Phirey Ashar Lorai | JCI Dhaka Independent

The journey to rebuild lives continues.

“Phirey Ashar Lorai” is a social impact initiative of JCI Dhaka Independent, created to support families who lost their income sources following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead of one-time relief, the project focuses on sustainable livelihood and economic empowerment. Through the initiative, trained underprivileged women have received sewing machines to start earning from home and rebuild their financial independence.

The first phase was implemented in collaboration with Sombhabona, Mirpur, Dhaka, with funds raised through Zakat contributions from JCI members and well-wishers.
Our focus is simple:
• Creating sustainable earning opportunities
• Empowering women through skills and entrepreneurship
• Promoting dignity and self-reliance
• Building stronger and more resilient communities

JCI Dhaka Independent continues “Phirey Ashar Lorai” for the betterment of our community.

Together, we can turn support into opportunity, skills into income, and hope into a better future.

Empowering Young Minds, Building Stronger Futures 💙

JCI Dhaka Independent was proud to join শোনো - Shono as a Community Partner for the “Ami Pari” workshop, held on 27 June 2026 at the Faculty of Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Dhaka.

The interactive session empowered 30 students through discussions on confidence, self-awareness, resilience, and mental well-being.

We were honored to have Marilin Ahmed, Adviser of JCI Dhaka Independent and Co-Founder & CEO of SHONO, at the event, alongside Abu Sayaed, General Secretary of JCI Dhaka Independent, reaffirming our shared commitment to empowering youth and creating an inclusive society.

Together, we inspire young people to believe in themselves—because every dream begins with the confidence to say, “Ami Pari.” 💙

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the “Smart Childhood” program in Old Dhaka at Rahmatullah Model High School, engaging with its wonderful school boys. It was a privilege for us to be part of this meaningful initiative as a Community Partner.

Our sincere thanks to SHONO for organizing this impactful program. We are also grateful to our Local President S. M. Salauddin Kader, respected Adviser Marilin Ahmed, and Secretary General Abu Sayaed for their continuous support and presence.

It was truly an inspiring experience engaging with Gen Z and Gen Alpha, sharing ideas, experiences, and motivation with the students to help shape a brighter future.

JCI Dhaka Independent successfully hosted its 1st General Members’ Meeting (GMM) 2026 on 29 April 2026 with a strong and enthusiastic turnout, resulting in a full-house gathering.
The meeting was chaired by the 2026 Local President, S. M. Salauddin Kader Shimon S. M. Salauddin Kader, along with the Board of Directors, following the formal GMM agenda. The session included the opening remarks, recitation of the JCI Creed, recognition of guests, introduction of new members, treasury presentation, activity reports, and strategic discussions for the year ahead.

Special appreciation to the Local President for his effective leadership and for ensuring a well-organized and professional ex*****on of the meeting. His commitment and experience were clearly reflected throughout the program.

The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for members to connect, share perspectives, and align on the chapter’s goals and aspirations for the year ahead. The enthusiasm, engagement, and collaborative spirit demonstrated throughout the session reflected the strength of our growing chapter.

There was a MOU signing ceremony between JCI Dhaka Independent and Aura by Athina which is a Bangladesh based fashion brand. Members of JCI Dhaka Independent as well as JCI Bangladesh can have amazing privileges while shopping in Aura by Athina.

The event was further honored by the presence of National President Arefeen Raafi Ahmed , National Secretary General, National Board Members, IPLP's, PLP's, LP's from other chapters, Chapter Mentor, National Vice Presidents, and other distinguished guests from JCI Bangladesh.

The insights and plans shared during the meeting have set a strong and positive direction for a purposeful and impactful year ahead.
