ইন্না লিল্লাহি ওয়া ইন্না ইলাইহি রাজিউন।

​গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের বাণিজ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের মাননীয় সচিব জনাব মাহবুবুর রহমান-এর আকস্মিক মৃত্যুতে আমরা গভীরভাবে শোকাহত।

দেশের অর্থনৈতিক এবং বাণিজ্য খাতে একজন পরিচিত মুখ ছিলেন মাহবুবুর রহমান। সততা, দক্ষতা, বিচক্ষণতা এবং চৌকস নেতৃত্বের মাধ্যমে তিনি দেশের সেবা করে গেছেন।

১৩তম বিসিএসে কাস্টমস এন্ড এক্সাইজ ক্যাডারে সুপারিশপ্রাপ্ত হন মাহবুবুর রহমান। এরপর ১৯৯৪ সালে জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ড (এনবিআর) থেকে নিজের কর্মজীবন শুরু করেন সদ্যপ্রয়াত এই কর্মকর্তা। পরবর্তীতে বাণিজ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিবের দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত হন। ৩ দশকের উজ্জ্বল কর্মজীবনে তিনি বাণিজ্য, অর্থনীতি এবং রাজস্ব খাতে এমন অবদান রেখে গেছেন, যা চিরস্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকবে!
তাঁর মতো একজন নিবেদিতপ্রাণ, দক্ষ ও সৎ নাগরিকের এমন আকস্মিক প্রয়াণ দেশ ও জাতির জন্য এক অপূরণীয় ক্ষতি।

​আমরা মরহুমের বিদেহী আত্মার মাগফিরাত কামনা করছি এবং তাঁর শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জ্ঞাপন করছি। পরম করুণাময় আল্লাহ তাঁকে জান্নাতুল ফেরদাউস নসিব করুন। আমিন।

পানি সম্পদ প্রতিমন্ত্রী Forhad Hossain Azad এর আমন্ত্রণে দেবীগঞ্জে প্রস্তাবিত অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চল ঘিরে বিনিয়োগ ও শিল্পায়নের সম্ভাবনা মূল্যায়নে মাঠ পর্যায়ে পরিদর্শন করেছেন বিকেএমইএ সভাপতি Mohammad Hatem।

পরিদর্শন শেষে বিকেএমইএ সভাপতি বলেন, “অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চল প্রতিষ্ঠার এই উদ্যোগটি সময়োপযোগী; এটি বাস্তবায়িত হলে দেশের অর্থনীতির পাশাপাশি উত্তরাঞ্চলের শিল্পায়ন ও কর্মসংস্থানে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে।”

ঐতিহ্যের সূতোয় গাঁথা আমাদের নীটওয়্যার শিল্প, দক্ষতা ও পরিশ্রমের শক্তিতে এগিয়ে চলেছে নিরন্তর। বিকেএমইএ এর নেতৃত্বে আধুনিকতা ও উদ্ভাবনের পথে এগিয়ে গিয়ে বিশ্বমঞ্চে বাংলাদেশের অবস্থান হোক আরও দৃঢ় ও গর্বের।

বিকেএমইএ এর পক্ষ থেকে সকলকে জানাই আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা ও অভিনন্দন। নতুন বছর সবার জীবনে বয়ে আনুক সমৃদ্ধি, সুখ এবং নতুন সম্ভাবনার দুয়ার।

শ্রম আইনের ২৭ ধারায় এই বিভ্রান্তি কি শ্রম মন্ত্রণালয়ের কিছু ব‍্যাক্তির ইচ্ছাকৃত? মালিক-শ্রমিক সম্পর্কে টানাপড়েন তৈরী করে শ্রম অসন্তোষ ঘটানো?! না কি ভুল বুঝার অক্ষমতা?!!!

BKMEA held a productive meeting today with foreign member factory owners to discuss the challenges and complexities they face while doing business in Bangladesh. This initiative reflects BKMEA’s continued commitment to improving the ease of doing business and fostering a more supportive industrial environment.

Mohammad Hatem, President of BKMEA, encouraged all foreign members to openly share their concerns and assured that BKMEA will actively work to address the issues raised. The participating members expressed their sincere appreciation to BKMEA for arranging such a timely and inclusive dialogue.

The meeting was attended by Mohammad Rashed, Vice President; Rajiv Chowdhury, Director; Engr. Md. Belayet Hossen Ripon, Director; along with several foreign factory owners.

Together, we move forward towards a more business friendly and sustainable future.

নারায়ণগঞ্জ শহরের ট্রাফিক ব্যবস্থাপনায় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখার স্বীকৃতিস্বরূপ নারায়ণগঞ্জ জেলা পুলিশের পক্ষ থেকে বিকেএমইএ এবং নারায়ণগঞ্জ চেম্বার অব কমার্স অ্যান্ড ইন্ডাস্ট্রিকে বিশেষ সম্মাননা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

বিকেএমইএ’র পক্ষ থেকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সভাপতি মোহাম্মদ হাতেম, সিনিয়র সহ-সভাপতি অমল পোদ্দার, সহ-সভাপতি (অর্থ) মোর্শেদ সারওয়ার সোহেল, পরিচালক মোঃ আব্দুল হান্নান, খন্দকার সাইফুল ইসলাম, মোহাম্মদ জাকারিয়া ওয়াহিদ, মোহাম্মদ নজরুল ইসলাম এবং মোঃ মহসিন রব্বানি।

উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন নারায়ণগঞ্জ জেলার পুলিশ সুপার মোহাম্মদ মিজানুর রহমান মুন্সী।

BKMEA at the Launch of Fakir Fashion Ltd.’s Sustainability Report

Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) proudly participated in the launch event of the Sustainability Report of Fakir Fashion Ltd., marking a significant milestone for Bangladesh’s knitwear industry.

On behalf of BKMEA, President Mohammad Hatem and Executive President Fazlee Shamim Ehsan attended the event as Honorable Speakers. Mohammad Rashed, Vice President joined as an Honorable Panelist in the discussion titled “From Compliance to Competitive Advantage.” The event was also graced by the presence of Md. Jamal Uddin Miah, Minhazul Hoque, and Engr. Md. Belayet Hossen Ripon, Directors of BKMEA.

Distinguished guests also included Max Tuñón, Country Director of International Labour Organization in Bangladesh; Mohammad Hasan Arif, Vice-Chairman of Export Promotion Bureau; Selim Reza Hasan, Country Manager of Solidaridad Network Asia; and Dr. Michael Klode, Head of Project, STILE II, GIZ.

Fakir Kamruzzaman Nahid, Managing Director of Fakir Fashion Ltd. and Honorable Vice President of BKMEA, delivered the closing remarks and expressed sincere thanks to all stakeholders for their support and contributions.

The BKMEA GRI Certified Sustainability Professional Team was also present at the event, reflecting the Association’s continuous engagement and technical support in advancing sustainability reporting practices across the sector.

BKMEA also extends its sincere appreciation to Solidaridad Network Asia and Susnex for their valuable collaboration and support in making this initiative a success.

As highlighted by the President, “Sustainability is no longer just a concept; it has become a global priority for the industrial sector.” This initiative, under the Sustainability Reporting Initiative Project, reflects BKMEA’s commitment to promoting environmental responsibility, social accountability, and good governance within the industry.

The publication of this report sets a strong example and inspires the sector to move towards a more sustainable and responsible future.
