A delegation from Integrated Development Foundation (IDF), Bangladesh, had the privilege of visiting RENEW Microfinance Private Limited (RMF), Bhutan, on 9 April 2026 for an exposure visit.
Mr. Sonam Rinzin, Chief Executive Officer of RMF, facilitated a meeting between IDF and RMF, whose leadership and insights greatly enriched the interaction. RMF plays a significant role in advancing women-centered financial inclusion and sustainable livelihood development in Bhutan which attracted us about exploring the potential for a long-term strategic partnership between RMF and IDF, particularly in key areas including experience sharing, client protection, operational strategy, human resources, and products development. These collaborations would facilitate mutual learning and significantly enhance the quality and value of services delivered by both the organizations.
It is noteworthy that RMF operates under the broader initiative of RENEW (Respect, Educate, Nurture and Empower Women), which was founded under the leadership and patronage of Her Majesty the Queen Mother of Bhutan, Gyalyum Sangay Choden Wangchuck. Her Majesty has been a longstanding advocate for women’s empowerment and social development, and her vision continues to inspire the impactful work of the organization.
The IDF team led by Founder and Executive Director Mr. Zahirul Alam. The delegation gained valuable insights into RMF’s operational approaches, strategic priorities, and its strong commitment to empowering women and strengthening community resilience. The institution’s inclusive and socially driven model was particularly commendable.
The visit provided a meaningful platform for mutual learning, knowledge exchange, and sharing of experiences in addressing common development challenges in the development sector.
