IBCCI President Attends the SAFE HVAC-R and Cold Chain Expo 2026

A three-day international exhibition titled “SAFE HVAC-R and Cold Chain 2026” began on Thursday at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka. Savor International Limited has organised the event and features the latest technologies, products, and innovations in the HVAC-R and cold chain sectors.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, adviser to the prime minister on finance and planning, as the chief guest. In his speech, he stated that the government plans to simplify tax policies and investment regulations to create a more business-friendly environment for both local and foreign investors. He also mentioned that by eliminating market irregularities and ensuring transparency, Bangladesh has the potential to emerge as one of the world’s leading investment destinations in the future. Referring to investment trends in Vietnam and Indonesia, he expressed optimism that Bangladesh could soon become a major regional investment hub. He further invited international investors, especially from Türkiye, to expand their investment activities in Bangladesh. The organisers said the exhibition aims to create opportunities for networking, collaboration, and exchange of experience among local and foreign investors, entrepreneurs, industry experts, and policymakers. The event is also expected to help attract new investment and expand business opportunities in the HVAC-R and cold chain industries. Among others present at the event were Bilal Belyurt, commercial counsellor, the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Dhaka; Li Xiao, director, Yunnan Commercial Representative Office in Bangladesh; Lutfar Rahman Talukder, president, Bangladesh Air-Conditioning Equipment Importers Association (BAEIA); Md Moshiur Rahman, president, India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI); Anwar Shahid, president, Bangladesh Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI); Anwarul Islam, president, Bangladesh Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Merchants Association (BRAMA); Al Emran Hossain, president, ASHRAE Bangladesh Chapter and Bangladesh Green Building Academy; Md Hasmotuzzaman, former president, ASHRAE Bangladesh Chapter; and Md Faizul Alam, managing director, Savor International Limited.
Secretary General of the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, S M Abul Kalam Azad, also attended the programme alongside the president. IBCCI participated in the Expo as a Knowledge Partner.
In his speech, Md Moshiur Rahman emphasized the importance of regional business cooperation and technology exchange between Bangladesh and India. He highlighted the significant role of HVAC-R and cold chain technologies in promoting industrial growth, sustainable infrastructure development, and supply chain efficiency.

He also appreciated the organisers for successfully arranging the international exhibition and expressed his best wishes for the event’s success. A delegation from TCI Bangladesh Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Transport Corporation of India Ltd. (TCI), paid a courtesy call on with the President of IBCCI, Md. Moshiur Rahman, along with the Secretary General of the Chamber. The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, where both parties exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation and the growing importance of efficient logistics in enhancing bilateral trade.

During the visit, the delegation shared an overview of their business operations and highlighted the range of logistics and supply chain services they provide. As an integrated multimodal logistics company, TCI Bangladesh specializes in cross-border transportation between India and Bangladesh, offering services such as customs clearance at both borders, door-to-door delivery, and complete end-to-end supply chain solutions. They emphasized their commitment to efficiency, transparency, and reliable service delivery to support modern business needs.

The 104th Meeting of the Board of Directors of the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) was successfully held on 25th April 2026 at the IBCCI Secretariat, Dhaka, in a hybrid format. The meeting was presided over by President Md. Moshiur Rahman and attended by distinguished Vice-Presidents, Directors, and the Secretary General.

Key decisions included confirmation of the previous meeting minutes, restructuring of Standing Committees from eleven to eight for improved efficiency, and approval of two new corporate memberships. The Board also reviewed and revised service charges for membership-related certificates, effective from July 2026.

Several strategic initiatives were discussed, including strengthening member engagement, preparing for a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Commerce Minister, enhancing IBCCI branding, and expanding membership outreach. The meeting also emphasized regular committee activity, upcoming delegation planning, and strengthening bilateral business facilitation between India and Bangladesh.

A Courtesy Call on with the Honorable High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh.

A delegation of the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI), comprising 17 members and led by its President, Mr. Md. Moshiur Rahman, paid a courtesy call on with H.E. Mr. Pranay Kumar Verma, Honorable High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, on Thursday, 16 April 2026 at 11:30 AM. The meeting was held at the Conference Room of the High Commission of India (HCI) in Dhaka.

The delegation included senior office bearers and directors of IBCCI, representing diverse sectors of trade and industry. At the outset, the delegation presented a bouquet and a commemorative crest to the Honorable High Commissioner as a mark of respect and goodwill.

In his welcome remarks, H.E. Mr. Pranay Kumar Verma highlighted the strong and steadily growing bilateral trade relations between Bangladesh and India. He noted with satisfaction that business activities between the two countries are progressing smoothly. Emphasizing the need for deeper engagement. He encouraged the organization of seminars, workshops, and bilateral meetings between the leading industries of both nations.

High Commissioner Pranay Kumar Verma also highlighted that IBCCI, representing more than 500 companies, plays an important role in advancing bilateral trade, investment, and business cooperation between India and Bangladesh. He commended IBCCI for its ongoing efforts in strengthening economic ties between the two nations and underscored the importance of converting geographical proximity into meaningful economic gains.
He further encouraged IBCCI to adopt a forward-looking strategy by expanding trade relationships into broader partnerships, increased investment flows, and deeper value chain integration. Noting that India and Bangladesh are the two largest economies in the region and close neighbors with a strong emphasis on connectivity, he stated that both countries are well positioned to promote regional economic integration and develop resilient, future-ready supply chains.

He also shared perspectives on recent developments, including the introduction of trade settlement mechanisms in Indian Rupees and the ongoing enhancement of infrastructure at key Land Customs Stations to ensure smoother cross-border trade. The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to exploring new opportunities for cooperation and further strengthening the India-Bangladesh economic partnership.

The IBCCI delegation expressed its appreciation for the continued cooperation and support extended by the High Commission. They shared their positive experiences regarding the current business environment, noting that trade is being conducted without significant hindrance. The delegation also highlighted the importance of further infrastructure development to ensure more efficient and seamless export-import operations between the two countries.

18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of IBCCI

The 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) was held on 23 December 2025 in Dhaka, presided over by Vice-President (In Routine Presidential Charge) Mr. M. Shoeb Chowdhury.

The meeting was attended by key officials, former leaders, outgoing and newly elected Board members (2025–2027), and Election Board representatives. All statutory agenda items, including activity and financial reports, were presented, discussed, and approved with active member participation. The AGM also reaffirmed the newly formed Advisory Council comprising former Presidents and Vice-Presidents, aimed at strengthening guidance and institutional support, following a proposal by Director Mr. Mohammad Ali Deen and seconded by Mr. Subrata Dutta Gupta.

The India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) participated in the 6th World Trade Expo 2025, held from 21st to 23rd November 2025 at the World Trade Center Mumbai, India, with a 6-member delegation comprising senior representatives. The event brought together policymakers, business leaders, and delegates from over 30 countries, creating a dynamic platform for global trade dialogue, investment opportunities, and knowledge exchange. IBCCI delegates actively engaged in panel discussions, B2B meetings, and networking sessions focused on bilateral trade, regional connectivity, and business collaboration between India and Bangladesh. Key themes of the expo included sustainable trade, digital innovation (AI and FinTech), MSME development, and cross-border partnerships. The Manipur Global Buyers and Sellers Summit 2025 / 10–11 October 2025 / Imphal, India.

The Manipur Global Buyers and Sellers Summit 2025 was held on 10–11 October 2025 at the City Convention Centre, Imphal, India, under the theme “Bridging Business Sans Borders.” Organized under the RAMP initiative of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, along with MANIDCO, MCCI, and the Directorate of Trade, Commerce & Industries, the event aimed to promote cross-border trade and regional economic integration among South and Southeast Asian nations. A three-member delegation from the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI), led by Secretary General , participated to strengthen bilateral and multilateral trade relations between India and Bangladesh.
The inaugural session was graced by the Hon’ble Governor of Manipur, Mr. Ajay Kumar Bhalla, who emphasized Manipur’s strategic role under the Act East Policy. The IBCCI delegation presented a commemorative crest to the Governor and held discussions on expanding cooperation in MSMEs, handloom, agro-processing, and eco-tourism.
