International Women’s Day 2026
Youth Action for Development (YAD) observed International Women’s Day 2026 under the Youth Share-Net Project with the global theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls.”
The programme was held at Shahid Ramiz Uddin Ma O Shishu Kalyan Kendra, bringing together youth, community members, and experts for a meaningful panel discussion on child marriage and teenage pregnancy.
We were honored to have our respected panel guests:
• Dr. Selina Akter Lipi, Senior Consultant, Shahid Ramiz Uddin Ma O Shishu Kalyan Kendra
• Hazrat Mawlana M***i Shaikh Muhammad Usman Gani
• Tania Akter, Paralegal, BLAST (Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust)
The panel discussion was moderated by Khaleda Yasmin, Director – Health and Gender, while the programme began with a welcome speech by Montaher Arafat, President, Youth Action for Development (YAD).
The discussion highlighted the importance of protecting the health, rights, and dignity of women and adolescent girls, particularly addressing the challenges of child marriage and teenage pregnancy.
The programme concluded with an awareness rally, where participants expressed their commitment to promoting women’s rights and preventing child marriage.
We sincerely thank all our respected guests, participants, and partners for making this programme meaningful and impactful.

অমর একুশে ও আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস

রক্তে ভেজা সেই অমর একুশে, যা আমাদের শিখিয়েছে মাথা নত না করার অমর কবিতা। ১৯৫২ সালের এই দিনে মাতৃভাষার মর্যাদা রক্ষায় যারা রাজপথে নিজেদের প্রাণ উৎসর্গ করেছিলেন, সেই সকল ভাষা শহীদের প্রতি 'ইয়ুথ একশন ফর ডেভেলপমেন্ট (YAD)' পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে জানাই বিনম্র শ্রদ্ধা।

আমাদের ভাষা, আমাদের গর্ব। তরুণের হাত ধরেই বেঁচে থাকুক আমাদের প্রাণের বর্ণমালা।

Youth Action for Development (YAD) is pleased to be part of the Youth Share-Net Project, supported by AmplifyChange, through the Youth Share-Net Project Kick-off Dialogue and Orientation 2026, organised by RedOrange and Share-Net Bangladesh.

The dialogue brought together implementing partners and key stakeholders to align a shared vision for strengthening youth-led Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) knowledge, ethical engagement, and collaborative action at the grassroots level.

As an implementing partner of the Youth Share-Net Project, YAD looks forward to contributing through youth-led initiatives, evidence-informed approaches, and inclusive partnerships that connect community realities with national SRHR priorities, ensuring sustainable impact for young people across Bangladesh.

We are proud to share that PushtiUtsab – Youth-led Mobile Nutrition Festival has successfully completed its Collective Action under the Youth-Led Collective Action Grant supported by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), in collaboration with SUN Youth Network Bangladesh.

Through this initiative, our youth-led team engaged adolescents and community members through school and community-based nutrition campaigns, interactive learning games, BMI awareness activities, SBCC materials, and advocacy for healthy diets, food systems awareness, urban gardening, and composting practices.

As a recognition of this collective effort and impact, we are honored to receive the Certificate of Acknowledgement from GAIN, marking the successful completion of our grant-supported action.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of our Youth Nutrition Ambassadors, the support of schools and community stakeholders, health partners, and the guidance of GAIN and SUN Youth Network Bangladesh.

We remain committed to advancing youth leadership, nutrition awareness, and sustainable food systems at the community level.

“Empowering Coastal Communities: Addressing Climate Change and Resilience” প্রকল্পের আওতায় এবং COAST Foundation–এর সহায়তায় ৪০ জানুয়ারি ২০২৬ তারিখে BDR ০৫ নং গেট এলাকায় একটি কমিউনিটি সচেতনতা কার্যক্রম আয়োজন করা হয়।

এই কার্যক্রমে সিঙ্গেল ইউজ প্লাস্টিকের ক্ষতিকর প্রভাব, বর্জ্য ব্যবস্থাপনার গুরুত্ব এবং ভূমিকম্পকালীন করণীয় বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা করা হয়। স্থানীয় যুব ও নারীদের সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণের মাধ্যমে পরিবেশ সংরক্ষণ, জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন মোকাবিলা এবং দুর্যোগ প্রস্তুতিতে সম্মিলিত ভূমিকার গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরা হয়।

আমরা Youth Action for Development পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে গভীর শোক ও দুঃখের সঙ্গে জানাচ্ছি সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী ও বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসন বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার ইন্তেকালের খবর। আজ ভোর ৬টায় তিনি শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেছেন—এই সংবাদে আমরা গভীরভাবে মর্মাহত।
বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে প্রথম নারী প্রধানমন্ত্রী হিসেবে বেগম খালেদা জিয়া গণতন্ত্র, নারীর রাজনৈতিক ক্ষমতায়ন এবং সামাজিক অধিকার প্রতিষ্ঠায় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রেখেছেন। নারী নেতৃত্বের পথ প্রশস্ত করা এবং রাজনীতিতে নারীর অংশগ্রহণ বাড়াতে তাঁর অবদান জাতির ইতিহাসে স্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকবে।
দীর্ঘ রাজনৈতিক জীবনে তাঁর দৃঢ়তা, নেতৃত্ব ও সংগ্রাম বাংলাদেশের রাজনৈতিক ইতিহাসে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অধ্যায়। তাঁর ইন্তেকালে দেশ একজন প্রভাবশালী রাজনৈতিক ব্যক্তিত্বকে হারাল।
এই শোকাবহ সময়ে আমরা তাঁর শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবার, শুভানুধ্যায়ী ও দেশবাসীর প্রতি আন্তরিক সমবেদনা জানাচ্ছি। একই সঙ্গে সকলের প্রতি শান্তি, সহমর্মিতা ও ঐক্য বজায় রাখার আহ্বান জানাই।

Youth Action for Development (YAD) was honored to be a partner organization at the Knowledge Fair 2025—a dynamic platform that connected youth leadership, grassroots innovation, and impactful dialogue around SRHR and social change.

Throughout the fair, YAD showcased its community-based work on SRHR awareness, menstrual health support, and girls’ social business initiatives, demonstrating how youth-led knowledge can translate into sustainable action for marginalized communities.

As the Knowledge Fair concluded, the journey became even more meaningful for us. We are proud to share that our General Secretary, Yasin Arafat Rabby, received the SRHR Youth Leadership Award 2025, recognizing his dedication to youth-led SRHR advocacy and community empowerment. This achievement reflects the collective efforts, passion, and commitment of the entire YAD team.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the organizers, partners, and everyone who engaged with our stall and conversations. With renewed inspiration, YAD continues its mission to amplify youth voices and transform knowledge into dignity, empowerment, and lasting impact.
