five key aspects of Dharma:
1. Eternal Principles: Sanatan Dharma means "eternal duty" or "eternal law." It represents the timeless spiritual truths and practices that guide individuals toward a righteous life. Unlike religions with fixed doctrines, it is seen as an ever-evolving way of life.
2. Core Beliefs: The central beliefs include the existence of one supreme reality (Brahman), the law of karma (cause and effect), dharma (righteous duties), and moksha (liberation from the cycle of rebirth).
3. Diversity of Practices: Sanatan Dharma includes various practices and philosophies like yoga, meditation, worship (puja), and devotion (bhakti). It encompasses multiple paths to spiritual enlightenment, such as Jnana (knowledge), Bhakti (devotion), and Karma (action).
4. Sacred Texts: Its core scriptures include the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and the Ramayana. These texts offer guidance on spirituality, morality, and life, without enforcing strict dogmas.
5. Respect for All Life: Sanatan Dharma promotes ahimsa (non-violence) and a deep respect for all forms of life, encouraging compassion, vegetarianism, and environmental consciousness. It teaches that all living beings are interconnected parts of the same divine reality.
