It is an interactive forum for exchanging ideas, networking as well as gaining practical knowledge and theoretical skills to aid a student’s identity as a well-rounded academic. The students embody their roles as "Global Gatekeepers" to pave the way and uphold the dignity of their department and values as global citizens. Our motto, “Think global, act local” has been specifically selected to refle
ct the club's ideals. Even though we are global citizens, we have to remind ourselves of where we came from and represent our local colors on a global platform. To think from a global perspective and to rethink local eco-spheres and develop on them is the agenda for all global gatekeepers. Our mission is to equip members with skills in leadership, organizing, and orienting them with a sound, objective knowledge of the world. To accomplish these goals, we organize and participate as well as collaborate with other clubs of IUB in different events every year. Through participating in these events, students can connect with influential figures from fields of domestic and foreign policy, development, and diplomacy. Another important element of the events we arrange is that they provide an environment in which attendees may create a network of contacts and exchange ideas in a relaxed setting. They get a chance to create an impression on platforms that very few students ever get the chance to be in. Our vision for the future is to create a base of influential leaders of the future, who can be the change they want to see. In order to do so, both the club and the GSG department equip students with resources that steer their upward mobility in their respective career fields.
