Open Letter on World Environment Day 2026
On behalf of the Global Law Thinkers Society (GLTS)
Dear Earth,
It is from you that we are born, grow up, and dream. We breathe your air, seek life in your water, and sow the seeds of the future in your soil. Yet every day, we cause you the greatest harm.
Forests are being destroyed, rivers are being polluted, biodiversity is being lost, and the impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly severe. This crisis does not belong to any one country or any one generation, it is a shared challenge for all of us.
On World Environment Day, we acknowledge that protecting the environment is not only the responsibility of governments or international organizations; it is the moral and social responsibility of every citizen. Small conscious actions can pave the way for significant change.
The Global Law Thinkers Society (GLTS) believes that building a sustainable and just world requires law, education, research, and citizen participation to work together. We call upon the younger generation, students, professionals, and conscious citizens to take an active role in environmental conservation.
Today, we pledge to-
🌿Be more responsible towards nature and the environment;
🌿Reduce the unnecessary use of plastic;
🌿Contribute to tree plantation and biodiversity conservation;
🌿Raise awareness for the establishment of environmental justice.
The Earth is not our inheritance; it is a trust borrowed from future generations. Let us fulfill our responsibility to protect that trust.

প্রিয় পৃথিবী,
তোমার কাছেই আমাদের জন্ম, বেড়ে ওঠা, স্বপ্ন দেখা। তোমার বাতাসে আমরা শ্বাস নিই, তোমার পানিতে জীবন খুঁজি, তোমার মাটিতে ভবিষ্যতের বীজ বপন করি। অথচ প্রতিদিন আমরা তোমাকেই সবচেয়ে বেশি কষ্ট দিচ্ছি।
বন উজাড় হচ্ছে, নদী দূষিত হচ্ছে, জীববৈচিত্র্য হারিয়ে যাচ্ছে, জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের প্রভাব ক্রমেই তীব্র হচ্ছে। এই সংকট কোনো এক দেশের নয়, কোনো এক প্রজন্মের নয়—এটি আমাদের সবার যৌথ চ্যালেঞ্জ।
বিশ্ব পরিবেশ দিবসে আমরা স্বীকার করি যে পরিবেশ রক্ষা শুধু সরকারের বা আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থার দায়িত্ব নয়; এটি প্রতিটি নাগরিকের নৈতিক ও সামাজিক দায়িত্ব। ছোট ছোট সচেতন পদক্ষেপই বড় পরিবর্তনের পথ তৈরি করতে পারে।
গ্লোবাল ল' থিংকার্স সোসাইটি (GLTS) বিশ্বাস করে, একটি টেকসই ও ন্যায়ভিত্তিক পৃথিবী গড়তে আইন, শিক্ষা, গবেষণা এবং নাগরিক অংশগ্রহণকে একসাথে কাজ করতে হবে। আমরা তরুণ প্রজন্ম, শিক্ষার্থী, পেশাজীবী এবং সচেতন নাগরিকদের পরিবেশ সংরক্ষণে সক্রিয় ভূমিকা রাখার আহ্বান জানাই।
আজ আমরা প্রতিজ্ঞা করি—
🌿 প্রকৃতি ও পরিবেশের প্রতি আরও দায়িত্বশীল হব;
🌿অপ্রয়োজনীয় প্লাস্টিক ব্যবহার কমাব;
🌿বৃক্ষরোপণ ও জীববৈচিত্র্য সংরক্ষণে ভূমিকা রাখব;
🌿পরিবেশগত ন্যায়বিচার প্রতিষ্ঠায় সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করব।
পৃথিবী আমাদের উত্তরাধিকার নয়; এটি আমাদের আগামী প্রজন্মের কাছ থেকে ধার নেওয়া একটি আমানত। আসুন, আমরা সেই আমানত রক্ষার দায়িত্ব পালন করি।
