The Technical & Vocational Education & Training (TVET) sector of Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) has playing a significant role in the field of skills development activities i
n Bangladesh. The skills needs
of unskilled, unemployed, underemployed and retrenched laborers are being addressed through these skills training along with employment support services. There are seven vocational training institutes (VTIs) located at Dhaka, Gazipur and Jashore district. In those VTIs we are facilitating twelve different courses under readymade garments, informal economy, light engineering and construction sector. All TVET institutions are affiliated and accredited as Registered Training Organization (RTO) from Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) and prevailing to contribute in providing the services regarding Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and implementing CBT&A and NTVQF system. DAM has also established a Technical Teachers’ Training Institute for TVET sector which will be the centre of excellence for TVET teachers/trainers to implement global standard certified training. DAM has planned to establish more VTIs with present & future needs of skill training courses and also adding new trades in the existing VTIs and establish new polytechnic institute at different divisions of the country. However, total enrolment capacity of trainees is 3760 in a year and total workforce involve are 62 in the field and 06 at head office. In TVET, we follow the DAM’s gender policy and child protection policy and consider inclusion of differently able persons.

Unemployed and underemployed adolescents and youths
Unskilled labor
Retrenched workers from industries
Small & medium entrepreneurs
Members of microfinance and other programs
Aspirant and returnee migrant workers
School drop-outs and children engaged in hazardous works.
