"For Climate, For Our Future"
PHALS celebrated World Environment Day 2026 in Camp 8E with the enthusiastic participation of learners from the Learning Centre and their parents. The event was inaugurated by Gazi Sariful Hasan, CIC, through a tree-planting ceremony, highlighting the importance of environmental stewardship and climate action.
Following the inauguration, the CIC led an awareness rally attended by learners, teachers, parents, and community members. At the conclusion of the rally, he distributed saplings among the students of the PHALS-managed Learning Centre, encouraging them to contribute actively to a greener and more sustainable future.
The celebration reaffirmed PHALS' commitment to environmental conservation and inspired young learners to become responsible custodians of nature for the benefit of future generations.

Visit of FCDO, IOM, and L*D Sector Representatives to the PHALS Soap Production Center under the SISBLHP Project.
On 9 June 2026, representatives from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), together with colleagues from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Livelihoods and Skills Development (L*D) Sector, visited the PHALS Soap Production Center in Camp 20, Ukhia. The center operates under the SISBLHP Project, implemented by PHALS in collaboration with IOM and supported by FCDO.
The FCDO delegation comprised Ms. Jennifer Scott, Head of the Cross-Cutting Human Rights Team, Human Rights Department; Ms. Marinella Bebos, Humanitarian Advisor and Ms. Marielin Mridha, Senior Programme Manager. Representing IOM were Mr. Dabal Kaji Rokaha, Programme Manager (Shelter/NFI), and Mr. Adnan Hossain, Programme Focal Point (Social Cohesion). The delegation also included Ms. Jannat from the L*D Sector.
During the visit, the delegation spent valuable time engaging with the chemist, mixing personnel, and volunteers working at the production center. The Honorary Executive Director of PHALS warmly welcomed the visitors and provided a comprehensive briefing on the center’s objectives, operational processes, achievements, and its contribution to promoting sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment within the community.
Later, the Camp-in-Charge (CiC) of Camp 20, Mr. Hossain Muhammad Al-Muzahid, joined the delegation and reaffirmed his full support and cooperation to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
The visitors observed the soap production process firsthand, interacted with staff and volunteers, and exchanged views on the opportunities and challenges associated with community-based livelihood initiatives. They expressed their appreciation for the dedication, professionalism, and commitment demonstrated by the production team in supporting both refugee and host communities through skills development, social cohesion, and income-generating opportunities.
The visit underscored the significance of locally led initiatives in fostering self-reliance, strengthening social cohesion, and enhancing economic resilience. It also reaffirmed the shared commitment of humanitarian partners to advancing sustainable community development and empowering communities through practical and inclusive livelihood interventions.

On 6 June 2026, a four-day Subject-Based Basic Training Program for the teachers and staff of PHALS managed & Banglabari, Belgium supported "Moishkum Osman Sarwar Primary School,"Ramu, was successfully completed.
The Bangla session was facilitated by Ms. Mobasharatul Jannat, Assistant Teacher of Kowerkhop Government Primary School and Master Trainer of Ramu Upazila Primary Education. Her expert guidance and practical insights significantly enhanced the professional capacity of the participants.
The closing session was graced by Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam, President of the School Management Committee (SMC) of Dakbhanga Primary School, whose presence added value and encouragement to the event.
Ms. Romana Suja, Human Resource Officer of PHALS, conducted comprehensive sessions on Gender, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Safeguarding, and Staff Performance Appraisal, reinforcing the participants’ understanding of professional ethics, accountability, and workplace standards.
Special recognition goes to Mr. Md. Khairul Alam, Manager, Education Program, PHALS, whose dedicated leadership, effective coordination, and tireless efforts were instrumental in the successful implementation and completion of the four-day training program.
PHALS remains committed to strengthening the quality of education through continuous capacity-building initiatives for teachers and education personnel, ensuring a better learning environment for children and communities.

৫ জুন, বিশ্ব পরিবেশ দিবস-২০২৬ উপলক্ষে পালস বানী একাডেমির শিশুদের অংশগ্রহণে পরিবেশ বিষয়ক আলোচনা, বৃক্ষরোপণ কর্মসূচি এবং চিত্রাঙ্কন প্রতিযোগিতা সফলভাবে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।
“For Climate, For Our Future” প্রতিপাদ্যকে সামনে রেখে আয়োজিত এ কর্মসূচির মাধ্যমে শিশুদের মাঝে পরিবেশ সংরক্ষণ, জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের প্রভাব মোকাবিলা এবং টেকসই ভবিষ্যৎ গঠনে সচেতনতার বার্তা পৌঁছে দেওয়া হয়। শিশুদের স্বতঃস্ফূর্ত অংশগ্রহণ ও উদ্দীপনা কর্মসূচিটিকে আরও প্রাণবন্ত ও অর্থবহ করে তোলে। পরিবেশবান্ধব মানসিকতা গড়ে তোলা এবং ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মকে দায়িত্বশীল নাগরিক হিসেবে গড়ে তুলতে এ ধরনের উদ্যোগ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করবে।

Today, BRAC, in collaboration with the RRRC and the LEGO Foundation, organized an inception event titled “Nurturing Childhood, Preparing for Tomorrow” at a local hotel conference hall.
The event brought together distinguished stakeholders from various government agencies, including the District Administration, Education and Health Departments, along with representatives from the UN, INGOs, and local and national NGOs. Mr. Muhammad Mizanur Rahman graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
This three-year education programme aims to reach 107,349 children by 2028, benefiting both Rohingya and host community children across different upazilas, aged between 3 and 18 years. The initiative is designed to foster holistic childhood development and create brighter opportunities for future generations.
During the event, participants actively shared valuable insights and recommendations to support the effective and successful implementation of the programme.
I feel truly honoured to witness such a meaningful and innovative initiative dedicated to shaping a better future for children.

As per the request and desire of the workers of PHALS Soap Production Center in Camp-20, today the PHALS team arranged a Milad and Traditional Community Feast for both Rohingya and Host Community volunteers inside the production center.
The program reflected the spirit of harmony, mutual respect, and community bonding among all participants. Such initiatives continue to strengthen social cohesion and promote a positive working environment within the camp community.

A significant workshop on “Prevention of Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling” was held today, 20 May, at 2:00 PM in the District Administration Conference Hall, jointly organized by the District Administration, Cox’s Bazar and BRAC, with the participation of government and non-government local stakeholders.
The workshop was graced by the Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar, Mr. Mohammad Abdul Mannan, as the Chief Guest. The session focused on various aspects of preventing human trafficking, ensuring safe migration, and raising public awareness on these critical issues. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of coordinated efforts and the active role of all relevant stakeholders in addressing these challenges effectively.

The first Parents’ Meeting of "Moishkum Osman Sarwar Primary School" was held today following the takeover of the school management by PHALS, with the generous support of Banglabari-Belgium.
The meeting was attended by the Respectable UP Chairman, Mr. Shamsul Alam, as the Chief Guest. In his remarks, he highly appreciated the Executive Director of PHALS and the entire Education team for their dedicated efforts in implementing quality education initiatives in Kowerkhop Union under Ramu Upazila.
To support the students’ safe and smooth transportation during the rainy season, the Chairman announced a contribution of BDT 10,000 for arranging boat services from Monirjhill to Moishkum School. He also instructed the concerned authorities to formalize an agreement with the boatman in coordination with the SMC Presidents of Moishkum and Monirjhill Schools.
Furthermore, the Chairman declared an additional contribution of BDT 100,000 (One Lakh Taka) for the development of the school, including the procurement of benches, fans, and other essential facilities.
The meeting concluded with optimism and strong community commitment toward ensuring a better educational environment for the children of the area.
