GivingTuesday Bangladesh joins Climate Justice Network National Event in Faridpur! 🌱

We are delighted to share that Mr. Shakil Azad Monon, Country Leader of GivingTuesday Bangladesh, attended as a Special Guest Speaker at the Climate Justice Network in Bangladesh (CJNB) National Assembly and Training Event, organized by Samprity Aid Foundation from 13–15 October 2025 at BRAC Learning Centre, Faridpur.

In his inspiring session on “Linking with GivingTuesday and How It Helps in Fundraising,” Mr. Monon delivered a powerful call to action—inviting all 64 participating organizations to join the GivingTuesday Global Movement as partner organizations to strengthen their fundraising and collaborative impact.

🎤 Through his slide presentation, he highlighted:

The global vision of GivingTuesday across 110+ countries.

How the movement empowers social and environmental organizations through collective giving.

Opportunities for global visibility, collaborative fundraising, and CSR engagement.

The theme “Giving for Climate Justice” — a call for uniting generosity with sustainability.

During the session, the audience expressed strong interest in becoming official GivingTuesday Bangladesh partner organizations, and several organizations began their membership registration process.

Mr. Monon also introduced Bangladesh Early Education Research Institute- BEERI — a new concern of ODIR, focusing on inclusive early education and research. The event was joined virtually by Mr. KamruzZaman , BEERI’s Founding Advisor from Germany, who shared an inspiring message for all 64 participating organizations.

The session was supported by Ms. Shamima Akhter, Member of BEERI Convening Committee, and Mr. Ashfaque Rahman Araf, Assistant Director (IT) of GivingTuesday Bangladesh Team.

The program concluded with a three-year MoU signing between ODIR Bangladesh and Samprity Aid Foundation, officially recognizing ODIR as a permanent Climate Justice Network Member under CJNB.

এই কর্মসূচিতে দেশের ৬৪টি নেটওয়ার্কভুক্ত সংগঠনের প্রতিনিধি অংশগ্রহণ করেন, যেখানে জলবায়ু ন্যায়বিচার, নেতৃত্ব উন্নয়ন এবং সম্প্রদায়ভিত্তিক স্থিতিশীলতা নিয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আলোচনা ও প্রশিক্ষণ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

ODIR Bangladesh-এর পক্ষ থেকে কার্যনির্বাহী কমিটির সদস্য ও কোষাধ্যক্ষ জনাব @রফিকুল ইসলাম সক্রিয়ভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করেন এবং আলোচনায় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মতামত প্রদান করেন।

ODIR Bangladesh joins 3-Day National Network Event on Climate Justice and Resilience! 🌿

Warm greetings from Organization for Disabled Improvement and Rights (ODIR)! 💚

ODIR Bangladesh has proudly participated as an active network member in the three-day National Network Meeting, Climate Leadership Session, and Training on Monitoring & Fundraising, organized by the Climate Justice Network inBangladesh (CJNB) under the Climate Justice Resilience Network Project.

📍 Venue: BRAC Learning Centre, Faridpur
📅 Date: 13–15 October 2025
🕓 Arrival: 12 October (Evening) | Departure: 15 October (3:00 PM)

The event brought together representatives from 64 network organizations across Bangladesh to strengthen collaboration for climate justice, leadership, and community resilience.

From ODIR Bangladesh, Mr. Islam, Executive Committee Member and Treasurer, attended the event, actively engaging in all sessions and discussions.

📘 BEERI Launches in Bangladesh: A New Chapter for Early Education, Research & Social Development

The Bangladesh Early Education Research Institute (BEERI) has officially launched with a mission to promote inclusive, research-driven early childhood education across the nation.

The daylong national seminar, held on 11 October at Jaijaidin MediaPlex, Tejgaon, gathered educators, volunteers,and social development oorganizationand professionals from different regions of Bangladesh.
The event was attended by organizing committee members Shamima Akter, Saifur Rahman Khokon, R afiqul Islam, and was moderated by Sanaha.
BEERI operates as an associate institution of the Organization for Disabled Improvement and Rights (ODIR) In Partnerships collaboration with Bangladesh, Social enterprises innovation with Eco concern and NHL, Priyo (Organic & Hygienic foods), Media partners: Jaijaidin & Giving Now Magazine

In his welcome address, BEERI’s Chief Convener Shakil Azad Monon stated:

“Our mission is to build a time-relevant, research-based and inclusive early education system—where teachers can actively participate in research and every child gets the right to learn and grow, and where various voluntary organizations, social development institutions also get the opportunity to engage in income-generating programs through social enterprises.

Joining virtually from Germany, BEERI Advisor, Child Education Researcher, and IT Specialist Mr. Kamruzzaman said:
“I’ve been working on early education in Bangladesh for over 30 years. It’s time to ensure research-based learning materials, nutritious food, and a healthy environment for children—BEERI is committed to making that vision real.”

Following the seminar, around 60 participants—including teachers, development professionals, and heads of social and volunteer organizations from across Bangladesh—officially joined BEERI’s membership.
All members expressed their shared commitment to advancing BEERI’s mission and contributing to future nationwide initiatives in early education and research.

১৩-১৯ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৫ তারিখে ঢাকার দক্ষিণখানস্থ বিপিকেএস কমপ্লেক্সে অনুষ্ঠিত The 1st Training Event on Peacebuilders Advocates with Disabilities (PADs)–এর পঞ্চম দিনে বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য রাখার সুযোগ পেয়েছেন GivingTuesday Bangladesh এর কান্ট্রি লিডার এন্ড সিইও Shakil Azad Monon

আলোচনার বিষয় ছিলো— “GivingTuesday শান্তি প্রতিষ্ঠায় মানুষকে উৎসাহিত করে”। সেখানে মি. শাকিল আজাদ মনন তার বক্তব্যে GivingTuesday আন্দোলনের মূল বার্তা, এর বৈশ্বিক প্রভাব ও বাংলাদেশের সম্ভাবনার কিছু দিক তুলে ধরেন এবং গিভিংটুয়েসডের পিচ ডেক- স্লাইড প্রেজেন্টেশনের পর বেশ কয়েকটি সংগঠন এই আন্দোলনে অংশীদার হতে আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করে, যা নিঃসন্দেহে বাংলাদেশের উদারতা আন্দোলনকে আরও এগিয়ে নেবে।

আমাদের দৃঢ় বিশ্বাস—যেখানে উদারতা আছে, সেখানেই টেকসই শান্তি প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়। তাই GivingTuesday –এর মাধ্যমে আমরা এমন একটি প্ল্যাটফর্ম গড়ে তুলতে চাই যেখানে সহযোগিতা, মানবতা ও শান্তি একসূত্রে গাঁথা থাকবে।

The Power of Generosity in Building Peace❗️

On the 5th day of the 1st Training Event on Peacebuilders Advocates with Disabilities (PADs), held from 13–19 September 2025 at the BPKS Complex, Dhaka, Mr. Shakil Azad Monon, Country Leader & CEO of GivingTuesday Bangladesh, was honoure to join as a speaker guest.

His keynote address, titled “GivingTuesday Inspires People for Peacebuilding”, emphasized the core message of the GivingTuesday movement, its global impact, and the unique potential it holds for Bangladesh. Following his presentation and pitch deck slides, several organizations expressed keen interest in joining the movement as partners—an encouraging step toward advancing the generosity movement in Bangladesh.

Mr. Monon firmly believes: “Where generosity exists, sustainable peace can be established.” Through GivingTuesday, the vision is to build a platform where collaboration, humanity, and peace are interwoven, creating a stronger foundation for social harmony.

"জাতীয় সামাজিক সুরক্ষা সম্মেলন ২০২৫ সফলভাবে সমাপ্ত

১–৩ সেপ্টেম্বর তিন দিনব্যাপী “জাতীয় সামাজিক সুরক্ষা সম্মেলন ২০২৫” সমতার ভিত্তিতে অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক সমাজ গঠনের মূল প্রতিপাদ্য নিয়ে আজ সমাপ্ত হয়েছে। বাংলাদেশ সরকারের মন্ত্রিপরিষদ বিভাগ, ইউএনডিপি’র সোশ্যাল সিকিউরিটি পলিসি সাপোর্ট (SSPS) প্রোগ্রাম ও অস্ট্রেলিয়ান হাই কমিশনের সহযোগিতায় এই সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সম্মেলনটি “জাতীয় সামাজিক সুরক্ষা কৌশল (২০১৫–২০২৬)” সমাপ্তির এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মাইলফলক এবং সম্মেলনে ২০২৬ সালের পর বাংলাদেশের পরবর্তী প্রজন্মের সামাজিক সুরক্ষা কাঠামো প্রণয়নে একটি অগ্রগতিমূলক রূপরেখা নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে।

✅ Successful Conclusion of the National Social Security Conference 2025

The three-day National Social Security Conference 2025 (1–3 September), held under the theme “Building an Inclusive and Equitable Society”, concluded today. Organized by the Cabinet Division of the Government of Bangladesh, in partnership with the UNDP Social Security Policy Support (SSPS) Programme, and funded by the Australian High Commission, the conference marked an important milestone in concluding the National Social Security Strategy (2015–2026) and shaping a new framework for the future.

🔹 Highlights from Parallel Session 2
👉 Aminul Arefin, Programme Manager, UNDP – presented research on Social Protection Framework for Persons with Disabilities and Mapping of Protection Needs of Marginalized Communities.
👉 Ayon Debnath, Campaign Adviser, Sightsavers – shared 20 years of experience on disability rights, policy gaps, and challenges.
👉 Amrita Rejina Rozario, Country Director, Sightsavers – emphasized the need for increased disability allowances.
The session was chaired by Dr. Mohammad Abu Yousuf, Secretary, Ministry of Social Welfare.
👉 ODIR Bangladesh actively participated and raised questions on accreditation and MPO inclusion of special schools for persons with disabilities.
