উপকূলের হার না মানা এক নারীর গল্প: সেলিনা নাহারের স্বাবলম্বী হয়ে ওঠার লড়াই

লবণাক্ত পানি আর নিত্যদিনের সংগ্রামের জনপদ সাতক্ষীরার শ্যামনগরের বুড়িগোয়ালিনী ইউনিয়ন। এই প্রতিকূলতাকে জয় করে নিজের ভাগ্য পুরোপুরি বদলে ফেলেছেন আবাদচন্ডিপুর গ্রামের সেলিনা নাহার।

ছোটবেলা থেকেই কৃষির প্রতি গভীর টান ছিল সেলিনা নাহারের। কৃষিতে মাস্টার্স ডিগ্রি অর্জনের পরও বড় কিছু করার স্বপ্ন দেখতেন তিনি। আর এই স্বপ্ন পূরণে তাঁর সবচেয়ে বড় শক্তি ছিলেন তাঁর স্বামী মো. মোজাহেরুল ইসলাম, যিনি সবসময় জুগিয়েছেন সাহস।

ভাগ্য পরিবর্তন শুরু হয় যখন তিনি যুক্ত হন সিসিডিবির আরবি-সিপিআরপি-প্রকল্পের সহযোগিতায় গড়া ‘আবাদচন্ডিপুর নারীকল্যাণ সমিতি’র সাথে। ফোরাম থেকে মাত্র ৩০,০০০ টাকা ঋণ নিয়ে বাড়ির আঙিনায় শুরু করেন মুরগির খামার। প্রথম দফায় ২৫০টি বাচ্চা তুলে ৪৫ দিন পরিচর্যার পর বিক্রি করেন ৭০,০০০ টাকার মুরগি! সমস্ত খরচ বাদ দিয়ে লাভ আসে ৩০ হাজার টাকা।

সেলিনা নাহার এখন নিজের উপার্জিত আয়ে দুই সন্তানের ভবিষ্যৎ গড়ার পাশাপাশি পরিবারে ফিরিয়ে এনেছেন সচ্ছলতা। বর্তমানে তাঁর খামারে রয়েছে ৩০০টি মুরগির বাচ্চা, আর সামনে আরও বড় কিছু করার অদম্য স্বপ্ন।

সহযোগিতা আর সুযোগ পেলে আমাদের উপকূলের নারীরাও যে পাহাড় সমান বাধা পেরিয়ে ঘুরে দাঁড়াতে পারেন, সেলিনা নাহার সেটিই প্রমাণ করে দেখিয়েছেন।

🌏 𝗖𝗖𝗗𝗕 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗹

From 𝟭𝟳–𝟮𝟭 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, CCDB participated in the 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 under the 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗮𝗷 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, held in Nagarkot, Nepal, and hosted by the 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲.

The five-day convening brought together feminist leaders, activists, and practitioners from 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵, 𝗡𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗹, 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮, 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻, 𝗦𝗿𝗶 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗮, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗠𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮 to share experiences, learn from one another, and explore new approaches to feminist leadership and women’s rights.

𝗖𝗖𝗗𝗕 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀, who actively participated throughout the convening. A key highlight was CCDB’s dedicated session, “𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵,” held on 20 August.

Instead of a conventional presentation, the CCDB team introduced Bangladesh’s feminist journey through 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰, 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀. The session began with puthi gaan, a traditional Bengali form of sung storytelling, giving participants a glimpse into the experiences, struggles and contributions of Bangladeshi women.

The team then presented a 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵’𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, highlighting important milestones, struggles, and the contributions of women’s rights leaders. The session concluded by showcasing 𝗖𝗖𝗗𝗕’𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, along with inspiring stories of women who are creating positive change in their own communities.

Through this participation, CCDB not only shared Bangladesh’s rich feminist history and experiences 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.

Facing severe financial strain as family expenses grew, Sudha Rani from Porakatla village in Satkhira began a new chapter with the help of CCDB's 'Notun Digonto Mohila Somiti'.
With an IGA grant and a small loan from the forum, she leased land right beside her husband's fish farm to start soft-shell crab farming. Today, the couple runs a profitable business selling soft-shell crabs from her farm.
Beyond transforming her own family's financial stability, Sudha Rani now serves as the President of the forum, leading and empowering other local women to change their fortunes.
Her journey stands as powerful proof that with self-belief and the right guidance, any woman can thrive as a successful entrepreneur.

বুধবার (২ সেপ্টেম্বর) সকালে সাক্রই পাড়া আশ্রয় কেন্দ্রে আয়োজিত ত্রাণ বিতরণ অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থেকে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত পরিবারের হাতে এসব সহায়তা তুলে দেন বান্দরবান পার্বত্য জেলা পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান মাম্যাচিং।

পরবর্তীতে বান্দরবান সদর উপজেলাসহ রুমা ও রোয়াংছড়ি উপজেলার ৯টি ইউনিয়নের মোট ৬২৫টি বন্যায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত ও দরিদ্র পরিবারকে জরুরী খাদ্য সহায়তা ও প্রান্তিক এলাকায় ৩৫০টি পরিবারকে খাদ্য হাইজিন কিট ও শর্তহীন নগদ অর্থ সহায়তা প্রদান করা হবে।

𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗖𝗖𝗧 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲

With the aim of promoting gender-responsive and climate-resilient development, the 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵 (𝗖𝗖𝗗𝗕) organized a two-day training on the “𝗕𝗖𝗖𝗧 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲” on 𝟮𝟯–𝟮𝟰 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at the 𝗖𝗖𝗗𝗕 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲, 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗶, 𝗚𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗽𝘂𝗿.

The training was inaugurated by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗞𝗮𝘇𝗶 𝗥𝗮𝘄𝗻𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗹 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗺, 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 (𝗕𝗖𝗖𝗧), who graced the event as the Chief Guest.

The training aimed to strengthen the knowledge and capacity of relevant BCCT officials and stakeholders on gender-responsive climate action, gender mainstreaming in project formulation and implementation, and the effective application of the BCCT Gender Guideline.

The initiative is being implemented under the project“𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿-𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵,” with financial support from the𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻ç𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗲 𝗗é𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗔𝗙𝗗), under the 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲. The project is being implemented by 𝗖𝗖𝗗𝗕 with technical support from 𝗨𝗡 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻.

A key objective of this initiative is to institutionalize gender-responsive climate financing and actions, ensuring greater inclusion of women and girls and their meaningful participation in climate change decision-making processes.

সিসিডিবি-সিপিআরপি ফুলবাড়ীয়া প্রকল্পে কমিশন সদস্যের মতবিনিময় সভা অনুষ্ঠিত 🌾✨

গত ২২ আগস্ট ২০২৬ সিসিডিবির কমিশন সদস্য ড. কাজী তানভীর মাহমুদ ও এডাপটেশন অ্যান্ড মার্কেটিং কো-অর্ডিনেটর মি. দেবাশীষ কুমার দে ময়মনসিংহের ফুলবাড়ীয়া প্রকল্পের হাতিলেট গ্রামে ৩টি ফোরাম (পিপলস অর্গানাইজেশন) পরিদর্শন ও মতবিনিময় করেন।

এরিয়া ম্যানেজারের সভাপতিত্বে আয়োজিত সভায় হিসাবরক্ষণ কর্মকর্তা, সমাজ সংগঠক ও ৬০ জন ফোরাম সদস্য উপস্থিত ছিলেন। সভায় ফোরামের সভানেত্রীরা জানান, সংগঠনটির সাথে যুক্ত হয়ে স্থানীয় নারীরা কীভাবে তাদের জীবনযাত্রার মানোন্নয়নের পাশাপাশি পারিবারিক, সামাজিক ও অর্থনৈতিকভাবে স্বাবলম্বী হয়ে উঠছেন।

𝗠𝗱. 𝗔𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘂𝘇𝘇𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗻, Coordinator- Resilience Building, participated in the 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 on behalf of the 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵 (𝗖𝗖𝗗𝗕)
, held in 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂, 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, from 𝟭𝟮–𝟭𝟲 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

The camp brought together climate justice actors from across Asia to build shared knowledge, strengthen connections, exchange community-led experiences and develop collective action for a more just and resilient future.

At the camp, CCDB presented an exhibition showcasing its climate resilience work and community-led approaches. CCDB also contributed as one of the facilitators of the Local Structures and Systems knowledge track, creating space for participants to explore how communities build their own structures, networks and systems to address climate challenges.

As part of the track, CCDB presented its Community Climate Resilience Centre (CCRC) approach, highlighting how community-led platforms can bring people into action, connect lives and livelihoods and strengthen community resilience.

The participation was a valuable opportunity to share CCDB’s experiences, learn from diverse community-led initiatives across Asia, strengthen regional connections and contribute to collective action for climate justice.
