Currently serving as Bangladesh’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting, he represents the Bhola-1 constituency in Parliament. His background spans legal practice, parliamentary affairs and political leadership. He is also Chairman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party and Principal of the British School of Law in Dhaka.

He will contribute his perspective on media, democracy and governance to BoBC 2026 in Dhaka this October.

π‰πšπ§ π‘π’πžπ₯𝐚𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 brings extensive experience in development strategy, climate resilience and economic policy to BoBC 2026.

As Head of Division for Resilient and Sustainable Development Strategies at the OECD Development Centre, he works with governments to design strategies that connect climate action with economic growth. His work spans development planning, fiscal sustainability and climate risk management across emerging and developing economies.

He will be part of BoBC 2026 in Dhaka from 3 to 5 October.

CALL FOR PAPERS | VOLUME 8 NUMBER 1 | January 2027

JGSD is a forum for scholarly research and policy-oriented analyses on various dimensions of society, politics, economy, public policy, public administration, and security with a focus on the Global South with an emphasis on South Asia. The covers conceptually-interesting original cross-disciplinary research and policy-driven essays in three areasβ€”governance, security and development.

The Journal solicits manuscripts (research-based articles, review articles, research notes, and book reviews) for its forthcoming issues. Submissions must be original and must not be under consideration by any other journal. All manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the referencing style. Manuscripts will be blind-reviewed and checked for originality.

will be accepted on a continuing basis and are quickly reviewed. There are no article processing charges.

A Professor at BRAC University and Co-Founder and CEO of SOLshare, he has spent years working on decentralized energy solutions and energy access in the Global South, with a particular focus on Bangladesh. His work has received global recognition, including the Zayed Sustainability Award and World Economic Forum Tech Pioneer recognition.
