I already had this video. I didn't want to post it again, but the comments on my last post really disgusted me, so here it is.
This is from last year, when this same guy tried to run over Hachiko with his car. Not some near miss because he was being careless. He actually swerved toward him on purpose. I'm sharing it now because I want the whole community to see exactly what kind of mentality some people in this RA have, defending a man who tried to run over a dog.
Now to everyone who came into my comments calling me names for feeding and sheltering these dogs. Dogs we've raised since they were puppies. Dogs who sleep right in front of our building and have never once hurt anyone here. Watch the video. Then tell me again who the real problem is.
Someone even tried to bring up how we must have so much money to be feeding strays, like it's some kind of luxury or a flex. Let me clear that up right now. It doesn't take money to feed an animal that's hungry. It takes heart. And before anything else, it takes actually being human, not just calling yourself one because you walk on two legs and pay bills.
These dogs aren't the threat. A grown man trying to run one over with his car is the threat. And when dogs like Hachiko know this street, know the people on it, and bark the moment something feels wrong, that's not danger, that's a warning system nobody else on this road is providing. They've chased off strangers loitering near parked bikes at 2am. They notice things before we do. Take them away and see how much less safe this street actually feels.
We're not stopping. We'll keep feeding them, keep watching over them, and now we'll keep filming too. So for anyone still coping about a few street dogs getting fed, keep coping. And to everyone who's shown love and stood by us, thank you. Let's stay vigilant, for each other and for them.
