNCC, RedOrange, and the local community. Together, we are working toward revitalizing these canals to improve environmental sustainability, urban resilience, and community well-being.

Through partnership and collective commitment, we believe these canals can once again become valuable resources for the surrounding communities.

Bringing Power to an Entire Island with Solar.

For decades, the people of Sonadia Dwip lived in the dark, cut off from the national grid and the opportunities that electricity brings.
Today, that story is changing.

In partnership with Prime Bank Footsteps has powered 311 homes with solar energy, bringing clean, reliable electricity to the island for the very first time. Lights now stay on after sunset, children can study at night, small businesses can grow, and families can imagine a brighter future.

This is more than just solar power. It’s energy independence, dignity, and hope for an entire island community.

Sonadia Island, once draped in decades of darkness, is now finally powered by the sun.

Empowering Communities. Changing Livelihoods

In 2013, Footsteps was born from a dream shared by a group of Changemakers who wanted to solve our society’s most challenging social problems in Bangladesh. What started as a small group of people doing a charity winter drive transformed into designing projects such as WECan and Trishna. In our journey till now, we’ve worked with over thousands of Changemakers, implemented over 10 project to change livelihoods for over 10,000 people. We are currently focusing on Project Trishna, where we are addressing Bangladesh’s water crisis by ensuring safe water access for public use as well as in margnizalied communities to transform safe water as a community building tool as well as a basic human right.

Our journey was inspired by Lao Tzu’s famous quote: “The journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step”. Our journey till now has been an incredible one in improving livelihoods, but we still have many more Footsteps to take before achieiving our goal of a better Bangladesh, and hence a better world.

We hope our work inspires you, and motivates you to join our journey as our next Changemaker. As we’d like to say:

“Be The Change. Take A Step!”
