Success Story: Ms. Akhlima Begum Veered by the help of BASD
Village: Khutakhali, Union: Bajua, Thana: Dacope, District: Khulna
Ms. Akhlima Begum (36) was a house wife. Her husband named Mr. Babul Sekh was a Farmer, only earning member of her family. They have a son (10), & a daughter (7). Their family income was too low (Daily only 500 Taka) to maintain a 4 members family.
Ms. Akhlima admitted to BASD’s ‘Mohona Women Cooperative’ Dated: 08.07.2024, to improve her financial condition. She deposited money and increased her savings day by day. She received Tk. 30,000 from BASD’s “Economic and Ecological Capacity Building for Vulnerable Women Project”, for starting a small business and invested it for making the Ring Slabs. After selling it she got profit 700 Taka. She took loan from BASD’s ‘Mohona Women Cooperative’ alternately Tk. 40,000, got profit Tk. 900 & Tk. 50,000, got profit Tk. 1400 from her business. Her husband is helping in her business. She is very happy to contribute her family. Her son is studding in Class 5 & daughter in Class 3. She dreams, one day the fame of her business will spread in all over the country. They are very grateful to BASD and Donor.
সফলতার গল্প: বিএএসডি-র সহায়তায় জনাবা আখলিমা বেগম ঘুরে দাঁড়ালো

জনাবা আখলিমা বেগম (৩৬), একজন গৃহীনি। তার স্বামী জনাব বাবুল শেখ পেশায় একজন কৃষক, তার পরিবারের একমাত্র উপার্জনকারী। তাদের এক ছেলে (১০) ও এক মেয়ে (৭) রয়েছে। তাদের সামান্য আয় (দৈনিক মাত্র ৫০০ টাকা ছিল খুবই)দিয়ে চার সদস্যের একটি পরিবার চালানোর ছিল খুবিই কষ্টসাধ্য।
পরিবারের আর্থিক অবস্থার উন্নতির জন্য জনাবা আখলিমা বিএএসডি-র ‘মোহনা মহিলা সমিতিতে’ (তারিখ: ০৮.০৭.২০২৪) ভর্তি হন। তিনি টাকা জমা করতে থাকেন এবং দিন দিন তার সঞ্চয় বাড়াতে থাকেন। তিনি বিএএসডি-র “Economic and Ecological Capacity Building for Vulnerable Women Project”, থেকে ৩০,০০০ টাকা পান এবং তা রিং স্ল্যাব তৈরির জন্য বিনিয়োগ করেন। এটি বিক্রি করে তিনি ৭০০ টাকা লাভ করেন। তিনি বিএএসডি-র ‘মোহনা মহিলা সমবায়’ থেকে পর্যায়ক্রমে ৪০,০০০ টাকা ঋণ নিয়ে ৯০০ টাকা এবং ৫০,০০০ টাকা ঋণ নিয়ে ১,৪০০ টাকা লাভ করেন। তার স্বামী তাকে ব্যবসায় সাহায্য করছেন। তিনি পরিবারের অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নে অবদান রাখতে পেরে খুব খুশি। তার ছেলে পঞ্চম শ্রেণিতে এবং মেয়ে তৃতীয় শ্রেণিতে লেখাপড়া করছে। তিনি স্বপ্ন দেখেন, একদিন তার ব্যবসার খ্যাতি সারা দেশে ছড়িয়ে পড়বে। তারা বিএএসডি এবং দাতা সংস্থার প্রতি অত্যন্ত কৃতজ্ঞ।

BASD organized a Grameen (Village) Eco Fair on 30 April 2026 at Suterkhali, Dacope, Khulna, with the financial help of CAFOD. There were 15 Stalls on Organic Vegetables, Organic Fertilizer and Disaster Adaptation Techniques. 250 Participants joined the Fair. , Mr. Masum Ali Fakir, Chairman of Suterkhali Union, was the Chief Guest. Besides, BASD's Board Member, Ms. Jyoti Halder, joined in the Fair. Local Elite Person, NGOs Representatives, Students and BASD's Beneficiaries also attended in the Fair.
