The floods of the Jamuna wash away crops and with them, Marjinaâs dreams. She once dreamed of sending her daughter to a big college in the city, giving her an education and a better future.
âI had a small piece of land and a cow. Thatâs how I managed my family. But two years ago, the floods took everything. People started saying thereâs no need to educate my daughter anymore , just marry her off.â
But those who are destined to fight against nature donât give up so easily.
âOne day, I heard about an NGO called Ignite Global Foundation that would support families like ours. They offered training on growing ginger in sacks, no land needed. I had never heard of such a thing before.â
Now, Marjina dreams of earning through ginger farming, helping her daughter complete her SSC and continue her education. Though her own education ended due to early marriage, she is determined that her daughterâs will not. When women like Marjina rise, Bangladesh rises with them. Ignite Global Foundation empowers these visionaries through Project Ankur, an innovative and climate-adaptive initiative.
Project Ankur doesnât just plant ginger, it plants dreams. Because this time, empowerment begins in the courtyard, and dreams know no limits.
