Over the course of 2025, the International Institute of Law and Diplomacy (IILD) organized a series of programs and discussions advocating for a Truth and Healing Commission in Bangladesh following the July Revolution. We welcome the inclusion of this issue in the election manifestos of major political parties, including the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. We thank all parties for recognizing the importance of this cause and hope that a Truth and Healing Commission will be established after the 2026 national elections.

IILD–IDE MoU Signing in Malaysia

The International Institute of Law and Diplomacy (IILD) and Institut Darul Ehsan (IDE), Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the IDE Headquarters in Selangor, Malaysia, on 30 January 2026.

The MoU was formally signed by Shafiul Alam Shahin, Executive Director of IILD, and Senator Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Redzuan bin Othman, Executive Chairman of IDE.

This partnership aims to promote joint research initiatives, co-authored publications, researcher and fellowship exchange programmes, and broader institutional collaboration between the two think tanks.

IDE brings extensive expertise in election surveys and political data analysis, with a notably high accuracy and success rate, making this collaboration strategically significant.

International Institute of Law and Diplomacy, along with the Centre for Security and Development Studies (CSDS), organized a roundtable discussion at CIRDAP today. The discussion was moderated by Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Amsa Amin, NDC, PSC, former Ambassador. The session was titled “Mass Uprising and Public Expectations from the Post-Election Government of 2026.” Scholars, members of civil society, political activists, students, former armed forces officers, and other participants shared their views, thoughts, and expectations during the discussion.

আসন্ন ২০২৬ সালের বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনকে সামনে রেখে প্রজেকশন বিডি, ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইনস্টিটিউট অব ল এন্ড ডিপ্লোমেসি (আইআইএলডি), জাগরণ ফাউন্ডেশন এবং ন্যারাটিভ-এর যৌথ উদ্যোগে পরিচালিত- প্রি-ইলেকশন পালস: অ্যান ইন-ডেপথ অ্যানালাইসিস অব দ্য বাংলাদেশি ইলেক্টোরেট শীর্ষক এক জনমত জরিপের ফলাফল প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে। জরিপের ফলাফলে দেখা গেছে, বাংলাদেশ ন্যাশনালিস্ট পার্টি (বিএনপি) এবং বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামির মধ্যে পরিসংখ্যানগতভাবে এক হাড্ডাহাড্ডি লড়াইয়ের সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে।

জরিপের পরিধি ও পদ্ধতি:

এই জরিপটি ২০২৫ সালের ২১ নভেম্বর থেকে ২০ ডিসেম্বর পর্যন্ত পরিচালিত হয় । এতে বাংলাদেশের ৬৪টি জেলার ২৯৫টি সংসদীয় আসনের অন্তর্ভুক্ত মোট ২২,১৭৪ জন নিবন্ধিত ভোটার অংশগ্রহণ করেন । ভৌগোলিক, শহর–গ্রাম ও জনসংখ্যাগত ভারসাম্য নিশ্চিত করতে স্ট্রাটিফায়েড স্যাম্পলিং ডিজাইন অনুসরণ করা হয় এবং ২০২২ সালের জাতীয় আদমশুমারির ভিত্তিতে পোস্ট-স্ট্রাটিফিকেশন ওয়েটিং প্রয়োগ করা হয়েছে ।

সার্ভে ৬৪ জেলায় করা হয়েছে যেখানে সর্বমোট ২৯৫ টি নির্বাচন আসনে কাভার করা হয়েছে। যেখানে স্যাম্পল হিসেবে ২২,১৭৪ জনের তথ্য সন্নিবেশিত করা হয়েছে।

যেখানে বরিশাল বিভাগ হতে ২,১৪১ চট্রগ্রাম বিভাগ হতে ৩,৯২৮, ঢাকা বিভাগ হতে ৪,৮১৮ খুলনা বিভাগ হতে ৩,১৭৮, ময়মনসিংহ হতে ১২২৪৪ রাজশাহী বিভাগ হতে ২,৭৩৯, রংপুর বিভাগ হতে ২,৭৩৬, সিলেট বিভাগ হতে ১,৩৯০ জনের সাক্ষাৎকার নেয়া হয়েছে।

জাতীয় পর্যায়ে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতাপূর্ণ চিত্র:

জরিপ অনুযায়ী, বর্তমান জনসমর্থনের ভিত্তিতে ভোটের সম্ভাব্য বণ্টন নিম্নরূপ:

বাংলাদেশ ন্যাশনালিস্ট পার্টি (বিএনপি): ৩৪.৭ শতাংশ
জামায়াতে ইসলামি: ৩৩.৬ শতাংশ
আনডিসাইডেড (সিদ্ধান্তহীন) ভোটার: ১৭.০ শতাংশ
ন্যাশনাল সিটিজেন্স পার্টি (এনসিপি): ৭.১ শতাংশ
ইসলামী আন্দোলন বাংলাদেশ: ৩.১ শতাংশ
অন্যান্য দল: ৪.৫ শতাংশ

যদিও মেশিন লার্নিং (ML) প্রজেকশন অনুযায়ী আনডিসাইডেড ভোটারদের ঝোঁক বিবেচনায় নিলে বিএনপির সমর্থন ৪৩.২% এবং জামায়াতে ইসলামির সমর্থন ৪০.৮%-এ পৌঁছাতে পারে।

ভোটারদের প্রধান উদ্বেগ ও দলের সমর্থনের ভিত্তি:

১. বিএনপি:

বিএনপির ৭২.১ শতাংশ সমর্থক দলটির অতীত অভিজ্ঞতা ও প্রশাসনিক সক্ষমতাকে সমর্থনের প্রধান কারণ হিসেবে উল্লেখ করেছেন । ডেমোগ্রাফিক বিশ্লেষণে দেখা গেছে: ৩০-৪৪ বছর (৩৮.৪%) এবং ৪৫-৫৯ বছর (৩৭.৪%) বয়সী কর্মক্ষম ভোটারদের মধ্যে বিএনপির সমর্থন বেশি ।
পেশাজীবীদের মধ্যে কৃষক (৪২.৬%) এবং শ্রমিকদের (৪০.৬%) মধ্যে বিএনপির শক্ত অবস্থান রয়েছে ।

২. জামায়াতে ইসলামি:

জামায়াতে ইসলামির সমর্থকরা দলটিকে মূলত 'কম দুর্নীতিগ্রস্ত' (৪৪.৮%) এবং 'সততার ভাবমূর্তি' (৪০.৭%)-এর কারণে সমর্থন করছেন । তাদের সমর্থনের ভিত্তি হলো:
তরুণ প্রজন্ম: ১৮-২৯ বছর বয়সী তরুণ ভোটারদের মধ্যে জামায়াতের সমর্থন সর্বোচ্চ (৩৩.৬%)। উচ্চশিক্ষিত জনগোষ্ঠী: স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রিধারীদের মধ্যে দলটির সমর্থন ৩৭.৪%, যা অন্য যেকোনো দলের চেয়ে বেশি । ডিজিটাল মিডিয়া ও সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় তরুণ ও শিক্ষিত ভোটারদের সম্পৃক্ত করার ক্ষেত্রে দলটি এগিয়ে আছে।

৩. এনসিপি:

নতুন রাজনৈতিক শক্তি হিসেবে ন্যাশনাল সিটিজেন্স পার্টি (এনসিপি)-কে সমর্থন করার পেছনে ৩৬.৭% মানুষ 'জুলাই বিপ্লবে ভূমিকা'-কে প্রধান কারণ হিসেবে দেখছেন
