This year, the National Earth Olympiad (NEO) introduced the E-STEM Action Project Award to promote student-led, science-based community actions addressing environmental challenges around us.

NEO 2026 participants and alumni from classes 8–12 submitted project ideas tackling a range of environmental issues, including pollution, conservation, resource efficiency, waste management, ecological restoration, and sustainable community practices.

Following a rigorous selection process, six projects have been selected to receive the award. Through mentorship and award money from BYEI, these students will design and implement projects in their communities, demonstrating applied E-STEM solutions and environmental citizenship.

The Award Ceremony and Reception of the 13th National Earth Olympiad (NEO) was graciously hosted by the French Ambassador to Bangladesh, H.E. Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet on 13 June.

The ceremony recognised and honoured the country's top-performing participants for their exceptional achievements.

The event also brought together a diverse community of leaders from various sectors — including students, educators, academics, policymakers, politicians, diplomats, civil society leaders, public servants, and other professionals — to celebrate the achievements of our future leaders and the spirit of youth-led climate and environmental action in Bangladesh.

The winners of NEO 2026 will represent Bangladesh in the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) 2026 this August in Turin, Italy. For more updates, stay tuned.

EcoBangla Youth Organization ও AGUN Alliance-এর আয়োজনে এবং Bangladesh Youth Environmental Initiative (BYEI) ও Roots People-এর সহযোগিতায় গত ৫ মে সাতক্ষীরা জেলার শ্যামনগর উপজেলার মুন্সিগঞ্জ ইউনিয়নে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে “পানির কথা” শীর্ষক একটি জনসংলাপ।

এই কর্মসূচির মূল উদ্দেশ্য ছিল সরকারি সেবার আওতায় উপকূলীয় অঞ্চলের মানুষের জন্য নিরাপদ সুপেয় পানির প্রাপ্যতা নিশ্চিত করার বিষয়টি সামনে আনা।

অনুষ্ঠানে উপকূলীয় অঞ্চলে সুপেয় পানির সংকট, মানুষের দৈনন্দিন সংগ্রাম, পানির গুরুত্ব, সম্ভাব্য উৎস এবং টেকসই সমাধান নিয়ে আলোচনা করা হয়।

উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে সাতক্ষীরা-৪ (শ্যামনগর) আসনের নির্বাচিত জনপ্রতিনিধি উপস্থিত ছিলেন। স্থানীয় জনগণ সরাসরি তাদের ভোগান্তি ও সমস্যার কথা তুলে ধরেন। জনসাধারণের বক্তব্যের ভিত্তিতে মাননীয় সংসদ সদস্য ঘোষণা করেন যে আগামী ১–২ মাসের মধ্যে উপকূলীয় অঞ্চলের বড় বড় পুকুর জনগণের ব্যবহারের জন্য উন্মুক্ত করা হবে। পাশাপাশি প্রতিটি গ্রামে একটি করে দিঘি খননের উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হবে।

এছাড়াও দীর্ঘমেয়াদি সমাধান হিসেবে পাইপলাইনের মাধ্যমে নিরাপদ পানি সরবরাহের বিষয়েও তিনি আশ্বাস দেন এবং বিষয়টি জাতীয় সংসদে উত্থাপন করবেন বলে জানান।

We are pleased to announce the results of the National Round of the National Earth Olympiad (NEO) 2026.

The examination was held simultaneously across all divisions and the Cumilla region of Bangladesh. The results reflect overall national performance and are not ranked division-wise.

Congratulations to all the qualifiers for their outstanding performance. The qualifiers will soon receive an official email containing instructions on the next steps, including details on how to qualify for the Team Selection Exam, scheduled to take place in June 2026.

To everyone who took part but could not make it to the next stage, you have done very well in what was a highly competitive round. We encourage you to continue pursuing your interest in Earth and environmental science and to stay connected with NEO in the coming years.

Congratulations to the Dhaka Divisional Toppers for successfully completing the Green Day Training (GDT). Welcome to the NEO Alumni Network!

As part of the alumni network, they will have the opportunity to design and implement E-STEM Action Projects in their communities, addressing pressing local environmental challenges through innovation and impact 🌍

Also, they will compete in the National Round of NEO 2026, and the top four participants will be selected to represent Bangladesh at the International Earth Science Olympiad 2026 in Turin, Italy 🇮🇹

আজকের Green Day Training (GDT) ওয়ার্কশপের অন্যতম একটি সেশন ছিলো কেস স্টাডি প্রেজেন্টেশন - যা শিক্ষার্থীদের বিশ্লেষণধর্মী চিন্তা, সমস্যা সমাধান দক্ষতা এবং বাস্তব জীবনের পরিবেশগত চ্যালেঞ্জ মোকাবেলায় সৃজনশীলতা বিকাশে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রেখেছে।

এই সেশনগুলোতে অংশগ্রহণকারীরা দলগতভাবে কাজ করে বিভিন্ন বাস্তব সমস্যার সমাধান খুঁজে বের করার চেষ্টা করেছে, যা তাদের নেতৃত্বদানের সক্ষমতা আরও শক্তিশালী করেছে !

ঢাকাতে আজ অনুষ্ঠিত হচ্ছে 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗚𝗗𝗧)! এখন পর্যন্ত অংশগ্রহণকারীরা Planetary Boundaries, এবং National Earth Olympiad (NEO) 2026-এর থিম " 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺" এই সেশনগুলোতে অংশগ্রহণ করেছে। এছাড়াও তারা বিভিন্ন মজার গ্রুপ অ্যাক্টিভিটিতেও যুক্ত হয়েছে।

এই অভিজ্ঞতা অংশগ্রহণকারীদের চিন্তা, দক্ষতা ও দৃষ্টিভঙ্গিতে নতুন মাত্রা যোগ করেছে। শুধু শেখা নয়, বাস্তবে কিছু করার আত্মবিশ্বাসও তৈরি করেছে।
