As an ardent advocate of the socially responsive legal system, Professor Dr Mizanur Rahman, Department of Law, Dhaka University and Ex-Chairman, National Human Rights Commission of Bangladesh,
established Empowerment through Law of the Common People (ELCOP) in 2000. ELCOP is a policy research and advocacy platform, composed of law teachers, human rights and legal activists, and law students of Ba

ngladesh and beyond, which received the characteristic virtues of law, and
embarked on a noble course of empowering common people through law as its name
indicates. ELCOP is a splendid vision and a sacred mission to realise that vision. ELCOP runs human rights summer school, street law, community law reform etc regularly.
