MTB Foundation celebrates the Completion of First Batch of MTB UCEP Skills Training Institute (MUSTI)

MTB Foundation recently celebrated the successful graduation of the first batch of MTB UCEP Skills Training Institute (MUSTI), the flagship project of MTB Foundation under the ‘Education’ sector by distributing certificates to the graduates who successfully completed the six-month market-relevant skills training accredited by National Skills Development Authority (NSDA). The ceremony marks a significant milestone in the journey of project MUSTI, which aims to provide skills training to 1,200 underprivileged youth over a period of three years. Crests were awarded to top performing trainers in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the successful implementation of the course.

Under this program, trainees completed their training across five specialized trades, namely; Beautification, Tailoring and Dress Making, Bakery and Pastry Production, Graphic Design, and Electrical Installation and Maintenance equipping them with industry-relevant technical competencies and professional skills aimed at enhancing employability and promoting entrepreneurship.

The certificate distribution ceremony of the first batch of the MTB UCEP Skills Training Institute (MUSTI) was held in the presence of Rais Uddin Ahmad, Deputy Managing Director, Md. Nazrul Islam, Branch Manager, MTB Mymensingh Branch, Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) and Samia Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer, Golam Rabbani & Nazmus Sakib, Associates of MTB Foundation. MTB Foundation hosts Flag-off Ceremony for Sultana’s Dream Unbound Himalayan Expedition

MTB Foundation, as part of its project titled ‘Climbing for Climate, Building for Communities - A Climate Resilience Initiative of MTB Foundation’ recently organized a flag-off ceremony for a pioneering Bangladeshi mountaineer, Yasmin Lisa, as she embarks on her high-altitude Himalayan expedition. The flag-off ceremony marked the naming of Yasmin Lisa as a Climate Change Ambassador of MTB Foundation in its mission to implement impact-driven initiatives aimed at strengthening climate resilience at the grassroots level.

Inspired by Begum Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain’s feminist utopian story ‘Sultana's Dream’, MTB Foundation, as part of its commitment to strengthening women empowerment, supports Sultana’s Dream Unbound of Abhijatri, founded by Nishat Mazumder, Bangladesh's first female Mount Everest conqueror. The initiative is expected to reinforce MTB Foundation’s efforts to encourage women from all levels to break barriers and lead with dignity, thus, ensuring inclusive development.

The flag-off ceremony was attended by Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO, Rais Uddin Ahmad, Deputy Managing Director & CAMLCO from Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) and Samia Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer from MTB Foundation. MTB Foundation observes World Thalassaemia Day 2026

To observe the ‘World Thalassaemia Day 2026’, MTB Foundation, in partnership with Bangladesh Thalassaemia Hospital, recently celebrated this year’s theme - “Hidden No More: Finding the Undiagnosed. Supporting the Unseen.”

The highlight of the event was a blood donation program organized by MTB Foundation at the Corporate Head Office of the Bank, where a good number of MTBians participated with great enthusiasm. The blood donated by the MTBians will be used for blood transfusion of Thalassaemia patients who are being treated at Bangladesh Thalassaemia Hospital. Simultaneously, an awareness session was held to create an understanding about the prevention, management and treatment of Thalassaemia amongst all MTBians.

The Blood Donation Program and Awareness Session marking the ‘World Thalassaemia Day 2026’ was inaugurated by Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO, Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB). Dr. M. A. Matin, President, Syed Deedar Bakht, Advisor and Dr. A K M Ekramul Hossain Swapan, Executive Director graced the occasion from Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity. MTB Foundation distributes Livelihood Assets Grant amongst the Vulnerable Fishing Communities of Chandpur

MTB Foundation, as part of its project titled ‘Creating Alternative Livelihood for Vulnerable Fishing Communities through Income Generating Activities (IGAs)’ distributed livelihood assets grant to a large number of Households (HHs) of the vulnerable fishing communities at Lalpur Union and Chandpur Pourasabha, Chandpur District.

Under this program, MTB Foundation distributed materials for poultry farming, homestead gardening and small businesses. These IGAs will be driven by the female family members of the fishermen who will take the activities forward to create an income source throughout the year during the fishing ban periods.

The event was attended by Samia Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer and Nazmus Sakib, Associate of MTB Foundation.

MTB Foundation commemorates World Water Day 2026 by inaugurating Project ‘Jol Torongo’ in Moulvibazar

MTB Foundation, to commemorate World Water Day 2026 and celebrate this year’s theme, ‘Water and Gender’, recently inaugurated three Water Access Hubs under the project ‘Jol Torongo’ for the vulnerable communities of Kagabala, Prem Nagar and Satbagh of Moulvibazar District. The project aims to cater to a large underprivileged segment of the region by resolving their long-standing safe water and sanitation crises. The initiative exemplifies MTB Foundation’s objective to support the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).

Project ‘Jol Torongo’, a WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) initiative of MTB Foundation, reflects the real spirit of the World Water Day by converting awareness into meaningful action at the grassroots level. MTB Foundation underscores the expansion of the project in hard-to-reach regions of the country to ensure dependable access to safe drinking water and improved sanitation, thus, strengthening resilience against environmental vulnerabilities.

MTB Foundation Celebrates World Autism Awareness Day 2026

To commemorate the ‘World Autism Awareness Day 2026’, MTB Foundation in partnership with PFDA – Vocational Training Centre Trust (PFDA-VTC) recently celebrated this year’s theme - ‘Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value’. The event was organized at the PFDA-VTC premises in the presence of Samia Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer and Nazmus Sakib, Associate from MTB Foundation. Among others, Md. Jasim Uddin Ferdous, CEO and Begum Nur Jahan Dipa, Principal from PFDA – VTC were also present at the event.

As part of celebrating the special day, MTB Foundation recognized caregivers, parents and teachers for the successful ex*****on of the specialized training module related to Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH) launched last year. In addition, a comprehensive follow-up session of the module was organized to assess progress, reinforce learning, and further strengthen the participants’ capacity to support individuals with autism.

MTB Foundation commemorates International Women's Day 2026 by distributing 'Swapno Sarathi' Bicycles to Underprivileged Female Students of Kushtia

To commemorate the International Women's Day 2026, MTB Foundation celebrated this year's theme ‘Give to Gain' by distributing free bicycles to the female underprivileged meritorious students in Kushtia under its ‘Swapno Sarathi’ (The Dream Chariot) program. The motto of the campaign “āĻ¸ā§āϕ⧁āϞ⧇ āϝ⧇āϤ⧇ āĻĻā§‚āϰāĻ¤ā§āĻŦ āϝ⧇āύ āĻŦāĻžāϧāĻž āύāĻž āĻšāϝāĻŧ" aims to enable the female students to overcome geographical barriers by facilitating their movement to and from school.

The 6th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of MTB Foundation was recently held at the Bank’s Corporate Head Office, MTB Centre, 26 Gulshan Avenue, Dhaka. Khwaja Nargis Hossain, Chairman, MTB Foundation presided over the AGM.
