It envisions a shift in global civilization in which institutional and individual values are redirected from unsustainable behavior and action toward a mutually enhancing relationship between humans and Earth. It supports youth by providing them with the resources needed to take innovative steps to tackle the challenges and crisis within their local communities for a regenerative future. It recogn
ises a need for a local and global community of activated youth, who aren’t scared to talk about how different challenges and crisis make them feel. Young people who are rewriting their stories to be ones of hope and resilience; and decision-makers giving us a seat at the table. AlongsideYou is built by a group of powerful youth advocates who realized that just participating in strikes, rallies, and legislative advocacy wasn’t enough to solve the crisis. In order to see a true impact, we must take our energy to mass mobilize and complement it with local direct action. The goal of creating a platform in which young people could get the resources needed to be empowered to take direct action in their own communities to combat the different crisis when people in positions of power are not. It believes that every young person should have an equitable chance to reach their potential - no matter where they are born. It exists to empower young people to take their ideas for the impact and make it a reality. It asks our young people what the biggest issue in their community is to solve, it asks them what they think the solution is and it backs them.
