Program Title: Disability-Inclusive Asset-Based Livelihood Support Program (Current Program)
Overview:
The Asset-Based Livelihood Support Program is one of IWS's flagship economic empowerment initiatives, designed to help persons with disabilities and members of underserved communities build sustainable, self-reliant livelihoods. Rather than one-time relief, the program provides productive assets — livestock, transport, assistive devices, and vocational tools — matched to each beneficiary's skills, physical needs, and local market opportunities. The goal is long-term income generation, dignity, and independence rather than dependency on aid.
What We Provided already:
Livestock Support - Goats, cows, poultry, and ducks are distributed to beneficiaries to start or expand small-scale animal husbandry, creating a renewable source of income and food security for families.
Transport & Mobility Assets- We provided Auto-rickshaws to enable beneficiaries to start income-generating transport businesses, opening access to a stable daily livelihood.
Vocational Tools - Carpentry, welding, electrical, and handicraft toolkits are distributed to trained individuals so they can immediately apply their skills and generate income in their trade.
Who Benefits:
Persons with disabilities, women, and economically disadvantaged disabled individuals within IWS's community who have completed relevant skills training or demonstrate the capacity to use these assets productively.
Our Approach
Each support package is selected based on an individual needs assessment — considering the beneficiary's physical ability, existing skills, and local livelihood opportunities — to ensure the asset translates into real, sustained income rather than a one-off gift.
Impact:
By combining tangible assets with the skills developed through IWS's training programs, this initiative helps beneficiaries move from dependency toward self-sufficiency, strengthening household income, social inclusion, and long-term economic resilience.
