🌍 AANSU CHITTAGONG EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE 2026–2028 | ANOTHER MILESTONE IN AANSU’S CONTINUING EXPANSION

The Alumni Association of North South University (AANSU) is pleased to announce the AANSU Chittagong Executive Committee for 2026–2028, under the leadership of President Jasim Ahmed.

Following the recent AANSU Chittagong Connect 2026, the formation of this committee represents another important step in AANSU’s ongoing restructuring and strengthening process—building stronger local, academic and global alumni networks under one coordinated AANSU platform.

We congratulate Jasim Ahmed and the entire newly formed Executive Committee and look forward to their leadership in connecting NSU alumni across Chittagong, creating meaningful engagement and further strengthening the AANSU family.

Following Chittagong, the Sylhet, Khulna and other regional committees are coming up as part of the continuing nationwide expansion and restructuring process.

✅ All four NSU School-based AANSU Committees are also being revamped, creating stronger connections between alumni, their respective Schools, NSU and the wider AANSU network.

🌍 AANSU GOES FURTHER GLOBAL | WELCOMING THE AANSU EUROPEAN UNION CHAPTER 2026–2028

Another remarkable milestone in the 22-year journey of the Alumni Association of North South University (AANSU) as we proudly welcome the newly formed AANSU European Union Chapter Executive Committee 2026–2028.

Following the recent EU coordination meeting, the new Executive Committee has now taken shape under the leadership of Mohammad Sanowar Hossain, President, AANSU EU Chapter, bringing together NSU alumni leaders from across Europe.

The newly formed committee represents Germany, Sweden, Portugal, the Netherlands, Denmark, France, Lithuania, Finland and Italy, while the wider EU Chapter initiative continues to connect NSUers across Europe.

🎉 AANSU Congratulates NSU Alumnus Mohammad Shamim Kaiser Lincoln MP.

The Alumni Association of North South University (AANSU) proudly congratulates Mohammad Shamim Kaiser Lincoln, an alumnus of North South University, on his appointment as State Minister for Religious Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

He took oath as State Minister on 21 August 2026, and has subsequently been assigned responsibility for the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

It is always a matter of great pride for the entire NSU alumni community to see fellow NSUers taking on important responsibilities and contributing to the nation from positions of leadership.

As AANSU continues to connect and celebrate NSU alumni across Bangladesh and around the world, achievements such as this reflect the growing presence and contribution of NSUers in national leadership and public service.

AANSU Represents the Global Alumni Voice at NSU's SAQS Accreditation Review:

Yesterday, the Alumni Association of North South University (AANSU) had the honor of participating in the SAQS Review Team Meeting at North South University (NSU) as part of the accreditation review process of the School of Business & Economics (SBE).

The meeting provided an important opportunity for AANSU to represent the voice of NSU alumni and contribute to discussions on academic excellence, quality assurance, alumni engagement, and the continued advancement of North South University.

The SAQS Review Team was represented by distinguished academics and professionals:

• Prof. Ajantha S. Dharmasiri — Director of the SAQS Review Team
• Prof. Syed Ferhat Anwar, PhD — Vice-Chancellor of BRAC University
• Prof. Dr. Nazrul Islam — Professor of International Business, Independent University, Bangladesh
• Maria Howlader, FCA — Chartered Accountant and Business Adviser

The AANSU delegation was led by President Sazidul Islam, accompanied by Vice President Farhana Nisho, Head of Communications & Media; Secretary General Md. Saidur Rahman (Sohel); Senior Joint Secretary Mohammad Ahsan Chowdhury; Treasurer Shah Md Mohin Uddin, FCA; and Joint Secretaries Syed Imamuzzaman, Shabnin Rahman Shorna, Moinuddin Hasan Masud, Quazi Tafsirul Islam, Shabab Afsarul Islam, along with other members of the AANSU Central.

The SAQS Review Team expressed their appreciation for the diversity and active participation of the alumni representatives present at the meeting. 🌍 AANSU Reaches a New Global Milestone | EU Chapter Formed Across 11 European Countries

Another significant milestone has been achieved in AANSU’s global journey with the successful AANSU EU (European Union) Chapter coordination meeting, held online under the leadership of Sabreena Sadek, Vice President, AANSU Central and Head of Global Chapters & Country Coordination.

✅ With AANSU EU becoming the 8th global chapter, the AANSU network now represents NSU alumni across approximately 25 countries worldwide—a remarkable expansion of our global alumni family.

✅ The EU Chapter has already brought together representatives from 11 European countries: 🇩🇪 Germany | 🇸🇪 Sweden | 🇩🇰 Denmark | 🇵🇹 Portugal | 🇳🇴 Norway | 🇫🇮 Finland | 🇮🇹 Italy | 🇳🇱 Netherlands | 🇫🇷 France | 🇪🇸 Spain | 🇱🇹 Lithuania

✅ Representatives from all 11 countries participated in the meeting, sharing a common vision of building a strong, connected and active NSU alumni community across Europe.

The full committee will be announced following completion of the formation process.

AANSU–NSU SBE Coordination Meeting | Strengthening Alumni Engagement & Global Collaboration

An important coordination meeting was held at the School of Business & Economics (SBE), North South University, bringing together senior officials of NSU SBE and the leadership of AANSU Central.

The NSU SBE delegation was led by Prof. Dr. AKM Waresul Karim, Professor & Dean, School of Business & Economics, and included:

The AANSU Central delegation was led by President Sazidul Islam along with other key members of the AANSU Central Committee.

The meeting covered several important areas of collaboration and future coordination:

✅ Accreditation & Alumni Meeting:
Detailed preparations were discussed regarding the upcoming accreditation process and the scheduled interaction between the accreditation team and NSU alumni. AANSU will coordinate closely with SBE to ensure strong and meaningful alumni participation.

✅ Revamping of AANSU SBE & School-Based Committees:
As part of AANSU’s ongoing organizational restructuring, the AANSU SBE Committee, along with other school-based alumni committees, is being revamped and streamlined.

✅ Appointment of AANSU SBE Coordinator:
Helal Uddin Khan, Assistant Organizing Secretary of the AANSU Central Committee, has officially been appointed as the Coordinator for AANSU SBE. In the absence of the current AANSU SBE President, who is presently in the USA, Helal Uddin Khan will coordinate the formation and activities of the SBE alumni committee and serve as the coordination point between SBE, NSU and AANSU.

✅ Joint Global Alumni Membership Initiative:
It was also discussed that NSU and AANSU will work jointly toward alumni membership collection and engagement globally. The detailed structure and implementation format will be finalized through further discussions involving the highest authorities of NSU and the AANSU leadership.

The meeting reflects another important step toward building a more structured, connected and globally coordinated alumni network while strengthening collaboration between North South University and AANSU.

AANSU CHITTAGONG CONNECT 2026

Connecting Alumni • Building Leadership • Strengthening AANSU

As part of AANSU’s ongoing initiative to strengthen, revamp and streamline its chapters, an important meeting with the AANSU Chittagong team was held today, 15 August 2026, at the Chittagong Club Guest House In Chittagong.

The meeting was headed by Sazidul Islam, President, AANSU Central Committee; were also present Ahmed A. Rahman (Ashique), Advisor, AANSU Central Committee; and Jasim Ahmed, President, AANSU Chittagong, along with a significant number of AANSU Chittagong Committee members and alumni representatives, who joined the discussion and shared their views on strengthening and moving the Chittagong chapter forward.

Following a constructive discussion, it was officially decided that Jasim Ahmed will continue to lead AANSU Chittagong as President and will form and announce the new AANSU Chittagong Committee within the next few days under his leadership.

This is part of AANSU Central’s broader ongoing process of revamping and streamlining AANSU chapters and teams worldwide, strengthening leadership, coordination and connectivity across the entire AANSU global network. The process will continue progressively, bringing all AANSU communities closer under one coordinated global platform.
