📅 On 10th April, 2026, 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 organized an insightful and memorable industrial tour to the 𝐒𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐣𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐣 𝟔𝟖 𝐌𝐖 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 (𝐁𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐋), as part of the 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐒 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. The tour was open to all EEE students of AUST, from which 56 enthusiastic participants were selected to be part of this experience.
Located on 214 acres of land in Saydabad, Sirajganj, along the banks of the Jamuna River, this large-scale solar power plant supplies around 68 MW of electricity to the national grid every day, playing an important role in the country’s renewable energy sector.
The tour was honored by the presence of our respected faculty members: 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐎𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐤(Professor), 𝐌𝐫. 𝐒. 𝐉. 𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐦 (Lecturer), 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐭𝐮 (Assistant Professor) and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐍𝐚𝐳𝐧𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚(Assistant Professor) whose support and guidance made the visit even more meaningful.
The experience was both exciting and enlightening. During the visit, we explored different parts of the plant, including the vast solar panel field, control room, and feeder system. The plant engineers gave us an engaging presentation on how the entire system works from solar energy generation to real-time monitoring and integration into the national grid.
Seeing everything in real life made a huge difference. Concepts we usually study in books felt much clearer when we observed how such a large-scale system is actually operated and maintained.
The hospitality of the plant officials was truly appreciated. They patiently explained each part of the system and answered all our questions, making the whole experience more interactive and enjoyable.
Overall, it was a day full of learning, curiosity, and inspiration towards a cleaner and more sustainable future. A group photo at the end marked the conclusion of this wonderful visit.
