It was a privilege to attend the launch of the BRAC–LEGO Foundation SPLASH Project today at Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka.
The launch event featured two distinguished sessions, each graced by a Chief Guest from the Government of Bangladesh,Mr. Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain, MP, Honourable Minister, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Mr. Bobby Hajjaj, Honourable State Minister, Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
The event was also honoured by the presence of Dr. Mohammed Jakaria, Director General (Secretary), NGO Affairs Bureau, and Mr. Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, Additional Secretary, Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC), as Special Guests.
The sessions were expertly moderated by Mr. Md. Akramul Islam, Senior Director, BRAC, and Mr. K.A.M. Morshed, Senior Director, BRAC.
In his welcome address, Mr. Asif Saleh, Executive Director of BRAC, emphasized the importance of the SPLASH Project in fostering safe, inclusive, and joyful learning environments where children can develop essential life skills through play and creativity.

The PHALS ToGETHER team conducted field monitoring visits to oversee the progress of data collection for the upcoming Humanitarian Operation & Innovation Facility (HOIFA) response across Chiringa and Kakara Unions in Chakoria Upazila, and Barbakia and Rajakhali Unions in Pekua Upazila, Cox's Bazar.
The monitoring missions focused on ensuring the quality, accuracy, consistency, and timely completion of the assessment process while providing on-site guidance, mentoring, and technical support to the HOIFA field teams. These efforts are expected to generate reliable evidence and develop an accurate beneficiary database, strengthening evidence-based humanitarian planning, informed decision-making, and the effective delivery of assistance to the most vulnerable communities.

Despite the heavy rain, today we had the pleasure of welcoming the donor representative from Banglabari Belgium, Mr. Willem Gan, along with PHALS Program Manager, Mr. Khairul, on a field visit to two PHALS-managed primary schools,Dakbhanga Primary School and Moishkum Primary School. They also visited two PHALS-supported pre-schools in Ramu Upazila, Cox's Bazar.
The visit offered an excellent opportunity to observe the ongoing educational activities, interact with teachers and students, and better understand the impact of the program at the community level. We sincerely appreciate their continued support, encouragement, and commitment to ensuring quality education for every child.

In camp 20,Due to continuous heavy rainfall, our PHALS soap production center has been inundated with water. Fortunately, there has been no landslide from the hillside behind the factory so far. Our staff and volunteers are working tirelessly to safeguard the raw materials, equipment, and finished products from further damage.
We pray for the weather to improve soon and for everyone's safety as we continue our response efforts.

Today PHALS conducted a training session on the KOBO Questionnaire for project implementation staff and volunteers in preparation for the upcoming HOIFA Response 2026 under the ToGETHER 2.0 project, supported by Maltster International.
The training was facilitated by Ms. Sharmila Akter Shifa, Resource Person of the ToGETHER project. The session focused on strengthening participants’ knowledge and practical skills in using the KOBO data collection platform, ensuring accurate, efficient, and high-quality data collection during the forthcoming response activities.
The training also provided an opportunity for participants to familiarize themselves with the questionnaire, clarify operational procedures, and enhance their readiness for effective field implementation.

Under the BRAC-managed Pooled Fund, the PHALS Education Team organized an Experience Sharing Meeting on 24 June 2026 at the CIC Conference Room in Camp 4 Extension, Ukhiya.
The event was graced by the Camp-in-Charge (CIC), Mr. Md. Al Imran, as the Chief Guest. Representatives from the Camp Management Agency (CMA), Camp Management Office (CMO), and various partner NGOs were also in attendance.
The meeting served as an important platform for stakeholders to share experiences, reflect on achievements and challenges, exchange best practices, and strengthen coordination efforts to enhance the quality and effectiveness of educational services within the camp.

As part of its commitment to strengthening the institutional capacity of local Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), the PHALS ToGETHER team successfully organized a two-day training on Financial Management for Peer Humanitarian Partners (PHPs) from three local organizations under the PHALS ToGETHER 2.0 Programme supported by MI, on 21–22 June 2026.
A total of 15 participants from three local PHPs actively engaged in the training, which focused on enhancing financial management knowledge, accountability, and organizational sustainability.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the resource persons from BRAC and FIVDB for facilitating key sessions and generously sharing their expertise and practical experiences. Their valuable contributions played a significant role in enriching the learning experience and ensuring the success of the training.

PHALS Education team organised School Management Committee (SMC) meeting of PHALS managed "Dakbhanga Non Govt. Primary School"at school premises on 20th June 2026. SMC president Mr. Nazrul Islam presided over the meeting. During the meeting, an agreement was signed with local boat owners to ensure safe, reliable, and convenient boat transportation for school students. Manager- Education Program PHALS Mr.Khairul Alam facilitated the meeting. SMC President of PHALS managed "Moishkum Osman Sarwar Primary School"was also present.
