The organization formed in 2014. CIS is registered with Joint Stock Company and NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh.

In the aftermath of the recent fire at Korail Slum, many families are facing immense hardship. To offer warmth and support during this difficult time, CIS and A-PAD distributed blankets to the fire-affected people, hoping to bring a little comfort and care to their lives.

In response to the recent fire outbreak in Korail Slum, CIS and A-PAD continuing Emergency Health Camps to support affected families and communities.
The camps provided Free Medical Check-Ups, Basic Treatment, First Aid, Tetanus Vaccination and Essential Medicines, with special attention to children, elderly people, and those suffering from cut injuries, common cold and related health issues.
This initiative aims to ensure immediate healthcare access during a difficult time and to stand in solidarity with families rebuilding their lives after the fire.

Community Initiative Society (CIS), in partnership with the Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (A-PAD), is engaged in the distribution of non-food items to communities affected by the recent fires in the Korail Slum. The CIS distribution policy is designed to address the needs of the impacted communities and ensure the provision of essential supplies.

🔴 Emergency Support for Korail Fire Victims
Recently, a devastating fire swept through Dhaka’s largest slum, destroying nearly 1,500 homes and leaving thousands of families without shelter, food, or basic necessities.
In response to this tragedy, Community Initiative Society (CIS) immediately sent a field team to assess the situation and begin relief activities. With the support of dedicated doctors and paramedics, CIS is organizing a 2-day emergency health campaign, providing:
✅ Free medical checkups
✅ Essential medicines
✅ First-aid support
✅ Health awareness and counseling
Our goal is to stand beside the affected families during this difficult time and ensure they receive urgent medical assistance.
