Improving access to care for medical emergencies in in partner Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh completed its BASELINE SURVEY-Epidemiological analysis and selection of a study area.

The CIPRB researchers found that
> Over 60% of community members still adopt harmful practices due to traditional beliefs
> Only 18%-20% of respondents would transfer victims to nearest facility after incidents.

Since harmful practices and beliefs are still prevalent in communities regarding health-related events and care, possible solutions for improving community knowledge and practice towards emergency response include:
• Skilled health care providers
• Adequate supply of medicines
• Awareness programmes
