Participation of Executive Director of Center for Governance and Development - CGD, Saidul Islam at URIIS 2026 | World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur

Saidul Islam, Executive Director of the Center for Governance and Development (CGD), participated in the University Research & Innovation Investment Summit (URIIS) 2026 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as a civil society representative and researcher.

Held under the theme “Turning Ideas into Impact,” the summit brought together leading voices from research, innovation, technology, investment, sustainable development, and university–industry collaboration, highlighting the importance of transforming knowledge and research into meaningful real-world impact.

His participation provided an opportunity for knowledge exchange, professional networking, and engagement with researchers, policymakers, innovators, investors, and industry stakeholders on emerging opportunities in research and innovation.

The summit featured distinguished Malaysian leaders, including:

• YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi — Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia
• YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir — Minister of Higher Education
