Today, the 5th of August, we commemorate the anniversary of one of the most significant moments in Bangladesh's contemporary history.
What began as the Quota Reform Movement evolved into a historic mass uprising, driven by the courage, conviction, and resilience of students and people from all walks of life. Their collective determination became a defining force in shaping the nation's future, making August 5th a landmark in our history.
On this solemn occasion, Remians Debating Society pays heartfelt tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives in pursuit of justice, dignity, and a better Bangladesh. We also express our deepest respect to every student and citizen whose courage and sacrifice carried the movement forward.
As a community committed to critical thought, civic responsibility, and the pursuit of truth, we honour their legacy and reaffirm the values they stood for. May their sacrifice continue to inspire generations to uphold justice, defend democratic ideals, and work towards a more equitable and compassionate Bangladesh.
