We are delighted to announce the successful completion of our two-day training, "Impact Evaluation for Development Practitioners," held on 3–4 July 2026.

The training brought together researchers and development professionals from leading organizations, including Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation, Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies, and Progress Inc., to strengthen their knowledge and practical skills in impact evaluation.

The sessions were facilitated by Hussain A. Samad, Vice-Chairman of iDEA Foundation, World Bank Consultant, and Impact Evaluation Expert. We were honored by the presence of Kazi M. Aminul Islam, Chairman of iDEA Foundation and former Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, as well as Khondaker Sakhawat Hossain, Assistant Secretary of iDEA Foundation, who encouraged participants to apply these valuable skills in their professional work.

The program concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants, recognizing their successful completion of the training.

Impact evaluation is key to measuring program benefits, but often we do not know whether they work, for whom, or why. So, If you are interested in learning Impact Evaluation from a leading expert, we are pleased to invite you to this Training.

This is a unique opportunity to learn from Mr. Hussain A. Samad, a senior development economist with over 25 years of experience working with leading international organizations including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Gates Foundation, and Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), GIZ, etc. He has worked across 20+ countries worldwide as an impact evaluation expert. Mr. Samad is the co-author of the Handbook on Impact Evaluation: Quantitative Methods and Practices (World Bank Press, 2010) and seven other books.

Eligibility for Participation: No prior background in statistics or evaluation is required. Experience or familiarity with development programs and a genuine interest in using evidence to improve program decisions are helpful.

On May 23, the IDEA Foundation initiative organized a Policy Dialogue titled "Empowering Change: The Role of a Caucus for Disability Inclusion in Smart Bangladesh." The event brought together disability advocates, politicians, officials, OPDs, NGOs, INGOs, and journalists to collaborate on achieving a "Zero Digital Divide" and fostering a disability-inclusive Smart Bangladesh by 2041. United, we strive for accessibility and inclusion.

The program's chief guest was Vice Chairman of the IDEA Foundation and Distinguished guests included Kazi M. Aminul Islam, Chairman of the IDEA Foundation, and Mr. Md. Mokammel Hossain, Secretary of Civil Aviation and Tourism Various experts and panelists were also present and shared their valuable insights.
