The Persian Debating Club of the Department of Persian Language and Literature, University of Dhaka successfully hosted "Fusion Fest" on 20 January 2026; a vibrant celebration of creativity, collaboration and student initiative.

The event featured a variety of stalls organized and run by the students of the Department of Persian Language and Literature, showcasing their entrepreneurial spirit and creative talents which greatly attracted the audience. One of the major highlights of "Fusion Fest" was the entertaining satirical debate and an exciting Treasure Hunt Competition with enthusiastic participation from students.

We were honored to have the Honorable Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan sir as the Chief Guest for the Treasure Hunt Competition. The program was further graced by the presence of Professor Mohammad Abul Kawser, Provost of Sir P J Hartog International Hall; Dr. Mumit Al Rashid, Chairman of the Department of Persian Language and Literature along with esteemed faculty members from the Departments of Persian Language and Literature, World Religions and Culture, Urdu, Music and other departments.

At the conclusion of the Treasure Hunt Competition, prizes were awarded to the winning team by the Honorable Dean of the Faculty of Arts.
We extend our heartfelt thanks and sincere gratitude to our respected Moderator, Tanjina Binte Nur mam for her constant guidance and unwavering support. We are also deeply thankful to the Chairman of our department, Dr. Mumit Al Rashid sir for his continuous encouragement and invaluable support which have been a great source of motivation for us all.

Through Fusion Fest, we aimed to create a platform that fosters creativity, teamwork and leadership while strengthening the bond within the Persian family, making learning a celebration beyond the classroom.

Persian Debating Club cordially invites all members of the Persian family to attend FUSION FEST, a cultural and recreational event aimed at fostering creativity, interaction and cultural harmony.

Entry to the event is completely FREE.

Activities include:
• Food stalls
• Handmade craft stalls
• Mehendi art
• Interactive games (Treasure Hunt & Dumb Charades)
• A fun debate session on love
• A vibrant cultural segment

সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে অনুভূত ভূমিকম্পজনিত পরিস্থিতি বিবেচনায় রেখে পার্সিয়ান ডিবেটিং ক্লাব আয়োজিত “ভালোবাসার চিঠি লেখার প্রতিযোগিতা ২০২৫” এর চিঠি জমাদানের নির্ধারিত তারিখ সাময়িকভাবে স্থগিত করা হলো। খুব শীঘ্রই পরবর্তী তারিখ জানিয়ে দেয়া হবে।
আমরা সকলের শান্তি, নিরাপত্তা ও সুস্থতা কামনা করছি।

📜 ভালোবাসার চিঠি লেখার প্রতিযোগিতা ২০২৫
ফারসি সাহিত্য বিশ্বসাহিত্যের অন্যতম রোমান্টিক ও দার্শনিক ধারা—যেখানে প্রেম কেবল অনুভূতির প্রকাশ নয়, বরং মানবজীবনের অন্তর্গত সত্য অনুসন্ধানের পথ। রুমি, হাফেজ, সাদী, খৈয়াম—তাঁদের রচনায় প্রেম হয়ে উঠেছে মানব-আত্মার আলো, সময়ের সীমানা পেরিয়ে নন্দনের এক চিরন্তন অভিব্যক্তি।
এই সাহিত্যিক ঐতিহ্যকে নতুন প্রজন্মের সৃজনশীলতার সঙ্গে যুক্ত করতে Persian Debating Club আয়োজন করছে—
✨ “ভালোবাসার চিঠি লেখার প্রতিযোগিতা ২০২৫” ✨

পারস্যের বালুকাবেলায় হাজার বছরের গল্প লুকিয়ে আছে—জীবনের রহস্য, রোমাঞ্চ, প্রেম, বেদনা ও আকাঙ্ক্ষা। কল্পনা করুন, আপনি সেই প্রান্তরে জন্ম নেওয়া এক কবি; যার হৃদয়ে প্রেমিকার প্রতি গভীর আবেগের প্রবাহ। এই আবেগে আছে জীবনের উত্থান-পতন, আলো-ছায়ার মৃদু ঢেউ। এই অনুভূতিগুলো একত্রিত করে বুনে ফেলুন এক হৃদয়স্পর্শী প্রেমপত্র—যার প্রতিটি শব্দে প্রতিফলিত হবে আপনার অন্তরের যাত্রা।

📄 বিশেষ নির্দেশনাসমূহ:
১. চিঠির ভাষা হতে পারে বাংলা, ইংরেজি অথবা ফারসি। যদিওবা ভাষা নির্বাচনে কোনো বাড়তি নম্বর প্রদান করা হবে না; মূল্যায়ন করা হবে রচনার ভাবগভীরতা, কাব্যিকতা ও ভাষার নান্দনিক ব্যবহারে।
২. চিঠি হবে সম্পূর্ণ হাতে লেখা ও সর্বোচ্চ দৈর্ঘ্য দুই পৃষ্ঠা।
৩. লেখা হতে হবে সম্পূর্ণ মৌলিক।
৪. অংশগ্রহণকারীকে নাম, রোল, সেশন ও বিভাগের তথ্য স্পষ্টভাবে উল্লেখ করতে হবে।
৫. লিখিত চিঠি স্ব স্ব ব্যাচ রিপ্রেজেনটেটিভের নিকট নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের মধ্যে জমা দিতে হবে।

🏆 পুরস্কার:
– প্রথম দুইজন বিজয়ী পাবেন আকর্ষণীয় প্রাইজমানি এবং প্রথম পাঁচজনকে প্রদান করা হবে সার্টিফিকেট।
📅 চিঠি জমাদানের শেষ তারিখ: ২৫ নভেম্বর ২০২৫

ফারসি সাহিত্য যে প্রেমের অনন্ত পথ দেখায়, সে পথের এক ক্ষুদ্র অংশ হোক আপনার এই চিঠি—যেখানে থাকবে অনুভূতি, সৌন্দর্য, ভাষা ও হৃদয়ের নির্মল সত্য।আপনার লেখনীতে জেগে উঠুক সেই চিরন্তন প্রেম–দর্শনের নতুন ব্যাখ্যা।

When intellect meets humour, the stage lights up.
The Persian Debating Club proudly hosted its Comic Debate titled “The Vows and the Vacancies: Best Half by Profession” a lively fusion of charm and creative expression. The event turned the concept of love and livelihood into laughter filled arguments as debaters passionately defended their professions as the ideal match for marriage.

An afternoon of laughter, intellect and spirited performance made the session truly memorable.
Now the question remains, which profession would you choose as the best to marry?

Love meets livelihood in the wittiest way possible.
The Persian Debating Club presents a Comic Debate titled “The Vows and the Vacancies: Best Half by Profession” where vows are exchanged over job titles and resumes decide romance.
Watch our debaters defend their professions as the ultimate qualification for marriage. Who will claim the crown of the Best Half? The teacher, the doctor, the engineer or the artist?
A session of laughter, wit and wordplay awaits.

The Persian Debating Club is delighted to announce a special session on “Case Making Strategy” a workshop designed to sharpen debating skills and enhance confidence on stage. Scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 1:30 PM in Room 3058, Faculty of Arts, this session will guide participants on how to effectively build a strong case and own the stage.

The session will be conducted by Amir Mahi, Former President of SMDC whose experience and expertise promise to make this workshop engaging and insightful.
