Association for Climate & Environmental Research (ACER) is a research-based voluntary environmental conservation organization striving to engage the global youth cohort in proactive volunteering to tackle the climate crisis and combat environmental deterioration at local and global levels. With the motto "Rapid Action through Rigorous Research", ACER aims to convene a generation of efficient young
minds that our planet is in dire need of who can make a conscious choice to mitigate climate change and promote environmental conservation through extensive research and compatible rapid action. The current climate crisis urgently requires multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder responses as the catastrophic consequences of climate change have already begun. Volunteers can help climate action go further, faster, and together by being the first responders to the climate crisis in their communities by helping map & monitor climate change around them by raising voice & individual action for climate resilience irrespective of caste, creed or profession. Again, environmental pollution, species extinction, extreme exploitation of natural resources, deterioration of environmental quality and ecological imbalance have threatened our very existence in life. This scenario should be changed right away which may get expedited by sensible volunteer interventions. Researchers cm volunteers of ACER will extensively research on all the arenas connected with climate change, environmental conservation & promotion and devote themselves in community-based actions. Anticipation of future problems, needs, or changes regarding the aforementioned aspects and producing fact-driven reports will be a key responsibility of the volunteers of ACER. Missions of ACER also include developing basic knowledge required to initiate national and international policies on climate; keep the country's politicians, public authorities, industry, educational institutions, media and public opinion, and the international community informed about trends of development with regard to international policies on climate and ensuring conscientious planning by governments and non-governmental organizations to recognize, encourage and sustain local, community-based environmental actions. Our researchers will also be engaged in international collaborations, externally funded research projects, writing and editing significant publications, collaborating with civil society organizations and practitioners, organizing conferences, and supervising students. In a word, volunteer-researchers of ACER will delve into the most pressing challenges – from flooding to eroding ecosystems – to identify the role insurers and other stakeholders can play to help mitigate and adapt to the new normal. They will also be the accelerator for the SDGs giving a specific focus on climate action and inequality. They will be contributing to understanding – and shaping transformations – in the way societies interact with energy, technology & the living environment and ceaselessly working to ensure climate justice at local, regional, and international scales. Young leaders who know the facts of climate change and environmental problems more explicitly & extensively, can play more effective roles locally and globally.
