For Serving the People Our moto is to serve the needy and vulnerable populations by implementing a wide range of humanitarian and development programs.

SHEBA MANAB KALLYAN KENDRA (SMKK) is a non-profit, non-political humanitarian development organization working in Bangladesh since January 1996. These programs include Agriculture & Sustainable Livelihood, Climate Change, Resilient, Emergency Response & Recovery, Rehabilitation, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Education, Health & Nutrition, Women Empowerment, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). Capacity Development Programs, Vocational Training and Knowledge Management events are significantly important programs. We give emphasize Peoples with Disability, Ethnic & Minority Groups. We have been working in different agro-ecological zones in Bangladesh.

Under the NAGORIKATA: SCEGE-CVC project, women’s leadership training sessions were successfully conducted across different unions of Galachipa, Kalapara, Barguna Sadar, and Betagi Upazilas of Barishal.

Through these sessions, women were encouraged to recognize their own leadership potential and strengthen their participation in community development, climate action, and local decision-making processes.

The project is being implemented by SMKK with support from FMA–GFA, and funded by the Embassy of Switzerland, Global Affairs Canada (GAC), and the European Union (EU).

Youth Taking Action for a Cleaner Canal!

The Fuljhuri Climate Justice Youth Forum, under the NAGORIKATA–SCEGE-CVC Project, installed a low-cost floating waste trap in Gowrichhonna Choto Khal, Barguna Sadar.

Using locally available materials, the youth created a simple solution to collect floating plastic, polythene, and other waste while raising community awareness on protecting water bodies and keeping the environment clean.

SMKK is implementing the project with support from FMA-GFA, funded by the Embassy of Switzerland, GAC, and EU.

NAGORIKATA: SCEGE-CVC Project – Review Meeting on Activities and Progress

On Tuesday, 25 August 2026, the Executive Director of SHEBA MANAB KALLYAN KENDRA (SMKK) attended an important review meeting with the teams from Barguna and Betagi Upazilas at the project office of the NAGORIKATA: SCEGE-CVC Project.

The meeting focused on the current status of project activities, ongoing progress, achievements, activities under implementation, and future plans. Detailed discussions were held on ensuring more effective and result-oriented implementation of field-level activities, maintaining the quality of ongoing work, and providing necessary guidance for the proper ex*****on of upcoming initiatives.

We sincerely thank Creative Services Limited (CSL) for visiting SMKK's Bagerhat office and engaging with our communities, stakeholders, local government representatives, and project teams.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to interact with climate-vulnerable communities, explore ongoing initiatives, visit potential project sites in both rural and urban settings, and exchange ideas with our field staff.
