Research forms a core part of TRCO’s strategy to strengthen and support civil society. We identify research topics that will provide civil society with new knowledge and insights in order to improve policies and programmes. We work closely with our training, consultancy and program teams to bridge the gap between theory and practice, providing accessible, grounded insights that are useful to development policy-makers and practitioners. We also facilitate dialogue and events, such as the NGO research Program in addition to donor or government program. The NGO Research Program is the central pillar of our research support to NGOs, and provides a range of services to enhance the research capacity of NGOs and provide space for learning and reflection. Documentation & Communication
The program focuses on acquiring, management, and dissemination of development literature relating to various TRCO interventions. The component forms the hub for our networking and partnership building. Activities entail publication of position papers, press release, sensitization workshops and seminars and general awareness building. Civic Leadership, Social Accountability and Governance program
The main focus of the Civic Leadership, Social Accountability and Governance program is to create an environment for emergence of citizen leaders who volunteer to hold the governing institutions as well as implementing agencies accountable. The aim is to create an enabling climate, whereby citizens feel empowered to question the effectiveness of the developmental program that are made for them.
