‘A broken leg, but an unbroken spirit.’

For Md. Nazrul Islam, a 60-year-old farmer from Tangail, an accident on a broken road took away his leg and his means of survival. But today, he isn’t looking for sympathy, he’s looking for a harvest.
“There was a time when gold grew wherever I put my hands. Now, no one wants to lease land to me. I am destitute; it’s a difficult time for my family.” But resilience doesn’t have a retirement age. This season, Nazrul is ready for a new beginning.

Project Ankur by Ignite Global Foundation has reached out to determined individuals like Nazrul who have faced life’s harshest battles but refuse to give up. Through Project Ankur, he is reclaiming his independence. By growing ginger in sacks right in his courtyard, he no longer needs to rely on others for land. He aims to produce 30-40 kg of ginger in a small space.
“I won’t have to go door-to-door to landlords anymore. I will grow ginger right in my own courtyard.”

Ignite Global Foundation is proud to support these resilient "warriors of life" with eco-friendly, climate-resilient agricultural solutions. We are committed to reaching more marginalized communities and turning struggle into empowerment.

In Tangail’s flood-prone communities, vulnerable families are turning adversity into opportunity through sack-based ginger cultivation a simple, climate-adaptive solution for sustainable income.

With support from the Department of Agricultural Extension and partnership from Helping Hand Foundation, 8 underprivileged families are beginning their journey toward stronger, more resilient livelihoods.

More than agriculture, Project Ankur is about food security, dignity, and building a climate-resilient future.

The floods of the Jamuna wash away crops and with them, Marjina’s dreams. She once dreamed of sending her daughter to a big college in the city, giving her an education and a better future.

“I had a small piece of land and a cow. That’s how I managed my family. But two years ago, the floods took everything. People started saying there’s no need to educate my daughter anymore , just marry her off.”
But those who are destined to fight against nature don’t give up so easily.

“One day, I heard about an NGO called Ignite Global Foundation that would support families like ours. They offered training on growing ginger in sacks, no land needed. I had never heard of such a thing before.”
Now, Marjina dreams of earning through ginger farming, helping her daughter complete her SSC and continue her education. Though her own education ended due to early marriage, she is determined that her daughter’s will not. When women like Marjina rise, Bangladesh rises with them. Ignite Global Foundation empowers these visionaries through Project Ankur, an innovative and climate-adaptive initiative.

Project Ankur doesn’t just plant ginger, it plants dreams. Because this time, empowerment begins in the courtyard, and dreams know no limits.

Our beneficiary, MOST Rehana Begum, is a resilient woman who works in households and practices small-scale farming in the marginalized Ishapasha village. Living in a flood-prone area, her life is far from easy. Each year, she strives to cultivate her land, but the mighty Jamuna River often washes away her hard-earned crops before she can bring them home.

Yet, she dares to dream. “I am living in a hut right now. With the help of Project Ankur, I aim to build a house. I also wish to buy a cow. That is my plan.”
With unwavering hope, Rehana believes she can become an achiever with the support of IGF.

Project Ankur has reached remote communities like Ishapasha, where even transportation is a challenge. Rehana is now preparing to cultivate ginger in bags becoming one of the first in her village to adopt climate-smart agriculture. She is ready to transform her life.

She will grow and with farmers like her, our country will grow. Because Project Ankur is not just a livelihood initiative; it is a step toward turning dreams into reality.

Once, autism awareness was symbolized by blue lights and puzzle pieces, driven by the “Light It Up Blue” campaign. It helped start conversations. But today, the conversation is evolving. From puzzles to the rainbow infinity symbol- a shift toward acceptance, neurodiversity, and inclusion.

Recognizing is not enough; we must take action.
It’s about listening more, judging less, and choosing compassion, every single day.

Let’s move beyond awareness. Let’s build a world where neurodiverse individuals are respected, supported, and celebrated.

From “fixing” to Understanding.
