সেবাপ্রদানকারী প্রতিষ্ঠানের সাথে উপকারভোগীদের সংলাপ অনুষ্ঠিত

লিডার্স-এর আয়োজনে এবং মানুষের জন্য ফাউন্ডেশন ও এম্বাসি অব সুইডেন-এর সহযোগিতায় "কমিউনিটিভিত্তিক জলবায়ু সহনশীলতা ও নারীর ক্ষমতায়ন কর্মসূচী (সিআরইএ)" প্রকল্পের আওতায় গত ০৬ মে ২০২৬, শ্যামনগর, সাতক্ষীরায় সেবাপ্রদানকারী প্রতিষ্ঠানের সাথে এক সংলাপ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার সামসুজ্জাহান কনক প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থেকে উপকূলীয় এলাকার সমস্যা সমাধানে সরকার ও বেসরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোকে একযোগে কাজ করার আহ্বান জানান। সভাপতিত্ব করেন শিক্ষক রনজিৎ কুমার বর্মণ।

উপকারভোগীদের পক্ষ থেকে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দাবি উঠে আসে:
- নারীবান্ধব আশ্রয়কেন্দ্র নির্মাণ
- বাস্তুহারা পরিবারের জন্য পুনর্বাসনের ব্যবস্থা
- কমিউনিটি ক্লিনিকে নারী শ্রমিকদের জন্য চিকিৎসা ও ওষুধের ব্যবস্থা

উপস্থিত কর্মকর্তারা এসব দাবি যুক্তিযুক্ত বলে মন্তব্য করেন এবং প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা নেওয়ার আশ্বাস দেন।

সবশেষে সভাপতি সকল অংশগ্রহণকারী, লিডার্স, মানুষের জন্য ফাউন্ডেশন ও এম্বাসি অব সুইডেনকে আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ জানিয়ে সংলাপের সমাপ্তি ঘোষণা করেন।

Dialogue Held Between Service Providers and Beneficiaries

On May 6, 2026, LEDARS organized a dialogue with service providers in Shyamnagar, Satkhira, under the "Community-Based Climate Resilience and Women Empowerment (CREA)" project, supported by Manusher Jonno Foundation and the Embassy of Sweden.

The event was chaired by teacher Ranjit Kumar Barman, with UNO Shamsuzzahan Konok attending as Chief Guest. He urged government and private organizations to work together to solve the challenges faced by coastal communities.

Beneficiaries raised several important demands:
- Gender-friendly cyclone shelters
- Rehabilitation for displaced families
- Free healthcare and medicine for female shrimp and crab workers at community clinics
- Reform of irregular fisher card systems
- Formation of women and child committees at union level to stop child marriage

Officials present acknowledged the validity of these demands and assured necessary steps.

The event ended with a vote of thanks from the chairperson to all participants, LEADERS, Manusher Jonno Foundation, and the Embassy of Sweden.

আজ ৭ মে ২০২৬ তারিখে নিকলী উপজেলায় কমিউনিটি-ভিত্তিক জলবায়ু সহনশীলতা ও নারীর ক্ষমতায়ন প্রকল্পের সমন্বয়ে জেন্ডার সমতা ও জলবায়ু জোট (GECA)-এর পক্ষ থেকে উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার, নিকলী, কিশোরগঞ্জ বরাবর একটি স্মারকলিপি প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা মোজাম্মেল হক আবীর (সভাপতি, GECA)-এর নেতৃত্বে জোটের নেতৃবৃন্দ স্মারকলিপি তুলে ধরেন। সাম্প্রতিক অতিবৃষ্টিতে হাওর অঞ্চলের ব্যাপক ফসলহানি, খাদ্য নিরাপত্তা সংকট, ও নারী-প্রান্তিক জনগোষ্ঠীর ঝুঁকির কথা উল্লেখ করে ১৬ দফা জরুরি দাবি জানানো হয়।

দাবিগুলোর মধ্যে রয়েছে: ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত কৃষকদের জন্য জরুরি প্রণোদনা ও ক্ষতিপূরণ, শস্য বীমা চালু, আধুনিক কৃষি যন্ত্রপাতির সহজলভ্যতা, নারী কৃষক কার্ড ও কৃষি কমিটিতে ন্যূনতম ৩০% নারী প্রতিনিধিত্ব, সরকারি ধান সংগ্রহে মধ্যবর্তী দৌরাত্ব বন্ধ করে প্রকৃত কৃষকদের অগ্রাধিকার, জলবায়ু সহনশীল কৃষি, খাল-নদী খনন, সাবমারসিবল সড়ক নির্মাণ, হার্ভেস্টারের যৌক্তিক মূল্য নির্ধারণ, ও ফসল রক্ষা বাঁধ জরিপ।

জোট নেতৃবৃন্দ হাওরের কৃষক ও নারীদের জীবন-জীবিকা রক্ষায় দ্রুত কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণের আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন।

Today, May 7, 2026, on behalf of the Gender Equality and Climate Alliance (GECA), a memorandum was submitted to the Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) of Nikli, Kishoreganj, in coordination with the community-based Climate Resilience and Women's Empowerment Project in Nikli Upazila.

Led by Bir Muktijoddha Mozammel Haque Abir (President, GECA), the alliance leaders presented the memorandum. Referring to the widespread crop damage in the Haor region due to recent excessive rainfall, the food security crisis, and the risks faced by women and marginalized communities, they put forward 16 urgent demands.

The demands include: emergency incentives and compensation for affected farmers, introduction of crop insurance, easy access to modern agricultural machinery, Women Farmer Cards and minimum 30% representation for women in agricultural committees, prioritizing genuine farmers in government paddy procurement by stopping middlemen domination, climate-resilient agriculture, canal and river dredging, construction of submersible roads, fair pricing for harvesters, and a survey of crop protection embankments.

Alliance leaders have called for immediate and effective action to protect the lives and livelihoods of Haor farmers and women.

Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) has long experience in promoting Gender-Responsive Budgeting (GRB) to advance women’s empowerment and inclusive climate governance in Bangladesh through research, policy advocacy, and engagement with government and civil society actors.

As part of this commitment, MJF organized a consultation on “Gender-Responsive Climate Budgeting (GRCB)” on 06 May 2026 in Dhaka under the CREA project, supported by the Embassy of Sweden, aiming to identify gaps between climate policies and ground realities to ensure the effective utilization of gender-responsive climate budgets, strengthen monitoring mechanisms, and enhance gender accountability.

The consultation brought together policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and development partners to enhance understanding and action on Gender-Responsive Climate Budgeting (GRCB), promoting more equitable, inclusive, and effective climate finance in Bangladesh.

The consultation was welcomed by Ms. Shoma Datta, Program Manager, MJF, who emphasized the importance of ensuring that climate finance responds to gender-differentiated vulnerabilities and supports inclusive resilience.
Key technical insights were shared by Professor Sharmind Neelormi (Jahangirnagar University), Ms. Nuzhat Imam (Climate and Gender Budget Expert, Consultant, iSocial), and Dr. Ananya Raihan (Chairperson, iSocial), highlighting systemic gaps and practical pathways for integration.

The session concluded with rich discussions on the draft Practical Guide and Policy Report, generating valuable recommendations to strengthen their practical relevance and policy application.

This initiative represents an important step toward advancing Gender-Responsive Climate Budgeting in Bangladesh, contributing to more equitable and effective public finance systems for climate resilience.

পটুয়াখালীর রাঙ্গাবালি—দুর্যোগপ্রবণ এই উপকূলীয় এলাকায় নারীরা এখন নিজেরাই বদলের নেত্রী। 🌊

সুইডেন সরকারের অর্থায়নে, মানুষের জন্য ফাউন্ডেশন-এর কারীগরি সহায়তায় এবং ভার্কের বাস্তবায়নে “সিআরইএ প্রকল্প” নারীদের স্বাবলম্বী ও সচেতন করে তুলছে। সাকুরি বেগম ও আসমার মতো নারীরা শালিশ, বাল্যবিয়ে বন্ধ, যৌতুক নিরসনে কাজ করছেন। প্রশিক্ষিত হয়েই তারা পৌঁছচ্ছেন ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ, থানা ও লিগ্যাল এইড অফিসে।

ছোট থেকে বড় সমস্যা—তারা কাঁধে তুলে নিয়েছেন নারীর অধিকার রক্ষার দায়িত্ব। 🤝

Rangabali in Patuakhali—one of Bangladesh's most disaster-prone coastal areas. Now, local women are rising as leaders of change. 🌊

With support from the Swedish government, Manusher Jonno Foundation and VERC, the "CREA Project" is empowering women to become self-reliant and aware. Women like Shakuri Begum and Asma are resolving disputes, preventing child marriage, and stopping dowry through local mediation (salish). They are also connecting victims with Union Councils, police, and legal aid offices.

From small family conflicts to social issues—they’ve taken the lead to protect women’s rights. 🤝

কিশোরগঞ্জের নিকলী উপজেলায় টানা দুই দিনের ভারী বর্ষণে হাওরাঞ্চলের বোরো আবাদ মারাত্মক ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে। প্রায় ৬৯০ হেক্টর ধানের জমি পানিতে তলিয়েছে, যা কৃষকদের মধ্যে উদ্বেগ সৃষ্টি করেছে। গত ২৮-২৯ এপ্রিল ১৭০ মিলিমিটার বৃষ্টিপাত হয়; পুরো জেলায় তলিয়ে গেছে প্রায় ৩ হাজার হেক্টর জমি।

কৃষি বিভাগ আগাম ধান কাটার পরামর্শ দিলেও গত তিন দিনের বর্ষণে ক্ষতি ও অনিশ্চয়তা নেমেছে। হারভেস্টারের সংকট ও শ্রমিক স্বল্পতায় ফসল ঘরে তোলা সম্ভব হয়নি।

তবে পপি-সিআরইএ প্রকল্প কৃষকদের পাশে দাঁড়িয়েছে। তারা দ্রুত তথ্য পৌঁছে দিচ্ছে মাইকিং, টি-স্টল টক ও যুব স্বেচ্ছাসেবকদের মাধ্যমে। নিকলীর ১২টি গ্রামে ৪৮ জন স্বেচ্ছাসেবক (২৬ পুরুষ, ২২ নারী) কাজ করছেন—সতর্কবার্তা প্রচার, ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ পরিবার চিহ্নিতকরণ ও ধান কাটায় উদ্বুদ্ধ করছেন।

এখন পর্যন্ত ১৮টি কমিউনিটি সভা (মোট অংশগ্রহণ ৯৪০ জন) ও টি-স্টল/স্ট্রিট টকে ১৮৭ জন অংশ নিয়েছেন। এছাড়া ৭৫ জন স্বেচ্ছাসেবক প্রায় ৯২ হেক্টর জমির ধান কাটতে সহায়তা করেছেন, ফলে অনেকে বন্যার আগেই ফসল ঘরে তুলতে পেরেছেন।

In Nikli Upazila of Kishoreganj, two consecutive days of heavy rainfall have severely damaged Boro paddy cultivation in the Haor region. Approximately 690 hectares of paddy fields have gone underwater, causing great concern among farmers. On April 28-29, rainfall amounted to 170 millimeters; across the entire district, about 3,000 hectares of land have been submerged.

Although the agriculture department had advised early harvesting of the paddy, the three days of rainfall have brought damage and uncertainty. Due to a shortage of harvesters and labor, it was not possible to bring the crops home in time.

However, the Poppy-CREA project has stood by the farmers. They are quickly disseminating information through loudspeaker announcements (miking), tea-stall talks, and youth volunteers. In 12 villages of Nikli, 48 volunteers (26 men, 22 women) are working—spreading warning messages, identifying vulnerable families, and motivating farmers to harvest paddy quickly.

So far, 18 community meetings (with a total of 940 participants) and 187 people have taken part in tea-stall/street talks. Additionally, 75 volunteers have helped harvest paddy from approximately 92 hectares of land, enabling many farmers to bring their crops home before the flood.

গত ২৮-২৯/৪/২০২৬ তারিখের টানা বৃষ্টি ও উজানের স্রোতে সুনামগঞ্জের বিশ্বম্ভরপুরে হাওরে আকস্মিক বন্যা ভয়াবহ আকার ধারণ করছে। ইতিমধ্যে প্রায় ১৩ হেক্টর জমির বোরো ধান সম্পূর্ণ ডুবে গেছে। কৃষকদের ফসল, জীবিকা ও গোখাদ্য মারাত্মক হুমকিতে।

বিশ্বম্ভরপুরের প্রধান সড়ক ব্যতীত বেশিরভাগ শাঁখা সড়কের মধ্যে জলাবদ্ধতার কারণে যোগাযোগ বিচ্ছিন্ন, নিরাপদ পানি ও নিষ্কাশন ব্যবস্থা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত। বজ্রপাতের ঝুঁকিতে কৃষক, জেলে ও শিশুরা। বন্যা বাড়ার আগেই ধান কাটার চাপ বাড়ছে।

সিআরইএ প্রকল্পের ৬০ তরুণ স্বেচ্ছাসেবক (২৮ নারী, ৩২ পুরুষ) সচেতনতা, সতর্কতা বার্তা ও ধান কাটায় মাঠে কাজ করছেন। এপর্যন্ত ১৭টি গ্রামে কাজ করেছেন। নারী স্বেচ্ছাসেবকরাও ধান গোছাতে ও বস্তা ভরতে সাহায্য করছেন।

ক্রিয়া প্রকল্প ইতোমধ্যে ৪০টি সভা করেছে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যে। সভায় ১০৮৯ জন (নারী, পুরুষ, যুব) অংশ নিয়েছেন। ইউডিএমসি ও ক্লাইমেট একশন গ্রুপের যৌথ সভায় দুর্যোগ মোকাবিলার পরিকল্পনা করা হয়েছে।

সুরমা নদীর পানি বাড়ছে। গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় ১৫ মিমি বৃষ্টি হয়েছে। বাঁধ ভাঙার আশঙ্কা করা হচ্ছে। উজানে বৃষ্টির কারনে হাওরে পানি ঢুকছে এবং গতকালের তুলনায় আজ সুরমা নদীর পানি ১৫ সেমি বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে।

সবাইকে উঁচু জায়গায় সরিয়ে নেয়া, শিশু-বয়স্কদের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করা এবং সতর্ক থাকার জন্য অনুরোধ জানানো হচ্ছে।

Due to continuous rainfall on 28–29 April 2026 and upstream water currents, a sudden flash flood has taken a severe turn in the haor areas of Bishwambharpur, Sunamganj. Approximately 13 hectares of Boro paddy have already been completely submerged. Farmers' crops, livelihoods, and cattle feed are under serious threat.

Except for the main road of Bishwambharpur, most branch roads are waterlogged and disconnected. Safe water sources and drainage systems have been damaged. Farmers, fishermen, and children are at risk of lightning strikes. The pressure to harvest crops is increasing before the floodwater rises further.

Under the CREA project, 60 youth volunteers (28 women, 32 men) are working in the field to raise awareness, share alert messages, and help harvest paddy. So far, they have worked in 17 villages. Women volunteers are also helping to stack paddy and fill sacks.

To raise awareness, 1,089 people (women, men, and youth) have participated in 40 meetings. Joint meetings of UDMC and CAG have been held to plan disaster response.

The water level of the Surma River is rising. Rainfall of 15 mm was recorded in the last 24 hours. There are fears that embankments may collapse.

Everyone is being urged to move to higher ground, ensure the safety of children and the elderly, and remain alert.

সহিংসতা রুখতে এবার প্রস্তুত আমাদের কিশোরীরা!🥋💥

কারাতে প্রশিক্ষণের মাধ্যমে আমাদের কিশোরীরা শিখছে আত্মরক্ষা, গড়ে তুলছে আত্মবিশ্বাস আর সাহস। তারা আর পিছিয়ে নেই- বাল্যবিয়ে, ইভটিজিং ও সহিংসতার বিরুদ্ধে এখন তারা সোচ্চার ও দৃঢ়প্রতিজ্ঞ।

এই কিশোরীরা শুধু নিজেদের নিরাপত্তাই নিশ্চিত করছে না, বরং আশেপাশের অন্য মেয়েদেরও সচেতন ও অনুপ্রাণিত করছে। একসাথে তারা তৈরি করছে নিরাপদ, সমতাভিত্তিক একটি সমাজ।

কিশোরী দলের এই অদম্য শক্তি আর নেতৃত্ব আমাদের ভবিষ্যতের আশার আলো।

Through karate training, our adolescent girls are learning self-defense while building confidence and courage. They are no longer holding back now they stand strong and vocal against child marriage, eve-teasing, and violence.
These girls are not only ensuring their own safety, but also raising awareness and inspiring others around them. Together, they are creating a safer and more equal society.

The determination and leadership of these adolescent girls light the way toward a more hopeful and empowered future.

কিশোরী দল শুধু সচেতনতার বার্তা ছড়াচ্ছে না-তারা নিজের শক্তি গড়ে তুলছে। নিয়মিত সেশন, শিক্ষা ও সামাজিক কার্যক্রমের পাশাপাশি কারাতে প্রশিক্ষণের মাধ্যমে তারা আত্মরক্ষা শিখছে, আত্মবিশ্বাস বাড়াচ্ছে এবং বাল্যবিয়ে ও সহিংসতার বিরুদ্ধে দৃঢ় অবস্থান নিচ্ছে। 💪🥋

তিনি একসময় ছিলেন নীরব সংগ্রামী। আজ তিনি উদ্যোক্তা, আত্মনির্ভরশীল, আর অন্যদের পথ দেখান। 🌱
মাহিনুর বেগম, রাঙ্গাবালী, পটুয়াখালীর এক নারী। CREA প্রকল্পের সহায়তায় তিনি বদলে ফেলেছেন নিজের জীবন, এখন তিনি অন্য নারীদের আর্থিক সচ্ছলতার পথে এগিয়ে দিচ্ছেন। VERC-এর নারী দলের একজন সক্রিয় সদস্য মাহিনুরের হাত ধরে সমাজে বদল এসেছে ধীরে ধীরে।
এটি শুধু তার গল্প নয়, এই গল্প সম্ভাবনার। তার এই পথপচায় সহযোগী হিসাবে ছিল উন্নয়ন সংস্থা ভিলেইজ এডুকেশন এন্ড রিসার্স সেন্টার, কারীগরি সহায়তায় মানুষের জন্য ফাউন্ডেশন, অর্থায়নে সুইডেন সরকার।
From silent struggles to leading change — meet Mahinur Begum, an entrepreneur who turned her life around with the help of the CREA project. 💪
Based in Rangabali, Patuakhali, Bangladesh, Mahinur is now not only financially solvent herself but is also empowering other women to become independent. As an active member of a VERC women’s group, she is part of a larger movement — the Community Based Resilience, Women's Empowerment and Action Project, supported technically by Manusher Jonno Foundation and funded by the Embassy of Sweden.

🚨 চিকিৎসা মৌলিক অধিকার, বিলাসিতা নয়!🚨

মানুষের জন্য ফাউন্ডেশনের সিআরইএ প্রকল্পের আওতায় "জেন্ডার সমতা ও জলবায়ু জোট বাংলাদেশ (জিকা)" কমিটির আয়োজনে ১৩ এপ্রিল ২০২৬ তারিখে রাঙ্গাবালী উপজেলায় এক মানববন্ধন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।

সাগর ও নদীবেষ্টিত স্বাস্থ্যসেবাবঞ্চিত দুর্গম দ্বীপ উপজেলা রাঙ্গাবালীতে দীর্ঘদিন ধরে বন্ধ থাকা ৫০ শয্যাবিশিষ্ট উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সের নির্মাণকাজ দ্রুত সম্পন্ন ও চিকিৎসা কার্যক্রম চালুর দাবিতে এই মানববন্ধন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

"চিকিৎসার অভাবে আর মৃত্যু নয়, চিকিৎসা মোদের মৌলিক অধিকার" – এই স্লোগানে সোমবার সকালে উপজেলা পরিষদের সামনে এ কর্মসূচি আয়োজন করে জিকা'র উপজেলা কমিটি।

বক্তারা প্রধানমন্ত্রী, স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী ও স্থানীয় সংসদ সদস্যের হস্তক্ষেপ কামনা করে দ্রুত প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের দাবি জানান।

🚨 Healthcare is a fundamental right, not a luxury!🚨

GICA (Gender Equality & Climate Alliance Committee) – under the Community-based Resilience, Women's Empowerment and Action Project of Manusher Jonno Foundation– organized a human chain in Rangabali Upazila on 13 April 2026.

Rangabali is a remote island sub-district surrounded by rivers and the sea, long deprived of healthcare services. The human chain demanded the immediate completion of the long-stalled 50-bed Upazila Health Complex and the launch of medical services.

With the slogan – "No more deaths due to lack of treatment, treatment is our fundamental right" – the program was held on Monday morning in front of the Upazila Parishad.

Speakers called upon the Honorable Prime Minister, Health Minister, and local Member of Parliament to intervene and take necessary action.

People from all walks of life, including women, men, and marginalized communities, participated in the program.

No more neglect. No more preventable deaths. Healthcare is everyone's right – and we will claim it now.
