Hazera Apa radiates love and strength the moment you step into her home, the shelter Shishuder Jonno Amra. Here, she is a mother to 40 children who have no home of their own, who society often rejects and labels with stigma simply because their mothers were forced into s*x work and have endured violence and abuse.
Hazera Apa’s story began in that same place. But she rose from it, reclaimed her life, and became a leader, now heading the Street S*x Workers Association and working tirelessly to protect women and their children from facing the same fate. The children she has raised are bright, full of life, and carry so much hope for the future. Her kindness is unforgettable, and her strength leaves a lasting mark on everyone who meets her.
This Eid, we wanted to share our happiness with these children and make them feel the warmth of family and belonging. We arranged a hearty iftar filled with their favorite foods and ensured they could celebrate Eid with home cooked meals. We also provided all the groceries and meat needed so their days could be full of smiles and comfort.
Seeing their excitement, especially when they received toys, colouring kits, mehendi sticks, and accessories from .bd_ , was truly special.
We are deeply grateful to our hardworking team and generous donors who made this possible. Eid is a time for unity, for sharing joy, and for making sure no one is left behind. Hazera Apa’s faith, resilience, and compassion remind us that the world needs more people like her.
