Hello, Assalamu alaikum, and "Konnichiwa" to everyone interested in and involved with the JDS Bangladesh Project,
We are pleased to announce that the final candidates (Fellows) have been successfully selected: 30 for the 25th Master’s batch and 3 for the 9th PhD batch. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all those who applied, attended the selection process, and showed interest in the project. And to those who were successfully selected—congratulations!
In July, pre-departure training will be conducted in Dhaka, including Japanese language lessons, a pre-departure orientation, and a Send-Off Party.
Ahead of this, online Japanese language lessons began last weekend for Master's Fellows, to learn Japanese alphabet - Hiragana and Katakana (refer to the attached photo for a glimpse of the lesson).
Japanese is often regarded as one of the most challenging languages to learn. However, there are also similarities with Bengali in vocabulary and grammar that learners can discover along the way, making the process both enjoyable and rewarding.
Above all, being able to communicate directly in Japanese with people in Japan after arrival will play a crucial role in building relationships, deepening cultural understanding, and adapting to life there.
Let’s all do our best together as we prepare for departure!
Please note that applications for the next batch (for enrollment in autumn 2027) will open this coming autumn. Further details will be announced on this page and on the JDS website as soon as they are available.
