World-Renowned Plant Genetic Scientist Dr. Abed Chaudhury Visits Subarta Trust’s Singair Integrated Care Center-2

Singair, Manikganj — 14 November 2025 (Friday):
Subarta Trust had the honor of welcoming globally acclaimed plant genetic scientist, rice researcher, and distinguished Bangladeshi author Dr. Abed Chaudhury to its Singair Integrated Care Center-2, an emerging model of integrated eldercare and community health support.

Dr. Chaudhury—internationally recognized for his groundbreaking work in plant genomics, crop improvement, and molecular breeding, and for his contributions to advanced rice research—visited the facility to observe Subarta’s operational model and explore areas of future collaboration.

He was warmly received by Mrs. Salina Akter, General Secretary of Subarta Trust, who presented a detailed overview of the organization’s ongoing programs, community outreach initiatives, and the current progress of the Integrated Care Center. She highlighted Subarta’s mission to build a sustainable, compassionate care ecosystem for senior citizens and underserved communities.

Also present during the visit was Mr. Shamsul Momen Palash, Environmentalist and General Member of Subarta Trust, along with other members of the management team. The gathering created a productive platform for discussions on environmental well-being, sustainable agriculture, and community-driven health innovation.

Throughout the conversation, Dr. Abed Chaudhury shared valuable guidance on enhancing integrated care, local nutrition strategies, and agricultural resilience. He also assured continued cooperation, notably through the provision of high-quality agricultural oilseeds, which will support Subarta’s nutrition, livelihood, and sustainability-focused initiatives.

তানিশা ওর পরিবারের কাছে ফেরত গিয়েছে। লাইভ করার পর পর আমরা তাঁকে আদাবর থানায় নিয়ে যাই প্রায় ৪ ঘণ্টা পুলিশ আমাদের বসিয়ে রাখেন। আমরা থানায় ডায়েরি করি ওদিকে সাভার থানায় তার বাবা ও একটি ডায়েরি করেন এবং আমরা তাঁকে তার পরিবারের কাছে ফেরত দিতে পেরেছি, আলহামদুলিল্লাহ।

গতকাল খুব বিব্রত, অসম্মানিত ও হয়রানির শিকার হতে হয়েছে আমাদের। একজন পুলিশ কর্ম কর্তা তানিশা (৬) কে জিজ্ঞাসা করেন তার ঠিকানা। সে জেলা বলতে না পারায় বলেন বয় ফ্রেন্ড নিয়ে বাসা থেকে পালিয়ে এসেছ?

এটা কি ধরনের অসভ্যতামী? একটা শিশু এর কি বোঝে? এসব অবান্তর ও হয়রানি মূলক কথা তারাই বলতে পারে যারা নোংরা ও বিকৃত মন মানসিকতা রাখেন। এরা কিভাবে জনগণের সাহায্য করবে?

পিতা-মাতার ভরণপোষণ ও চিকিৎসা:
আইন অনুযায়ী, সন্তানদের পিতা-মাতার ভরণপোষণ ও চিকিৎসার ব্যয়ভার বহন করতে বাধ্য থাকে, যা বয়স্ক ব্যক্তিদের সুরক্ষায় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

বয়স্ক ভাতা:
সমাজসেবা অধিদপ্তর কর্তৃক বয়স্ক ভাতার ব্যবস্থা করা হয়, যা দেশের প্রায় ৫০ লক্ষেরও বেশি মানুষ পেয়ে থাকেন। এটি বয়স্কদের আর্থিক সহায়তা প্রদানের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মাধ্যম।

আজ (২৮/০৮/২০২৫) সুবার্তা ট্রাস্ট কর্তৃক ২২ তম ফ্রি মেডিকেল হেলথ্ ক্যাম্প এর আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। হেলথ্ ক্যাম্পে গরিব অসহায় নারী, পুরুষ ও শিশুদের চিকিৎসা ও মেডিশিন প্রদান করা হয়। মোট ৭৩ জন এই চিকিৎসা গ্রহণ করেছেন। এর মধ্যে নারী ৩০ জন, পুরুষ ২৫ এবং শিশু ১৮ জন। এই হেলথ ক্যাম্পের কাজে সহায়তা করেছেন সোশ্যাল মেডিকেল সার্ভিসেস।উক্ত হেলথ ক্যাম্প আয়োজনের বিষয় দিক নির্দেশনা প্রদান করেন ট্রাস্টের সাধারণ সম্পাদক শেলীনা আক্তার। আরো জানা যায় এখন থেকে প্রতিমাসে ২টি করে ফ্রি মেডিকেল হেলথ ক্যাম্প আয়োজন করা হবে।

The Story of Sabitri Rani. On a stormy night in May, amidst howling winds and pouring rain, an elderly woman was found in a critical condition outside the Singair Upazila complex. She was unknown, unable to speak or walk, and completely helpless.This is where our story with her began.A Call to Compassion Responding to a request from local authorities, Subarta Trust immediately took her in. We provided her with safe shelter, dedicated non medical care, and the dignity every human being deserves. For months, she was our "Unknown Grandmother," and we became her family.The Miracle of Identity After two months of care, a breakthrough came on August 2nd. We discovered her identity: Sabitri Rani, a respected woman from a well-to-do family in Dohar, who had gone missing. The most heartbreaking detail? Her three children are all abroad and financially solvent.A Difficult Conversation While Sabitri Rani, a stroke patient, received constant care, we reached out to her capable family. We respectfully requested they cover the essential service costs of her nurturing, as is standard in such cases. Despite their apparent means, the family expressed their inability to pay for the care that saved her life.A Community's Love Refusing to let financial matters overshadow humanity, a generous donor from within the Subarta Trust community stepped forward, contributing ৳20,000 to support her care. This act of kindness ensured her well-being remained the absolute priority.A Bittersweet Homecoming Finally, on the evening of August 14th, in coordination with the Upazila Social Services Officer, we personally handed over a healthier and safer Sabitri Rani to her family. It was a moment of joy for her return, but also a sobering reminder of our mission.This story isn't just about a rescue. It's about the unwavering commitment to protect the most vulnerable, even when their own won't. It's about a community that chooses compassion, every single time.This is the heart of Subarta Trust.

গত ৩০ শে মে অজ্ঞাতনামা বৃদ্ধ অসুস্থ, বাক প্রতিবন্ধী, হাঁটতে অক্ষম একজন প্রবীণ নারীকে সুবার্তা ট্রাস্ট আশ্রয়, পরিচর্চা ও সেবার জন্য সিংগাইর উপজেলার UNO,সমাজকল্যাণ অফিসার,OC মহদোয় সকলের অনুরোধে দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করে।গত ০২/০৮/২০২৫ তারিখে ঐ অজ্ঞাতনামা নারীর পরিচয় পাওয়া যায়। সাবিত্রী রাণী দোহার থেকে হারিয়ে সিংগাইর উপজেলা কমপ্লেক্সে UN মহোদয়ের অফিসের সামনে ঝড় বৃষ্টিতে রাত ১০ টায় মরণাপন্ন অবস্থায় ছিলেন, যাকে পুলিশ উদ্ধার করে। সাবিত্রী রাণী এই এলাকার সম্ভ্রান্ত পরিবারের নারী।তার ৩ সন্তান বিদেশে রয়েছে যাদের আর্থিক অবস্থা সচ্ছল। সাবিত্রী রাণী একজন স্ট্রোকের রোগী। তার পরিবার যেহেতু সক্ষম তাই শারীরিক অক্ষম সাবিত্রী রাণীকে পরিচর্যা ব্যয় হিসেবে সুবার্তা ট্রাস্ট তার পরিবারের কাছে সার্ভিস চার্জ পরিশোধ করতে অনুরোধ জানান। কিন্তু তার পরিবার পরিচর্চা ব্যয় পরিশোধ করতে অপারগতা জানায়। এবং সুবার্তা ট্রাস্টের দাতা হিসেবে ২০,০০০/= দান করেন।গত ১৪/০৮/২০২৫ তারিখে সন্ধ্যায় উপজেলা সমাজকল্যাণ অফিসারের মাধ্যমে সাবিত্রী রাণীকে তার পরিবারের কাছে হস্তান্তর করেন সুবার্তা ট্রাস্ট।

মানসিক ভারসাম্যহীন ও ভবঘুরে নারীর রাস্তায় জন্ম নেয়া পিতৃপরিচয়হীন শিশুটি শিশু হাসপাতালে ৭ দিন life support এ থাকার পর গতকাল বিকাল ৩ টায় মৃত্যুবরণ করেছে। তার মৃত্যুর কারণ - Septic Shock & Perinatal Asphyxia,HIE & PDA(2mm),PPHN (47 mm),ASD(2mm),PT(32mm),LBW(1900 gm)

শিশু মৃত্যুর বিষয়ে শেরেবাংলা নগর থানায় GD করা হয়েছে।GD নং-. ৯৪৮ ।
শিশুটিকে গতকাল থেকে আল-মারকাজুল মরচুয়ারিতে রাখা হয়েছে। আজকে নাম পরিচয়হীন অজ্ঞাত মাতা-পিতাহীন শিশু হিসেবে আঞ্জুমান মফিদুল ইসলাম দাফনের জন্য সুবার্তা ট্রাস্ট থেকে গ্রহণ করবে।

গত ০২/০৮/২৫ রোজ শনিবার দোহার জোড়াপুল ব্রীজের উপর খোলা পরিবেশে রাস্তায় যানবাহনের ধুলিযুক্ত বাতাসে, কোন সাহচর্য ব্যক্তির অনুপস্থিতিতে, কিছুক্ষণ পর বৃষ্টিতে ভিজে, রাস্তায় কুকুরের আক্রমণ ঝুঁকিতে, মৃত পথ যাত্রী ভবঘুরে মানসিক ভারসাম্যহীন মায়ের ২ হাতের মধ্যে মৃত্যু ঝুঁকিতে থাকা এই পিতৃ পরিচয়হীন শিশুটি জন্মগ্রহণ করেছে। প্রথমে সবাই মৃত ভাবলেও পরে বৃষ্টির পানি তার মুখে পরলে কেঁদে উঠে।
