Cleanup Bangladesh aims to undertake community clean-ups, recycling initiatives, and advocacy campaigns to establish a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Bangladesh. Cleanup Bangladesh is a non-profit that has been working to raise public awareness of environmental issues dedicated to improving waste management since its inception in 2007. One of CleanUp Bangladesh's notable initiatives is the "Trash Free Dhaka" campaign, which aims to make the city of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, free of litter and waste. The campaign involves educating citizens about proper waste disposal, promoting the use of reusable bags, and partnering with businesses and government agencies to improve waste management infrastructure. They provide training and resources to teachers, organize educational events and workshops, and implement waste management programs in schools. Overall, CleanUp Bangladesh's efforts are critical in addressing the growing environmental challenges facing Bangladesh, including pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss. Through their initiatives and programs, they are working to create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for all Bangladeshis. Start doing something for Bangladesh today. Happy . 🚮

Today, volunteers are cleaning up litter for . 🚮🙌 And the EU is helping too on the ground, from Brussels to Mozambique. đŸ‡ĒđŸ‡ē

Across Europe, volunteers are tackling litter on our streets and beaches.

At the same time, the EU is reducing waste at source through measures like the Single-Use Plastics Directive and Extended Producer Responsibility, helping ensure that our consumption footprint does not leave footprints on the beach.

Less plastic. Cleaner streets. Better beaches. 💙

The world’s plastic waste could nearly triple by 2060 if we carry on as we are, according to UNEP.

Across Bangladesh, communities and volunteers are taking action. From beaches to markets and waterways, cleanup initiatives under the Department of Environment–UNIDO plastics project, funded by Norway, have collected approximately 168 tonnes of waste.

Behind that number are people giving their time to make our shared spaces cleaner. This World Cleanup Day, we thank everyone who has helped. 💙

Let’s keep it going: use less single-use plastic, separate waste, and keep litter out of our waterways.
