Society of the Deaf & Sign Language Users (SDSL) 'Break the seclusion' The SDSL is a Disabled People Organization (DPO) in Bangladesh that is run by Sign Language Users. We want to make it the past.

From the very common experience of life style, history and culture, deaf people and sign language users become united and formed SDSL in 2008. We aim to represent Bangla Sign Language community.

‘Every one born equal’ – So, Bangla Sign Language users should be entitled & enjoyed the same rights, responsibilities, opportunities and quality of life as like others in the society. Bangla Sign Languag

e is recognized as a language of Bangladesh by the declaration of Prime minister on 01 February 2009, but it still does not have any legal protection and initiative to institutionalization. That means the Sign Language users do not have full access to vital information and services, including education, health and employment. So, the SDSL is campaigning for the legislation & institutionalization of Bangla Sign Language. We are also working to gain the rights for all Deaf children to receive bi-lingual education, using Bangla Sign Language and Bangla, and the right to quality and choice in education. We want to see an end to discrimination against Sign Language users, both Deaf and hearing person.
