The absence of adequate lighting following dusk can significantly heighten safety and protection concerns for displaced families. It can impede mobility, create challenges for children attempting to study, and complicate access to essential facilities such as toilets, water points, and health services.
Consequently, CIS has provided solar lights equipped with panels to beneficiaries in Bidur, Nuwakot, and an additional solar lights in the Uttargaya municipality. CIS has conducted a visit to the Grang area, where many of the flood-affected communities are currently residing. During this visit, CIS representatives carried out thorough household assessments to identify and document the individuals and families most impacted by the flooding. They compiled a comprehensive list of those affected to ensure that assistance can be accurately allocated. In addition to these assessments, CIS distributed solar lights along with solar panels to the residents, providing them with a reliable source of energy in the wake of the disaster. This initiative aims to improve their living conditions and help the communities regain a sense of normalcy during this challenging time.
