Dhaka Hosts "International Togyzqumalaq Day"

Dhaka, Bangladesh – September 9, 2025:
The spirit of intellectual sports came alive in Dhaka as the International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association hosted “International Togyzqumalaq Day” at the Smart Sports Academy. The program was spearheaded by Md Al Mamun, Vice-President of the World Togyzqumalaq Federation, Founder of Togyzqumalaq in Bangladesh, and President of the International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association.
More than 60 students from different schools and colleges in Dhaka actively participated in the event. The sessions were designed to provide hands-on experience in playing Togyzqumalaq/Toguz Korgool ethnosport, while also highlighting the cultural and intellectual value of the game. Training was facilitated by instructors, Mohammad Rehanuddin and Mohammad Shahjahan.
In his remarks, Al Mamun stated: “Togyzqumalaq/Toguz Korgool is not just a game; it is a tool for intellectual growth, discipline, and cultural connection. By introducing it to our young people, we are building bridges between tradition and modern education.”
Recognized globally as a heritage mind game, Togyzqumalaq/Toguz Korgool is known to improve memory, concentration, problem-solving, creativity, and logical reasoning. It also promotes patience, resilience, sportsmanship, and confidence, making it a holistic activity suitable for all ages.
With initiatives like Togyzqumalaq Day, Bangladesh continues to strengthen its position in the global ethnosport movement while empowering youth through games that enrich both the mind and culture.
