Young Economists' Forum (YEF)

Young Economists' Forum (YEF) The Official Page of NSU Young Economists' Forum (YEF) This organization brought numbers of ideas to life and it kept YEF growing day by day.

Young Economists’ Forum was created in 1998 to brew all the exceptional ideas in young economists’ mind and create a platform to explore their potential. Young Economists’ Forum is the only academic club in North South University but at the same time it is very much different from the other clubs. Unlike other clubs, the activities of Young Economists’ Forum have never been confined within some se

t events but it has evolved with the ever changing economic atmosphere. Young Economists’ Forum stands upon the countless and remarkable contributions of all its alumni, members and also the faculty members of the Economics Department. Young economists’ forum has created an irresistible passion for economics in thousands of young economists’ heart and taught them to live with Economics. Young Economists’ Forum is not just a club but a sanctuary for young economists.

Turning Vision into Impact. Team Sudden Impact did exactly that!

The Young Economists’ Forum (YEF) proudly congratulates Team Sudden Impact for securing the 1st Runner-up position in the Innovation Track of Innoventure Season 1.0 2026, hosted by the BUP Entrepreneurship & Innovation Club.

Innoventure is a premier national platform where undergraduate talents from across Bangladesh rise to solve real corporate challenges and deliver breakthrough solutions.

Throughout the multiple rounds, Team Sudden Impact showed resilience and creativity at every stage. At the forefront was one of our very own, Smaran Krishna Sarkar, Junior Executive Member at NSU YEF, who played the role of a strategist and finance architect in the team. He was joined by Abeer Wasif Ansari, also from NSU, the ideation powerhouse and storyteller; Saadman Walid from BUP, another strategist and researcher; and Fahim Hasan from MIST, the visualizer who transformed ideas into compelling solutions.

Together, they proved that innovation is not just imagined; it is executed with precision, collaboration, and purpose. Their achievement reflects the spirit of young changemakers who turn vision into impact, and it marks only the beginning of many milestones ahead.

The Young Economists’ Forum (YEF) extends our warmest congratulations to Team Sisimpur for clinching the 1st Runner-Up position at the Venture Track segment of Innoventure Season 1.0 2026, organized by BUP Entrepreneurship & Innovation Club. Innoventure is a national-level platform for undergraduate students aiming to solve real-world corporate cases and develop scalable startup ventures.

Bringing together young minds from across the nation, Innoventure challenged participants to turn bold ideas into reality. Stepping into the arena, Arham Chowdhury, our very own Team Leader of Research & Analysis, led the charge alongside his teammates Raghib Mahtab and Sabbir Ahmed Kabbo. Arham is someone who always leads with intention, a calm sense of direction and genuine self-investment in everything he takes on. Within YEF, that quiet but steady leadership has always been felt. On this national stage, it shone.

Eid ul-Adha stands as a timeless reminder that the essence of sacrifice has never been about what is seen outwardly, but rather, the sincerity carried within the heart. As the Eid morning breaks, we reflect upon a lesson that transcends time: true sacrifice is measured not by what is offered but by the purity of intention with which it is given.

“Neither their meat nor their blood reaches Allah, but your piety reaches Him.”

— Qur'an 22:37

Beyond the rituals of sacrifice and celebration, this sacred occasion calls upon us to strengthen the bonds of humanity, gratitude, and kindness within our communities.

On this blessed occasion, the Young Economists’ Forum extends its warmest wishes to everyone celebrating Eid ul-Adha. May Allah accept our sacrifices, elevate us in taqwa, and fill every home with peace, harmony, wisdom, and abundant blessings.

Eid Mubarak!

Her shoes were still outside the neighbour's door. But inside, 8-year-old Ramisa's life had already been brutally stolen.

"আজ রামিসা, কাল কার সন্তান? বিচারহীনতার আর কত?"

A grieving father isn't crying out for justice, because in a society plagued by impunity, he already knows how this ends. The brutality inflicted on this bright student of Pallabi's Popular Model High School should shake us to our core. Yet public outrage fades in days.

Ramisa is not alone. Asiya, 8, from Magura, killed in the home she was meant to be safe in. The 11-year-old from Netrokona, found seven months pregnant after months of abuse by her madrasa teacher. The indigenous schoolgirl from Khagrachhari, whose demand for justice was met with bullets. Name after name. Outrage after outrage. And still, the cycle continues.

We must confront the normalization of sexual violence, the culture of impunity, and a society that protects predatory men while silencing their victims.

The Young Economists' Forum stands in solidarity to demand justice, not only for Ramisa, but for every stolen life a broken system has ignored.

The best way to predict the economic future is to draft it yourself. As the National Budget season draws near, the Young Economists' Forum invites you to step beyond the classroom and into the heart of academic publication. We are back with Chronicle, our renowned research-based academic publication dedicated to dissecting today’s most crucial social and economic challenges.

As we prepare for the latest edition, we are looking for the next generation of economic thinkers to take the lead and shape the discourse around our annual National Budget. We are calling on you to dig into the numbers and explore the “why” behind the “what.” This is more than just a piece of research; it is a platform built for critical intellectual analysis. Whether you are analyzing fuel shocks, trade dynamics, or social welfare, your research belongs here. As the former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, Jack Lew stated:

"The budget is not just a collection of numbers, but an expression of our values and aspirations."
