Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology (AUST), located in Dhaka, has been an active participant in the field of industrial engineering and operations management. The university, known for its commitment to academic excellence, established the IEOM Society AUST Student Chapter on March 16, 2021. This chapter has since become a prominent platform for students and professionals alike to engage in the exploration and application of industrial engineering concepts. The IEOM chapter at AUST has adopted a quality-centric approach, prioritizing skill-building and knowledge enhancement over mere membership expansion. Over the course of its existence, the chapter has successfully organized 50+ more events, including informative seminars, technical workshops, skill development training programs, intra-university competitions, and inter-university/international competitions. The following events have not only provided valuable learning opportunities but have also facilitated collaboration with renowned industries and multinational companies, forging strong partnerships. The very first mentorship program âPROTEGEâ was organized by the IEOM Chapter at AUST. With its tagline "Mentee 2 Mentor".The event encompasses a wide range of activities, which provides opportunities for you to connect with other professionals in our field, building a network of connections that can help you in your future endeavours. To improve oneself to be the best in the business, By a series of tasks, activities, seminars, workshops to mould oneself into an asset. It gives out a new light of perspective to shine in both the real and corporate world with a particular emphasis on the intersection of industrial engineering. The IEOM Society AUST Student Chapter aims to provide a nurturing environment for students to showcase their innovative ideas, develop their soft skills, and enhance their technical aptitude and knowledge. With a vision of creating a collaborative platform for students from MPE departments, the chapter actively encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange. Its inclusive approach has earned it the reputation of being the most active society at AUST at present times with a profound impact on the university community and beyond. To facilitate knowledge sharing, the IEOM chapter at AUST maintains an official Discord server, Slack, where members engage in one-to-one and one-to-many interactions. Unlike traditional barriers or restrictions, the IEOM chapter at AUST is open to students from any department or semester. By paying a nominal fee, which does not exceed 150 BDT, students can acquire a lifetime membership to the chapter. This inclusive approach ensures that talented individuals from all backgrounds have the opportunity to join the IEOM community and benefit from its resources and activities.
