Our art exhibition.......
Shakera Ahmed is an aspiring artist who finds joy in drawing and coloring often inspired by flowers, fruits, and the beauty of nature, using simple crayons as her medium.

However, due to the isolation brought on by her illness, she gradually drifted away from art. Much like Vincent van Gogh, the lack of recognition for her potential, combined with the weight of her struggles, left her feeling disheartened.
Yet, her story does not end there. Through art, continuous learning, and meaningful communication, Shakera has slowly rediscovered her voice transforming her experiences into expressions of resilience, healing, and hope.

Identity Inclusion celebrated their 10 Year Anniversary on Monday, March 30 at the British Council Bangladesh.

The ceremony opened with reflections from Maarya Rehman , Deputy Director of British Council, Shamsin Ahmed , the CEO and Founder, on the journey of the past decade of the organisation. This was followed by a panel discussion featuring Mahjabeen Haque , Helal Uddin Ahmed, Erum Mariam, and Sumaya Afrin Misti, where they explored the current state of mental health and the importance of community based mental health services.

The programme also featured music and poetry by Warda Ashraf and an art exhibition by Shakera Ahmed, highlighting the connection between Art, Mental Health and Inclusion.

Somewhere tonight, a girl is sitting quietly in her room, holding dreams she is not sure she is allowed to have. Somewhere, a woman is lowering her voice because she has been told too many times that speaking up makes her “difficult.”
Somewhere, someone is carrying pain that no one ever asked about.
Not because she is weak.
Not because she doesn’t deserve better.
But because she was never told something very simple and very powerful:
She has rights.
Not permissions.
Not favors given by society.
Not kindness from others.

From the Epstein files to the increasing news of r**e and exploitation of young girls in Bangladesh, we are seeing how local and global male leaders have been complicit in gender discrimination.

At Identity Inclusion, we believe every woman deserves respect, support, and equal opportunities. Through psychosocial support and community awareness, we strive to empower women to live with dignity, confidence, and hope.
